"My family knows that just before Christmas I will read again my Christmas treasury of books and ponder the wondrous words of the authors.  First will be the Gospel of Luke, even the Christmas story.  This will be followed by a reading of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens and, lastly, rereading The Mansion, by Henry Van Dyke."
-Thomas S. Monson
I made french toast for breakfast and afterwards I went back to bed because I wasn't feeling well.

The kids had a great time playing with the Nerf guns.  They had a war upstairs.  Once James Hayden was in "prison", the closet and was waiting to be freed.  In the meantime the kids quit playing and didn't tell him so he sat in the closet another 15 minutes before he realized the game was over.

Jared brought his computer and we found some more family names to do temple work.  He also found some names for the Trezise's.

Jared offered to take his kids to a movie because it is a Wallen family tradition but none of them wanted to go.  He and Trina did take them up to the pit and the swing.  The weather was sunny and quite warm.  Darrel was at work until 6.
In the valley Sheri took her kids and a few extras on her traditional Christmas Eve hike up A mountain.  Trina and her kids usually go to but this year she had to settle for the pit.

the top of the mountain.

Trina made chicken taquitos for dinner.  They were delicious!

We had a little program this evening with the kids, a special F.H.E. First Rowan played "Deck the Halls" on the piano.  Next Addy and Emmy played "Silent Night."  Addy was on the guitar and Emmy on the piano.  Addy played another song on the guitar and James H. played "Carol of the Bells" on the piano.  Molly & Ruby sang "Let It Go."  I told the story, "Trouble at the Inn."
The kids all got to open their pajamas from their parents and their blankets from us.  It was a fun Christmas Eve.
 Rowan playing "Deck the Halls"
Emmy and Addy playing "Silent Night"
Addy looks so serious.
James playing "Carol of the Bells"
It was awesome!
Love those blue eyes!
Molly is quite the performer.  Ruby was a little
shy and therefore a little silly.
These two cuties love each other!
Molly showing off her bandaged chin.
These two love each other too!
They slept together in the "loft".
Is Trina taking a selfie with her new iphone6 plus?

and Rowan in his new pajamas.

Lola waving goodnight to everyone.

James and Alex got up early to go coyote hunting.  They were back by breakfast time.  I made good on my promise to the boys and made them some of my homemade french toast along with sausage, and turkey bacon.

When I took my shower this morning I had mildly warm water and Sheri said she didn't have any hot water either.  Before James left for the valley he checked the downstairs hot water heater and found the pilot to be off, so he lit it.  He told me to keep at eye on it and make sure the leak didn't get any worse.  There was some standing water in the bowl at the bottom of the water heater.

I called Stacy and asked if she wanted Joshua to come home with James and she said no, she was coming up.  Alex did come home with him though.

Ben had been taking the boys on Razr rides since they got here, but he may not be doing it anymore.  When they got back this morning Sheri and I asked Evan if he had fun.  This was his reply:  "Not that much.  Ben tipped the Razr over and we couldn't get it back up until some guy with a mustache and gray hair (Chuck Crane)  helped us. Ben was so upset he was outside and wouldn't come in until Sheri went out to talk to him.  Evan said he was trying to dodge a rock when it flipped.  Luckily none of the boys were hurt.

Sheri did my new Princess puzzle that Kim got me two times.
She is good.
It rained alot today.  We should have gone up to check Buckelew Springs.  Ian cooked steaks for dinner.  We also had broccoli which is Joshua's favorite vegetable.

Ian and Sheri went on a short Razr ride this evening and saw lots of elk down on the corner.

This evening we all watched Master Chef together.  I was surprised these three were so interested.  I guess it's one of Evan's favorite shows.
 Lots of legs and feet.
Here they are again.

Darrel is taking his pharmacy licensing exam tomorrow so he asked James to give him a blessing.

After the blessing he took Addy on a date to Golden Corral.
Addy's menu tonight consisted of pizza, mac and cheese, and several servings of her favorite food, jello.
James sent me this picture taken in Mesa.

Sunrise over Montosa

I got up at 3am for gospel study because I knew I would be leaving early for my appointment with Dr. Moffat.
My appointment was at 8am and James had one at 9:30.  Becky Skousen, who works for Dr. Moffat and is a member of our ward took us back to our room.  She put us both in the same room which I thought was a little strange.  Dr. Moffat addressed my needs first.  He said I am getting way to much thyroid with the prescription I have from Dr. Walters.  He wrote me a new prescription.  He doesn't believe in using hormones and thinks they do more harm than good so I guess I won't be on hormones.  While Dr. Moffat took care of James, first ordering an EKG, I slipped out to get my prescription filled and do some shopping at Walmart.

I picked James up and we dropped his prescriptions off at CVS and then went to Persnikkity's for something to eat.  We got there around 10:30 and they had just started serving lunch.  I got the California burger and James got the green chili chicken sandwich.  We picked up the prescriptions at CVS and then we went to Safeway to get some ice cream for our wards fathers and sons.  This was an assignment James received at priesthood meeting yesterday.
I slept all the way back to Vernon.  We stopped at the post office.  Jared had sent me a book for mother's day: "Power to Become" by Elder David A. Bednar.  He knows of my great love for church books!

Max had an assignment at school to read a book and then make a character from the book out of a Pringles tube.  Ian was a big help!
Can you guess what book he read?

I made the french toast I wanted James to make yesterday.  It was delicious and I am sure I will be eating it for the rest of the week.
I watched a little too much TV today.  There are lots of good shows on Sunday so I have to try and catchup on Monday.
I am glad we had our FHE on Sunday.
