"Standing By Our Promises and Covenants"
Elder Ronald A. Rasband
"As an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, I conclude with an invitation and promise. First, the invitation: I invite you to consider the promises and covenants you make with the Lord, and with others, with great integrity, knowing that your word is your bond. Second, I promise you, as you do this, the Lord will establish your words and sanction your deeds as you strive with unwearied diligence to build up your lives, your families, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be with you, my dear brothers and sisters, and you can, with confidence, look forward to being 'received into heaven, that thereby you may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness ... for the Lord God hath spoken it.'
Of this I testify and promise in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

I like the rain but I don't like the mud that it brings. We have a muddy driveway again and my car is totally covered in mud. I was in a hurry last night going to the church and I really hit some big puddles.

We had about 20 elk this morning come off the hill and run in front of our house. I think they were running away from the Crane's barking dogs.

We were wondering if we would be working at the temple tomorrow and then we saw an announcement online about temples. All temples will be closed as of Monday, March 16th. They will only be open for life ordinances by appointment only. Yes, we will be working tomorrow at the temple but it may be our last day for a long time.

I got my books all inventoried today but my shipment will not be ready until tomorrow evening. James will mail it for me on Monday when he goes to the valley.

We went to town this afternoon and washed the car, picked up prescriptions. I did a little shopping but Walmart was out of bread, eggs, butter, milk, and all paper goods. I still managed to spend $200.

I made rolls for the temple for the last time for awhile this morning. Liana Grapp did my baptisms at the temple. She will miss going every week.

The Book of Mormon isn't simply something to be read and studied, it is to be lived.  I love the Bible, the D&C, and the Pearl of Great Price, but the Book of Mormon is different.  More than any other book it is Christ-centered and gospel centered.  It leads us to the Lord and motivates us to do good.  Within the reach of those who become serious students of it's pages and precepts is an interpretive key that open hidden treasures of knowledge.  The Book of Mormon speaks directly to us because it was written for us.  I love the Book of Mormon!!!

There are cloud bursts all around us but not much rain here, a few sprinkles.  I decided it was a good time to wash my car while James attempted to put the mud flaps on the Razr.  He got one on today.  I helped.

I went out on our property today and picked some sunflowers.

Kathy Crane gave us some veggies from her garden today.  We got cauliflower, broccoli, flower squash, zucchini, cabbage and green beans.  We made a vegetable medley for dinner and it was delicious!  In other news from our neighbors the Crane's:  While they were sitting on their patio they saw a small bobcat on the rocks just behind their yard.

Sunrise.
Joe went on the pioneer trek with his ward and stake today.  Kim said they went somewhere outside of Globe.
Doesn't look too excited does he?
I'm sure he will have a great time!
My major accomplishment for the day was washing my car and getting the mud out of the garage.  I finished spraying off about half the driveway and then got tired and quit.  Because I am sick I just don't have much energy.
This evening before Mutual I had a visiting teaching interview with sweet little Rosie Westbrook.  She is hispanic and talks so fast in english that I find it difficult to understand her.  She has lived in Vernon for over 30 years and raised 7 boys and 2 girls.  One of her daughters, "Sadie" is getting ready to go on a mission.
We also, Natalie, Kaeli, and I had a short presidency meeting before Mutual.  We discussed each girl and individual needs.  Our main concern right now is Hailey Lootans.  She should be having an interview with the bishop very soon as she turns 16 on April 1st.
For Mutual Natalie talked to the girls about making skirts.  She had several patterns for them to choose from and told them to go home and get on the Hobby Lobby website to pick out material.  Her Mom works at Hobby Lobby and can get a discount on fabric.  We measured the girls and let them pick out which pattern they wanted so we would know how much fabric to order.
Came home and went to bed.  I want to get a good nights sleep as I go to the valley tomorrow.
