Sometimes the hardest part of the day is getting out of bed for both James and I.

It was a beautiful morning. James went out after prayer and scriptures to chop and haul branches. He came back in with a bloody and bruised arm and even a bloody scratch on his nose. He said a branch stuck on the roof fell on him and he probably has pine needles stuck in his arm. He cleaned it up and I helped him put big bandages on it.

I asked Darrel today if he had heard about the fires in Maui and the Big Island. I know he and Trina are planning on going there in September. He said no he hadn't. We chatted back and forth and said we hoped the fires were over by the time they were planning to go. I'm not sure when that is. I know he and Trina are going somewhere on September 6th but I thought they were taking the family so I don't think that is when they were planning on going to Hawaii. I guess I should ask.

James and I went into town this afternoon to mail Rowan's and Joshua's birthday cards. We also got some lunch at Panda to take home and eat. Wow. The difference between Panda and Pei Wei is startling. Panda doesn't even compare.

Dark clouds and lots of rain today. This afternoon it was too wet to work on the tree or the deck, so James decided to work on the front bees. The back bees seem to be gone.

Spent time with Tabitha and Tom on the front porch. They sneak in the house whenever they can and they are hard to get out.

James called Collin DeWitt today to find out how he got his temple recommend renewed before the scheduled night. Collin is in the Denali wilderness in Alaska, fishing. James was jealous.
Collin he said he called Brother Corwin Ellsworth, the stake executive secretary, and he arranged an appointment for him. James thanked him, hung up, and called Brother Ellsworth. Brother Ellsworth said he would look at the schedule and get back with him, which he did. James needs to be at the stake center tonight at 7:45 and President Beeler will work him in.

James went and now he has his temple recommend so we can go with the Tignor's tomorrow when Terry gets his endowments. Not only is James friends with Barbara and Terry, he is their ministering brother.

I walked 15,223 steps today. I made up for Monday when I got 7,600.

Some notes I took today:

President Nelson: Six Ways to Disagree in a Christlike Way:
1. Express feelings with love.
2. Don't think you know best.
3. Don't compete.
4. Don't rigorously defend your position.
5. Let the Spirit guide your conversations.
6. Be filled with charity, the pure love of Christ.

Dallin H. Oaks ( p. 338 New Testament Student Manual)
"...the issue is not what we have done, but what we have become. And what  we have become is the result of more than our actions. It is also the result of our attitudes, our motives, and our desires."

I may have already posted these pictures but I would
rather post them twice than to miss posting them.

Shayna and Alex went to California.
Alex is taking the picture.

Charlie is starting piano lessons and
kindergarten. Lots of changes for
this sweet girl.
