Jesus Christ, Divine Sonship
John 6:69
And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
Book of Mormon
2 Nephi 8:1-25
*God will gather his saints and comfort Zion.
Why do you think so many people put so much trust in the things of men instead of trying to get close to the Lord?
- Elder Scott counseled: "Trust in God ... no matter how challenging the circumstance. ... Your peace of mind, your assurance of answers to vexing problems, your ultimate joy depend upon your trust in Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ" ("The Sustaining Power of Faith in Time of Uncertainty and Testing," Ensign, May 2003, 76.78).
New Testament "Come Follow Me"
John 2:1-11; John 3:1-21 I must be born again to enter the kingdom of God.
"Living Water to Quench Spiritual Thirst" Joseph B. Wirthlin, April, 1995
Ensign
"Finding Peace in the Storm of Addiction" Chakell Wardleigh
General Conference
Divine Discontent
Michelle D. Craig
"Never suppress a generous thought. Sometimes when I have an impression to do something for someone, I wonder if it was a prompting or just my own thoughts. But I am reminded that 'that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.' Whether they are direct promptings or just impulses to help, a good deed is never wasted, for 'charity never faileth' and is never the wrong response."

The Joy of Unselfish Service
Christina B. Franco
President Dallin H. Oaks taught: "Our Savior gave Himself in unselfish service. He taught that each of us should follow Him by denying ourselves of selfish interests in order to serve others. He continued: A familiar example of losing ourselves in the service of others ... is the sacrifice parents make for their children. Mothers suffer pain and loss of personal priorities and comforts to bear and rear each child. Fathers adjust their lives and priorities to support a family. ..."

My right knee hurts. Is 15,000 too many steps?

"It is not possible for you to sink
lower than the infinite light of Christ's Atonement shines."
I love this quote because it gives so much hope to us and our loved one.

I also love the article I read in the Ensign, "Finding Peace in the Storm of Addiction."

James has a theory about moisture: "Timing is more important than quantity, but it's important to have quantity in the winter time. 6" rain or 2' of snow in the winter is good because it slowly seeps into the ground. A light rain after the snow is good because moisture soaked in won't dry out because it stays wet on the top of the ground." So scientific honey. I am impressed!

The research about scanners continues and James is learning alot of valuable information. The reason we bought a scanner is to take with us when we are locally buying/sourcing books. We can scan the ISBN and find out the sales ranking and what it is selling for on Amazon. This will help us decide if we want to buy the book or not.

Something exciting happened today for missionaries and their families. Normally on p-day missionaries can send and receive emails from family and friends. Now missionaries can initiate a skype, Facetime, text, or phone call to family and friends. Sheri is so excited that Ben will be able to text or talk to Max who really needs him right now.

We attended the 4 p.m. endowment session at the temple today. Our friends, the Applegate's, were also in the session. This is their regular time for going to the temple. After the session we were in the Celestial Room and a tall, handsome young man came up to us and asked if we were the Lambson's. Yes we are. He introduced himself as Joshua Van Vleet. He grew up in our ward in Chandler. Nancy, his mom is a good friend and works with Sheri at Chandler Eyecare. He and his wife Katie live in Snowflake. Katie says she grew up in the same ward as Trina. I am so glad Joshua recognized us because we would never had recognized him.

I am so grateful to have a temple close by. There is nothing that feels better than going to the temple.!

We left 9 cards that need baptism in our stake file in the credenza. Maxine is going to pick them up in the morning when the youth from our ward come to do baptisms. In return James took one of her brothers names through the endowment session today.

This was part of the "Come Follow Me" lesson this week.
I always have wondered why a snake was used as a type and a shadow of the Savior.

A typical breakfast: toast with butter, and jam
a slice of ham cut in half with melted cheese
in between. Delicious!

Jesus Christ, Crucifixion
Mark 15:15
And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
Book of Mormon
Alma 63:1-17
*Just like the Nephites, we are continually marching to battle. How do I remain humble and refrain from pride?
-By remembering all the Lord has done for me and how much I need Him. By repenting and striving to do His will, and putting Him first in my life.
Old Testament
Proverbs 18-20
General Conference
Young Women in the Work
Bonnie L. Oscarson
"One of the best ways to increase feelings of self-worth is to show, through our concern and service to others, that we have much of worth to contribute. I encourage you young women to raise your hands to volunteer and to put those hands to work when you see needs around you. As you fulfill your covenant responsibilities and participate in building the kingdom of God, blessings will flow into your life and you'll discover the deep and lasting joy of discipleship."

Saving Ordinances Will Bring Us Marvelous Light
Elder Taniela B. Wakolo
"I invite each of us to ask ourselves, 'What ordinances, including the sacrament, do I need to receive, and what covenants do I need to make, keep, and honor?' I promise that participating in ordinances and honoring the associated covenants will bring you marvelous light and protection in this ever-darkening world."

We did our scriptures and conference talks on the way to the Snowflake temple this morning.

The Palmer's were our instructor's and officiator's. We watched a couple of films on the new name and the first name of the individual on the card.

My first assignment was at the top of the stairs to greet people as they came in for the 8 am session. Next I was greeter 3 behind the recommend desk. A new wooden handmade vase was on top of the credenza and Sister Sauwen and Brother Farr and I were admiring it and wondering how it was made. The brother who made it is a temple worker here in Snowflake. His name is Brother Rowell.
I worked in initiatory and then had my break with Sister Bowers. I found out that she is from east Texas and she has a daughter named Samantha Cumoux who lives in Tyler, Texas. It's a small world.

I was assistant sealing director under the stairs for an hour, working with Sister Flake in the sealing room, helping prepare people's names that they want to seal today. I helped the Lofgreen's, the Fish's, and a Sister Fulton.

I was greeter 1 and 3, did initiatory again and my last assignment was in the Celestial room.

For potluck we took the loaf of whole wheat bread Sister Grapp made us along with some cream cheese, butter, and Sister Crane's jalapeno jelly. The Bradshaw's loved the jelly and Sister Bradshaw begged James to get the recipe for her. I'm not sure Kathy will give it out since she sells the jelly.

We spent a quiet afternoon and evening at home after stopping at El Cupido's for lunch. My Big Jake burrito will last me at least 24 hours. I put a rack of baby back ribs in the crockpot to cook. Tomorrow I will put them on the grill or under the broiler to finish them off. They won't be smoked but they will be good.

Family Search sent me this information on my
great, great grandfather. When I looked him up,
someone had also posted his life story.
I am grateful to know I have a Nauvoo pioneer in
my ancestry.

Time passes so quickly! This was Addy's

Jesus Christ Authority of
Abraham 3:27
And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first.

*What things did I learn from General Conference so far?
- What truly touched me about this General Conference is how palpable you could feel the love of our Father in Heaven, His Son's, our prophet, the apostles, and all the others who spoke in conference. You knew that they were men of God who loved the Lord I thought that the common theme was Christ and His love for us and how we should acquire that same love to minister to others. The gospel is really simple, love the Lord and love our neighbor. If we truly love the Lord, we will do all that He asks. When we do all that He asks, we become like Him and we do the things that He did when He walked the earth. The pure love of Christ truly makes the world go round. My hope for me is that as I come unto Christ I will acquire the pure love of Christ and then take that love and become one of His ministering angels. We have a great example in our prophet who has the pure love of Christ in him. What a spiritual feast we had this General Conference!
Old Testament
Deuteronomy 34 and Joshua 1
34 Moses sees the promised and and is taken by the Lord - Joshua leads Israel - Moses was Israel's greatest prophet.
Joshua 1
The Lord speaks to Joshua - He is commanded to be of good courage, to meditate upon the law, and to keep the commandments - He prepares Israel to enter Canaan.
General Conference
Am I a Child of God?
Elder Brian K. Taylor
" How can each of us experience the power of understanding our divine identity? It begins by seeking to now God, our Father."

Paul is on a diet. Here are some of the results of the past two weeks: (Facebook post)
At the beginning of March I got bad news from my doctor, my HbA1c was 8.6, normal is 6.0. I was already taking medication to control my diabetes but this meant that the medication was no longer working. He gave me a new medication, but it also failed to lower my blood glucose. In addition my blood pressure was moderately high and cholesterol was also elevated both also being controlled through medication.
I resolved to make a change I had long expected but resisted. What has happened in the last two weeks is pretty amazing and I don't think I can credit any one thing as the reason for these changes but likely a group effort so to speak.
My doctor put me on an even stronger dose of medication, but by then I had eliminated soda from my diet. I then increased my frequency of 2 mile walks from 3 times a week to 6. The biggest change was starting Isagenix as a way to help me regulate blood glucose and make my diet predictable. I then started working out.
In two weeks here are the results:
A follow up with my doctor has reduced my blood pressure medication in 1/2 and I likely could get rid of it. My last reading was 92/63, way too low.
My "big boy" belt is useless, I am on the last notch only because it doesn't go lower.
My shoes became loose y fitted hats are too big.
I'm sleeping better. My workout tights are no longer tight.
I have way more energy. I'm more focused especially at work.
My glucose levels have dropped from an average 230 to 105 in two weeks. I've lost 30 lbs this month, 20 in the last two weeks.
I
am no way near done but off to a good start My goal is still to get off all medication and if the weight goes, then that's a bonus.
I'm so grateful for those who have offered me support and encouragement.

I am grat eful for Paul's example. I have initiated some changes in my own life. I went off diet soda the Monday after fast Sunday in March. On April 1st James and I said we were going to give up sweets for the month of April. I have been keeping track of my calories for the past few days and I walk 5-6 miles a day. My goal is to lose 25 lbs. by my birthday in August. I feel like with this quote from the October 2017 General Conference, I now have the motivation to do it.

" If the love we feel for the Savior and what he did for us is greater than the energy we give to weaknesses, self-doubts, or bad habits, then He will help us over the things which cause suffering in our lives. He saves us from ourselves."
-Sister Joy D. Jones

This is what keeps me going. As I realize the sacredness of the body the Lord has given me I realize I need to treat it with more respect.

James left after our reading of the Book of Mormon and family prayers around 7:20, for his appointment with Dr. Moffat. He needs referrals to see other doctors and Dr. Moffat writes those referrals.

I was sad to see the General Young Women's presidency released at conference. I had grown to love Sister Oscarson, Sister McConkie, and Sister Marriott. In the April 2017 general conference Sister Jones, the Primary General President lost her counselor, Sister Jean B. Bingham. Sister Bingham is now the General Relief Society President. This conference her other counselor, Sister Bonnie Cordon, was released and called as the Young Women's General President. All I can say is, Sister Jones picks awesome counselors!
Young Women General Presidency:
President - Sister Bonnie H. Cordon
1st Counselor - Michelle Craig
2nd Counselor - Becky Craven

New Primary Counselor:
Sister Lisa Harkness

I am not feeling too well today. I think I am tired and run down from this past weekend. I did not stay on my schedule today. I didn't clean or pay bills or fix any meals or work on my Primary lesson. I bought the ChildrenLearningReading program and worksheets. I started running off the worksheets until I ran out of colored ink on my printer. I am so excited to start the program with Amaron. He is coming over on Thursday so I can help him with the Primary handout for this month. I also blogged two days and walked.

James went on a Razr ride this afternoon. He says he is looking for antlers to give to Terry. He saw elk and a herd of 20 antelope. He was gone a couple of hours.

This evening James and I started watching the Saturday afternoon session of general conference. We missed it because of our Easter party. It went like this:
Sustaining of Church officers and calling of new officers:
Dallin H. Oaks.
Auditing Report - we skipped this.
7. "Meek and Lowly of Heart" - Elder David A. Bednar
8. "One More Day" - Elder Taylor G. Godoy
9. "Young Women in the Work" - Bonnie L. Oscarson
10. "Saving Ordinances Will Bring Us Marvelous Light" - Elder Taniela B. Wakolo
We stopped here and will listen to the other two talks in this session tomorrow evening.
I walked while listening to these talks and got over 19,000 steps today.

Jesus Christ, Appearances, Postmortal
Luke 24:39
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
Book of Mormon
3 Nephi 12:25-48
*How hard is it to love our enemies?
I think it requires lots of prayer, forgiveness, and humility, and the Holy Ghost filling us with pure love.
*What does it mean to you to be perfect?
President Russell M. Nelson: "We need not be dismayed if our earnest efforts toward perfection now seem so difficult and endless. Perfection is pending. It can come in full only after the Resurrection and only through the Lord. It awaits all who love Him and keep His commandments" ("Perfection Pending," Ensign, Nov. 1995, 88).
Doctrine Covenants Scripture Mastery
DC 130:22-23
22 The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.
23 A man may receive the Holy Ghost, and it may descend upon him and not tarry with him.

Do We Trust Him? Hard Is Good
Elder Stanley G. Ellis
"The Lord does trust us in so many ways. He has given us the gospel of Jesus Christ. He entrusts us with His priesthood authority, complete with the keys for its proper use. With that power we can bless, serve, receive ordinances, and make covenants. He trusts us with His restored Church, including the holy temple. He trusts His servants with the sealing power - to bind on earth and have it bound in heaven. He even trusts us to be the earthly parents, teachers, and caregivers of His children."

Paul and Janell are here shooting. I took a walk up to the broken down CAT with James to do some "observing," while he tries to start it. It started but now he's having problems draining the old oil so he can put in some new.

James had a shirt on today that I have not seen him wear for a long, long time. When I told him I liked it he told me the following story. "You bought me this shirt when we took Darrel to the MTC for his mission. (That was in 1998). We took Amy Bush to dinner at Tony Roma's in Provo and she told me my shirt was a "chick magnet."

This chick is attracted.

We have smoke again today! Yikes! I guess we didn't do enough complaining!

Let the complainings begin!

James went to town today because he had an appointment with Dr. Reagan who was supposed to help him with the pain in his shoulder. He was going to do some other errands including picking up rice and beans at La Casita for our dinner we are taking to the Curtis's. Luckily I texted him his driver's license and credit card and they accepted it. He did not see the doctor because he was an hour and a half behind on his appointments. He is on call at the hospital for up to 14 days. The other doctor fills in for him but that means he is double booked.

While James was gone I made a batch of chicken enchiladas. He took awhile because I cut the meat off a roasted chicken and shredded it and then put everything else together. When James returned I asked him to deliver the dinner and while he was gone I would make him so enchiladas. I really wanted to see my friend Dianne but I was not in any condition to see anyone. The dinner consisted of chicken enchiladas, a salad, and the delicious rice and beans from LaCasita. They have the best refried beans, rivaling Paul's mom's.

While he was making the delivery I made another batch of chicken enchiladas. I could not make them for someone else and not make some for James. He loves them!

When James returned we ate our enchiladas and watched an old movie we had taped "The Apple Mortgage Cake" which is based on a true story. It is a great movie and we enjoyed watching it again.

We also watched an episode from season two of Heartland: "Miracle Girl."

I also made time to do this today:

Thanks for carrying on the tradition!
