This picture was taken today near Big Lake, Arizona.

Well I woke up this morning feeling as if I had never had a steroid shot.  I should have had it yesterday instead of Thursday but they failed to tell me it was only going to last one day.  I guess I am going to either be taking aspirin or Ibuprofen most of the day.  I missed going to Evan and Josh's soccer game.

I finally got my talk completely written and now I need to repeat it at least 10 times.  At least that's why my coach, Mr. James says.

Before leaving for conference this evening James and Paul gave me a priesthood blessing.  I was most appreciative.

I was very touched by the amount of support I got from my kids.  Stacy invited all of her boys to come.  None of the older ones did except Michael, but Adam texted me and told me he would like a copy of my talk.  Joshua, Paul, Stacy, Michael, and Alexis, Kim, Joe, Sheri, Ian, Darrel, Trina and Lola all came, and of course James was there as was Cathi, Terry, Laura, and Dave.

I think the theme of the meeting was about families although there was a talk by Bishop Johnson of the Del Rio 1st ward on ward councils, and two talks about family history. Oh yes, and the Tempe Mission President, President Toone, and his wife spoke about missionary work.  President Toone is the biggest man I have ever met.
My talk was entitled "The Family is Ordained of God" and I mainly spoke about my family and my testimony.  Afterwards some of us went to Chili's.

James had his turn.

I love Lola's face in this picture.
Lola knows where the camera is.

Boy I look old!
Selfies!

It was a good night, but I am glad it's over.  I can enjoy the session tomorrow without any stress.

"By example we can help our children understand that spending long periods of time using the internet, social media, and cell phones; playing video games; or watching television keeps us from productive activities and valuable interactions with others."
-Sister Mary N. Cook

I left for the valley around 2 o'clock this afternoon.  I went the Globe way as James has me convinced that it is faster.  Each time I go this way it seems a little less daunting.
I picked up Evan and took him to get his scriptures at Deseret Book.  He picked the black set.  Why didn't I take a picture?  We also got a toe, a necktie and a colored pencil.  After they printed his name on his scriptures we went next door to Costco to get some dinner.  Evan got pepperoni pizza, a Sprite and a churro.  I got a hot dog and a BBQ beef sandwich to take home to James.
Evan loves jokes and he told me several on the way home.  He says he wants a joke book for Christmas.  It was a fun date!

James did the plumbing on his tank and got an inspection today.
Tomorrow is Evan's baptism and I am giving the talk on the Holy Ghost.  I have a pretty good idea of what I am going to say, but I need to organize my thoughts and write them down.

I love this quote about Charity by Marvin J. Ashton,
an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Nathan Tibbetts, James's nephew, left on a plane for the MTC.  Rebecca, Nathan's mother and James's sister says her baby is all grown up and is on his way to save France.  We are very proud of him.
 Rebecca and her grandchildren,
Daniel and Eden.
I wrote my talk for Stake Conference.  It's 11 minutes long, and needs to be 10.  I will find a way to shorten it.  I would rather have it too short than too long.  My topic is: How I Come unto Christ and how I help my children and grandchildren Come unto Christ.

I watched a Hallmark movie today that they are making into a series.  It's called "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered."  Very cute.  I love Hallmark movies.

Well, I had a visiting teaching appointment this afternoon and James did not make it home in time to change my tire so I took my buggy.
It was a gorgeous day for a ride in this sweet buggy.
I only went to Rosa Westbrook's in the middle of Vernon and then to the post office to pickup my thyroid pills which still weren't there.  This is the longest time I have been without my thyroid since I can remember.

James did get home later this evening and of course he brought me a green chili burro.  I love that man.  We watched another Hallmark movie together called "Operation Cupcake."

I got a call from Stacy this evening.  There are bees in our chimney.
James told them to build a fire but I think they taped a sheet in front of the opening instead.

 Sunrise
James is feeling much better today now that he is no longer taking the sulfa drug.  I fixed him some eggs for breakfast.

I worked on the talk I am giving on Sunday today about keeping the Sabbath day holy.  I am beginning to get a little stressed.

For lunch I fixed some stirfry and then we watched The Walton's and took a nap.  This afternoon I typed an invoice to give to Zaki for items he owes us for.  As I was working I got a call from LeeAnn Hunsaker.  She is home alone and was wondering if she could come over.  I picked her up on the Razr but before coming home we go to town to get the mail.  When we get home we snack and watch a movie.  LeeAnn picked out "How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days."  I asked her if she was sure her mom would be ok with her watching this movie and she said yes, she had seen it before, that it was Kaylynn's favorite movie. Luckily her mom came to get her before the movie got too bad.  James and I determined it is one of those movies we don't want in our home.

Chuck came by for a short visit before dinner.  I made pork chips, coleslaw and broccoli and cauliflower blend.  Some others things I did today: washed the car, did the dishes, and spent some more time writing my talk for Sunday.  We had a hard rain this evening.
