And it came to pass also, that he caused the title of liberty to be hoisted upon every tower which was in all the land, which was possessed by the Nephites; and thus Moroni planted the standard of liberty among the Nephites.
-Alma 46:36

It's nice to have James here on a Monday.  I downloaded the song "Happy" on my phone, and we did the "Happy" dance.  We made a trip to town.  One of the first thing we did was go to check on the flowers at my Mom's grave.  We watered them, but basically they are dead.  I plan on coming back on Easter Sunday at which time I will leave a live, blooming lily plant.
I tried to call the hospital to see if I could go see Denice Hall but when I called her room there way no answer.  Hopefully she got to go home today.
I went shopping at Walmart for ingredients for the dinner I am taking the Wilhelm family this evening.  I made a double bath of Kempton goulash, green beans, rolls, wedge salad and poke cake was the complete menu.  When James and I went to deliver the dinner Curtis was playing outside with his brothers Andy and Johnny.  Zemira was lying on the couch watching TV.  Along with dinner I took a basket full of Disney babies, eggs with candy, and various other items.  The Wilhelm's are such an awesome family!

I came home and cleaned the kitchen and then James and I watched The Mentalist.  I watched part of DWTS.  This is Disney week and Donny Osmond is the guest judge.
We also read from our book, The Book Thief.  We are anxious to finish it and move on to another book.

The moon looked like this when it came up this evening:
We missed it when it turned red at around 11:30pm.
There was a lunar eclipse tonight.

Gospel Quote:
"When a woman is called to preach the gospel she is given priesthood authority to perform a priesthood function.  The same is true of a woman set apart as a teacher or in a presidency."
-Dallin H. Oaks
Priesthood Session of 184th General Conference

 Balintore Castle, Scotland

I woke up with my lower jaw on my left side swollen.  I ate a lemon and drank some lemon juice.  It didn't seem to help.  Did I mention that I was up before 4am.  I spent the last four hours of the night on my recliner.
I fixed our "conference" cinnamon swirl pancakes for breakfast. They were yummy, but I think they made me tired.  I kept nodding off during the first session of conference this morning.  I even had James stop the recording for awhile so I could take a nap.  We had an hour for lunch before the start of the next session.  I made BLT's for lunch.
Baby Polar Bear

The next session was even worse as far as my sleepiness.  I could not stay awake.  Luckily I will be able to look at all the talks online in a couple of days.

For dinner I made a salad and brownies and we finished off the chicken-stuffing casserole I made yesterday.

After working on my blog James lit a fire and we sat by it while I read from The Book Thief.  World War II is kicking into high gear.

Misty Morning, The Dark Hedges,
Ireland.

Got up and slept in the recliner until about 6:30. I can't remember when my knees have ever hurt this bad.  While I was studying this morning, James made me some breakfast.  He is so very thoughtful and it was yummy!

Around noon James and I made a trip into town to transfer money from National Bank to Chase.  We stopped at Wendy's for lunch.  I wanted to get a salad and try their burger on ciabatta bread with roasted tomatoes but we couldn't find it on the menu.  I ordered a BBQ Ranch chicken salad to eat later on for dinner and James and I both got a single burger.  We both ate our burgers but I'm afraid we complained for these reasons: 1.) They were too expensive, $3.99.  We thought we were ordering small burgers. 2.) They had cheese, we did not order cheeseburgers, and they had mayo, not a favorite condiment of ours.  Oh well, we managed to get them down without too much of a problem.

On the way back home I read to James from The Book Thief.  We are beginning to like it even though we know it's going to be sad.  I finished all of my gospel study.  I was way behind so it took a good part of the day.  I am determined to finish all of the October 2013 General Conferences addresses before the end of the month.  When I do, I will have read them each six times.  I was so behind in my Old Testament reading that I read 10 chapters from Deuteronomy today.
Today's Conference Goals:
"Personal Strength through the Atonement of Jesus Christ"
Elder Richard G. Scott
1.  Recognize the power of the Atonement by studying it
more deeply and striving to live by its principles in my life.  Also, express gratitude for it daily.
2.  Fortify my weaknesses to create strengths.
3.  I need a humble, lifelong commitment to forsaking my sins.
4.  Make weak things become strong by removing temptations.
(Got rid of most all of the candy in my life).
5.  Make sure my repentance is thorough and complete.
6. Fill my life with service.

"I Will Not Fail Thee, nor Forsake Thee"
President Thomas S. Monson
1.  Don't complain, especially over Church assignments.
2.  Be patient.
3.  Make the gospel the center of my life.
4.  Be grateful.
5.  Endure well, to the end.
6.  Become more spiritually refined.

Amazing tree!!
Here are some notes I took this morning while reading Elder Callister's "Infinite Atonement."
"If the gifts of the Spirit are the medium by which we perfect ourselves, how can we accelerate our acquisition of such gifts?"
       1.  See all the best gifts of the Spirit orderly and persistently with all my heart.
       2.  We must ask so fervently that this pursuit is a constant unending struggle.

Even though James put a plug in my back driver's side tire last week, it is still leaking air.  We left a little after 11 to take it to Center Tire to be fixed.  We dropped Lexy off and walked over to Persnikkity's for lunch.  James had the green chili chicken sandwich with a side of potato salad.  I had the chicken salad sandwich with pasta salad.  We shared.  Everything was very tasty.

We stopped at both Chase and National bank and then went on to Walmart.  James stayed in the car while I shopped at Walmart.  For a Good Works value experience I needed to make a two week menu plan and then shop and prepare the meals.  Today I did the shopping for one week.

I read to James from the book The Book Thief both coming to town and going back home.  We still aren't sure if we are going to like the book but Kim liked it even though she said it was sad so I'm holding on to that.  Sheri said she wouldn't read it because she heard it was sad.  It's about a family in Nazi Germany during WW11.

We had salad for dinner and then watched Rizzoli & Isles.
Kim texted me from Oregon.  She said she had the ocean on one side of her hotel room and a herd of elk on the other.  I told her she must be in heaven.  She agreed.
