I got up at 2:50 a.m. to pack and get ready to leave by 4. It was actually 4:20 when we left. We stopped for gas in Springerville and then again in Socorro. I said a prayer before we left and we had scriptures as we were traveling.

Our first stop to eat was as the Whataburger in Roswell, New Mexico. I have made a rule that there will be no eating in my car so we dined in at the Whataburger. James ordered me a burger with green chili. I really enjoyed it but couldn't eat it all so I gave the rest to him.

When we stopped for gas in Brownfield, Texas I got some gum and a Snickers. I forgot my no eating in the car rule but the Snickers didn't smell like food and I didn't drop any.

After going through the Ft. Worth/Dallas traffic and two wrecks, we stopped in Terrell at Buc-ees. I love their clean bathrooms and they have good food. We both got brisket sandwiches and brownies. Neither one of us finished our sandwich or our brownie so we put them in the ice chest.

After Buc-ees as we were driving towards Longview we saw the biggest golden moon we have ever seen!

This picture does not do it justice.

We arrived at 1613 Pineland St. in Longview, Texas at 10 p.m.
Everyone was still awake waiting for us: Jared, Kacey, Charlie, Autumn, and Scarlet. After we gave Charlie and Scarlett a hug they went to bed. Kacey and Autumn were decorating for Charlie's birthday party tomorrow. The theme is "Little Mermaid" and Autumn is drawing a mermaid for the game pin the fin on the mermaid. She is very artistic.

James visited with Jared for awhile and I visited with Kacey and Autumn. Kacey asked me if I was still doing intermittent fasting and I said no. She said her sister has lost 40 lbs. doing it. I told her that Stacy lost 50 lbs. She said that she and Autumn were doing it.

I commented on how I liked the light fixture over the dining room table and Kacey replied that she installed it. I was impressed and then Autumn said she installed a farm sink all by herself. She also made the night light in the bathroom. These two are quite amazing!

We visited a little longer and then I went to bed. James went outside to walk. I am not going to worry about walking while I am on vacation. My knee has been bothering me and I just need a break.
