Songs Sung and Unsung
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
"The declarations of heaven cry out to us that the only way complex societal issues can ever be satisfactorily resolved is by loving God and keeping His commandments, thus opening the door to the one lasting, salvific way to love each other as neighbors. The prophet Ether taught that we should hope for a better world."

Our friend Grady E. from Chandler got his mission call. He is going to Quito, Equador. He leaves in October. We are excited for him. We had Grady in our Primary class a few years back.

James worked on finishing the fence this morning while I got ready to go to the valley. We left at 10:50. I read three chapters of "The Reluctant Duchess" before we stopped at the Taco Bell in Payson.
I made it to my appointment at Dr. Douglas's at 2:30 a few minutes early. Sheri got James an appointment with Dr. Carpenter at 3 so I dropped him off there before going to my appointment.  It did not take Dr. Douglas long to fill my tooth. I was out in 30 minutes. James was still waiting to see Dr. Carpenter so I decided to go to Target and get some Dr. Pepper 10.
It was a quick shopping spree but I bought four small notebooks, four DP10's, four bathtub scrubber refills, and a few more items before James was ready for me to come and get him. I grabbed a mini pizza at the snack bar and shared it with James.
At Cathi and Terry's James unloads the car while I tell Cathi about our cousins reunion, and all of our kids visiting.

I hang out in the bedroom most of the evening. James got me an In-n-Out Burger and a Jersey Mike's. I am saving the Jersey Mike's for tomorrow. We read another chapter from "The Reluctant Duchess" before going to bed.

Today marks 27 years from when Mario, a friend of ours from Chandler,  died in a tragic airplane accident. Brennan, his oldest, was only 15 but he and his mom and brothers keep Mario's memory very much alive in their family by sharing the memories of him. This is all of Papa Mario's grandchildren except Adam and Gabby.

38 years of marital bliss for these two.
Ray and Dianne.

This is my dear friend Analee.
I would have never recognized her from this photo
as it was taken several decades ago.

I need to show this to James.

Alma 57:1-16
1 - Ammoron wants to exchange Nephite prisoners for the city Antiparah.
2 - Moroni says no.  He would only exchange prisoners for prisoners.
3 - Ammoron says no, so the Nephites prepare to go against the city of Antiparah.
4 - The people of Antiparah left the city and thus the Nephites took the city Antiparah.
5 - Thus ended the 28th year.
6 - In the 29th year the Nephites received provisions, 6,000 men and 60 more Ammonites.
7 - The Nephites desire to battle the amanites guarding the city of Cumeni.
8 - The Nephites did surround Cumeni by night before they received a supply of provisions.
9 - The Nephites caped outside Cumeni for many nights.
10 - The Nephites take the Lamanites provisions.
11 - The Nephites send the Lamanite provisions to Judea and their prisoners of war to Zarahemla.
12 - The Lamanites eild up Cumeni to the Nephites.
13 - The Nephites have a huge amount of Lamanites prisoners of war.
14 - They had to slay 2,000 of them because they fought with stones and clubs to be free.
16 - The rest of the prisoners of war were sent to Zarahemla.

GC: "Refuge from the Storm" by Elder Kearon.

I finished reading "The Lincoln Hypothesis."

It was a beautiful overcast morning with rain.  James and I were both so tired from being out late last night that we went back to bed.  We slept a couple of hours or so.  It was after ten when we got up again.  I studied and fixed pesto flatbread and a salad for lunch.
Eltz Castle, not sure where.

We left for the valley around 4:20.  We stopped for gas and to get our car washed again and then to Walmart to pick up my folic acid prescription.  I also got a big almond Hershey bar for Addy for her birthday tomorrow.
This picture was taken a couple of years ago at
Chino Bandido's in Chandler.
James, Molly, and Ruby.

Lola is at it again, following Evan around.

James and I stopped at Burger House in Miami for dinner.  We ate in and then ordered some burros to go for lunch tomorrow for us and Terry and Cathi.  Tonight I had a chicken enchilada and some refried beans.  Good, but not as good as La Casita's use to be.

We arrived at Cathi and Terry's around 9pm just like I told her we would.  We talked a little while with Cathi about the 25 million name marriage project FamilySearch has been hired to do by FindMyPast.  Cathi of course is working on it.
