Thanks to Sheri for posting all of these pictures!

I read an article in Meridian magazine this morning. The title was: "The Parting of My Red Sea" by Lynne P. Christofferson. Lynne and her brother were in Morocco when the airports to Europe began shutting down in March. Because of a friend who was helping them make online reservations and because of their righteousness in keeping their temple covenants and through their prayers, they were able to get home through a "sea of people" who were also waiting to get out of Morocco. They made it out just before the airport closed. It was truly a miracle. Many in the "sea of people" did not make it out.

As James left for the Howard's this morning I offered a prayer for his safety. I am worried about him being on a 16 ft. ladder in the wind. He says he will be careful. What exactly does that mean coming from James Lambson who is known to be quite reckless?

I made the ministering changes we talked about in our presidency meeting. I texted Diana Curtis and asked her to be Sister Beckham's ministering sister. Sister Beckham and her husband just moved here from Gilbert. Diana said she would be happy to be her ministering sister. Diana is such a pleasure to work with. Hopefully her partner will help with this assignment.

I also texted Catherine Halcomb and told her of her new partner, her daughter, Kerri and their assignment to minister to five sisters to whom they are already ministering. Catherine and Kerri are both excited about this new assignment.

Sheri checked on us today regarding the government stimulus check. Kim texted and asked if we needed anything. When I said we were running a little low on toilet paper she offered to bring some up. I told her that wouldn't be necessary but I was grateful for her concern and her willingness to help. We are all concerned about Kim and Brian because they have both been out of work for well over a month.

I opened a large can of bean with bacon soup. Add some crackers and bingo, lunch! James was appreciative when he got home.

I pigged out on ice cream and warm caramel sauce today. I cannot have ice cream in my house unless it is Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches.

Watched "Lark Rise to Candleford" during lunch break and read to James from "Aunt Dimity and the Family Tree."

I cleaned books this afternoon getting ready for another shipment.
The last book I cleaned, "Western Civilization", had a huge sticker covering almost the entire back of the book. It took me about 30 minutes to remove this sticker. When I showed James he said, "I would have just left it on." After removing the sticker I took it to James and said, "This is why I always remove stickers." The book was an instructor's manual and it is against Amazon policy to sell instructor's manuals. It said right on the back, DO NOT SELL.

When I notified the seller, Buck Wild Books, (won't be using him again), the person who emailed me acted like he was angry with his staff for sending the book. I told him about the big sticker covering all of the pertinent information. I never heard back from him.
I will be returning the book for a full refund, including shipping and return shipping.

James spent most of the evening looking for a lien release form online. He finally found what he needed and emailed it to himself. He always seems to have a little crisis.

In other James news, he went on a horsey ride this evening. He really seems to enjoy these nightly trots. I'm glad because Luna needs the exercise after being stuck in her tiny pen all day.

James also found his hearing aid as he was going to bed this evening. It was under the edge of his bed. Yay!!

I studied the Restoration, Inklings, and Come Follow Me this evening. I also finished the audio book by Brad Wilcox, "Because of the Christ on Calvary." It was a good one.

"Unwavering Commitment to Jesus Christ"
Elder Dale G. Renlund
Oct 2019
"As our faith in Jesus Christ grows, God invites us to make promises with Him. These covenants, as such promises are known, are manifestations of our conversion. Covenants also create a sure foundation for spiritual progression. As we choose to be baptized, we begin to take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ and choose to identify ourselves with Him. We pledge to become like Him and to develop His attributes."

It was 5 degrees when I got up this morning. Outside, not inside. The cold water on our kitchen faucet was frozen inspite of having the heater blowing on the pipes all night. James took a bigger propane heater outside and tried to unthaw the hose. It finally worked and we had water again.

I read this quote by President Eyring in the book I am currently reading, "Live Up To Our Privileges" by Wendy Ulrich:

"It is wise to fear that our own skills are inadequate to meet the charge we have to nourish. ... But that realistic view of our limitations creates a humility which can lead to dependence on the Spirit and thus to power."

I blogged this morning and again this evening and I am finally caught up! It is going to be so amazing to only have to do one blog post a day!

I inventoried three books and bought a couple of books plus I did some repricing. January was a pretty good month for selling books.

I read, watched Dave and Emily on YouTube, listened to two chapters from Saints, listened to Greg Matsen discuss 2 Nephi 1-5, read an article from the Ensign by President Eyring "The First Vision: A Pattern for Personal Revelation", listened to three conference talks, and studied indepth, 2 Nephi 2.

I also did some work on our ministering assignments. We have several new sisters who need ministering sisters. I looked at all of the companionships that were visiting only one or two sisters and gave them another sister. I "cleaned up" our ministering lists and now I need to post online and send Tamara an email.

James had an elders quorum meeting tonight. They are meeting with Kerri who is showing them how to use the online information on the Church's website for leaders. James said it was pretty impressive.

James is using Kim's formula and making his own breathing remedy. Two drops lemon DoTerra, two peppermint, and two lavender in some water. It really works!

Trina thanked us for her birthday card and gift card. I guess she already opened it although her birthday is not until the 12th.

I made homemade chicken with rice soup. I loved it and so did James.

I got over 14,000 steps today without even bothering my knee.

I wish he really was my Uncle Neal

I took this photo with my Iphone

I wish I could say I took this one

How Can I Understand?
Ulisses Soares
"When we accept the Savior's invitation to 'come and see,' we need to abide in Him, immersing ourselves in the scriptures, rejoicing in them, learning His doctrine, and striving to live the way He lived. Only then will we come to now Him, Jesus Christ, and recognize His voice, knowing that as we come unto Him and believe in Him, we shall never hunger nor thirst. We will be able to discern the truth at all times, as occurred to those two disciples who abode with Jesus that day."

Around 8 this morning as I was getting ready to go take a shower I got a text from Tamara asking if I could print out all of the ministering changes. I immediately began and realized that I was going to have to go to church without taking a shower. I think I got ready in ten minutes.

James was able to do Maxine's temple confirmations and I handed the cards back to her before sacrament meeting.

President Beeler presided at our meeting today. Chuck conducted the meeting. James thinks President Beeler is here to 'scope out' for the new bishop. Today wasn't a good day for that because our congregation was four times as big as it normally is because of the holiday weekend.

At the end of the meeting President Beeler shared his testimony. He testified of the blessings our stake and this area in general has received from the Lord. We fasted and prayed for moisture for several months and we received it. Now we have a Prophet coming to speak to us in two weeks. He said that the Vernon members are the salt of the earth and they have not lost their savor. He testified of the Savior and the Restoration.

Sister Wood taught Sunday School. She used Emily and David's handout and told everyone about their Youtube videos. It was a good lesson with lots of participation. I sat by Cammy and Sister Tesarek was behind us. We visited a little afterwards. Sister Tesarek is our newly called Relief Society activities committee chairman. She is young, and out-going and I think she will do a great job.

Normally when we get home from church we immediately fix lunch before our rest time. Today we went straight to rest time because we had not completed our 24 hour fast.

Every fast Sunday I get out the talk by Elder Shayne Bowen, "Fasting with Power." This talk helps me to understand why I need to fast as the Lord has commanded and according to His laws. It helps me to focus and to realize the blessings that come in no other way but by living the true law of the fast.

When we did break our fast I fixed corn and croissant sandwiches for lunch.

This afternoon James and I FaceTimed with Jared, Kacey, and Charlie. This has become the highlight of my Sunday.

Charlie is a climber, not a walker. Kacey tried to help her was and she walked backwards. So funny!

James worked on helping the Tesarek's with family history and wrote a letter to Ben. I caught up on my blog.

Another thing I look forward to on Sunday is pictures of
these two sweeties!

I love that President Heyman is the
presiding authority in our area.

Richmond, Virginia temple

Elder David A. Bednar dedicated this temple on Sunday, September 1st, 2019.

Jared said that Charlie was a climber. I mentioned it to Sheri and
she said Evan was too. She sent me these photos taken his
first year.

This one is the best!
