"Your Patriarchal Blessing - Inspired Direction from Heavenly Father" by Elder Randall K. Bennett

Today is my favorite 17 year old's birthday. Rowan is a sweetheart with a heart of gold and the personality to go with it.

My neck pain makes it difficult to get out of bed in the morning. Thank goodness my knee is better.

This on the Maui fire this morning.

I sent this to Darrel and this is what he said and how our conversation went:
D: I saw this. I fear that our airbnb is burned because it is in the part where the fire is. I'll give it a few days and message the guy.

Me: I am so sorry.

D: Well it's worse for the people there.

Me: Yea, fires move so quickly. Those people who fled to the ocean and had to be rescued...

Jared had back surgery this morning. He was doing so well after the surgery that the doctor said he could go home. I hope he doesn't regret that decision after the drugs wear off.

Rio and Katie led the discussion on Elder Gong's talk "Ministering."
It was really good. I especially enjoyed Katie's comments. Here are some of my notes:

Instead of the visiting teaching message in the Ensign we now share our own experiences living the gospel.
Ways to meet needs, fill in the gaps.
Trust assignments.
Higher and holier way.
"Dropping things off" vs. conversations
Consistency brings miracles - L. Tom Perry
Church is the scaffolding - no one is forgotten.
Loving touching points - smiled at, walked with..
Marco Polo
Use our gifts to minister
Create an Ecosystem - basement flooded - 20 people showed up to help
Branches and roots connecting
Inspired action, ripple effect
Some relationships take time, it's the long game.
Everyday better
Becoming a part of someone's life
We're all just walking each other home
A covenant walk with Jesus
There are many diverse ways to minister.
What more can I do?

Willie, Ralph and Roger came over today to do some more welding on the stable. They stayed until noon. James left about 15 minutes before they did to come in the house and get ready for his doctor's appointment with Dr. Moppat. He left for town a little early so he could go by Discount Tire and get a new tire for his truck.

I had almost 9,000 steps when we left for the temple at 3:45. Terry Tignor, Barbara Bartels Tignor's husband, is going through the temple to get his own endowments today. We arrived at the temple the same time as Barbara's son Tim and his wife Alana. Barbara was sitting upstairs in the common area and she looked so happy. We greeted her and she said she was so glad we came.

Other people who attended from our ward: Jim & Linda Diewald, Bob & Kristine Hipps, and Cope Reynolds who was Terry's escort.
We attended the five o'clock session. James and I were in the prayer circle with Barbara and Terry. We gave Terry a hug in the celestial room. He is such a humble guy. I really do like him.

On the way home James stopped at Sonic to get something to eat. It was passed my eating time so I declined. James was impressed.

The skies towards Vernon were dark but we couldn't see an indication of rain in our area. It rained hard in Snowflake and Taylor.

Back at home we walked finishing our book, "An Unwitting Alliance." I also finished my book, "A Heart Worth Stealing."
James and I started a new book, "Chiara's Choice." My new book is called "Love and Lies".

Yes I did.

In April my score was 846.
I'm not sure why it is down so much.
Maybe because my accounts were compromised
3x in the last few weeks.
