The Articles of Faith
#11
We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

We left for the valley around 5 this morning, going the Payson way.
James dropped me off at Sheri's work when we got to Chandler so I could use her car to go visit his mom and Dawn while he went to work in Sun City. Sheri was getting ready to go to the post office so I went with her. After dropping Sheri off I went to the Walmart on Arizona Ave. and Pecos.  The most important thing I got at Walmart was a teapot for Dawn and Lois.

I called Kim and told her I was ready to go see grandmother. She said she would need a few minutes to get ready. She was ready when I got there. On our way to Temp e we stopped at a surgery center on the 101 and Warner where Stacy was with Paul taking a class in regards to his upcoming knee replacement surgery. She left the class and came with us to see her grandmother and Aunt Dawn.

When we arrived at Lois's house Rebecca and Nathan were there. It was nice to see them. Rebecca is still teaching at Heritage School and she is illustrating a children's book with around 150 sketches, paintings, and drawings. Nathan just graduated from BYU with some kind of an advanced math degree. Now he wants to go on and get his Masters in Computer Science and Research. His ultimate goal is to be a professor at BYU. He has already written down 65 pages of ideas for his thesis. Wow! Rebecca's kids are smart!

Lois and Dawn both opened their individual gifts and then the large teapot along with tea and stevia. Here is the teapot and cup I got Dawn:

Here is Lois's:

After all the gifts were opened, Dawn made us some tea. She didn't put any sweetener in mine so it tasted a little different than what I am use to.

Stacy asked Lois some questions about her family when she was growing up. She told us that her dad was so much older than her mom that some of his kids were older than she was. He had 8 children, Maggie, Lois's mom, had two, Jack and Henry, from a previous marriage and together she and Mr. Fullerton had Lincoln, Paul, Lois, Faye, and June. It's fun to listen to Lois talk about her childhood. I told Stacy she ought to consider writing her life story for her. I started to one time but I never did finish.

On the way home we were going to stop for lunch at Olive Garden but neither Kim or Stacy felt like it. They each have specific health issues. Kim had a pinching in her neck and head and Stacy, who doesn't have a gall bladder, has to take powder before she can eat or her food goes right through her.

I have $135 in rewards to use at Costco. At first I went to the Gilbert Costco where I bought some blankets to use as Christmas gifts, and a baking set which includes two sheet pans and a half sheet pan. I got some lunch at the snack bar and then drove over to the Ross in south Chandler. I wanted to look at blankets but they didn't have very many, not nearly like they normally do this time of year. Lois says there is a trucker's strike right now. I wonder if that's why their inventory is so low. I did buy a new pair of shoes before leaving to go to the Chandler Costco.

Here I got some more blankets, and a key lime pie, and a pair of Skecher's tennis shoes. By this time is was a little before 5 when I am supposed to pick up Sheri.

When Sheri and I get home the first thing we do is change into our comfy clothes. Sheri fixed dinner, steak cooked on the grill, asparagus, and rolls. James gets home and joins us for dinner. Everyone is excited about the key lime pie. Well, Ian, Sheri, James and I are, I don't think Max or Evan care.  I thought it would be like a cheesecake but it has sweetened condensed sugar in it so it would more like an Eagle Brand pie. It was delicious.

Max is staying at Alex and Shayna's watching their dogs while they are gone on a roadtrip to Seattle with Joe, Michael, Sarah and Dallin. He came here for dinner and then left again. James asked him to work with him in the morning and he said he would.

Sheri and I took the dogs for a walk and I was able to get my 10,000 steps. I made friends with the dogs by giving them a couple of treats.

When Sheri and I got back to the house we watched "The British Home Baking Show" with Mary Berry. We didn't watch too long because Sheri turned it off and went to bed at 8. I decided to go to bed too. James was still up working on the computer.

The Articles of Faith
#10
We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

James left the house this morning for Home Depot around 6:30. He was back and had the supply lines put into the new faucet by the time it was time for the first session of conference today.

I listened to a story about praying to serve someone on iflyheli. It was amazing.

Purple is the color of conference, yesterday and today as demonstrated by the BYU choir and the Choir at Tabernacle Square.
