Happy Birthday Dad.
He would be 85 today.

James and I made a trip to town today.  We went to the bank and then James dropped me off at Walmart.  He was going to go look at storage buildings.  When he came back to pick me up he had a pizza from Papa John's and wings from Walmart.  The pizza was a think crust veggie, and it was delicious!

I texted Cathi today to see how they were doing and this is the response I got:
"How funny.  I was just thinking about you.  Missing you, too.  We are healthy, happy, and a little stressed.  Leaders from the Family History Department in SLC came to Mesa last week and called us as the new directors at the ROC.  We start serving 5 days a week starting March 7th.  Yikes!"

I said: "Wow! I thought you were only going to serve 2 1/2 days a week. (They still wanted Colin to be able to spend the day with them once a week on Monday.)

Cathi: "That was the plan.  Terry always told me that you shouldn't turn down a call, so there it is.  Out of retirement we go."

Me: "You will be blessed!  I can't think of two better people to serve in that calling!  Congratulations!

Cathi:"Thank you.  I know that we will be guided by the Spirit and that is what is keeping me balanced.  I love you both and am looking forward to your next trip to the valley."

Me: "Thank you, so are we.  We are so proud of you!"
Colin, Terry, and Cathi.

Sheri called James today and shared this with him.  She said Max said to her today while they were shopping.  "I sure do miss my grandpa and wish I could see him more often."  I think this message made James's day.

On the way into town we read our scriptures and on the way home I read from "Refuge at Highland Hall."  On the way home we also found part of James's muffler which he lost yesterday coming home from the valley.

In other news today:
I listened to Kelly Clarkson's new song "Piece by Piece" about her dad leaving her when she is six and how she knows her husband will never leave their little girl.  It is a very emotional song and Kelly does an excellent job singing it.

Trina and Lexy ran a marathon today.
Congratulations Lexy and Trina!
Also Addy and Rowan both have braces now.

Joshua is feeling better and Adam is getting ready to move in with Stacy and Paul.

We did not watch a Hallmark movies tonight.  We were both too busy working on our lessons for tomorrow.  Mine is on Enos and his prayer.

Patrick and Heather Lambson family

I was up early to type James's quotes for his lesson and to finish preparing for my lesson on Lehi and his family leaving Jerusalem.  We also left early so I could set up my room before sacrament meeting.  Ty Applegate was the youth speaker in sacrament meet ing today.  Tyler Hunsaker, who leaves for the MTC this coming Wednesday spoke and Elida Pope who is a convert also spoke.  It was a great meeting.  Elida told about her conversion and it was amazing!  She has such a sweet spirit about her.

Today Zemira, Curtis, and Braylin were the only ones in my Primary class.  Virginia Chaffin gave sharing time today.  It was on nibbling and feasting on the scriptures.  First she let the kids each have one small cracker and then she had a table set up in the back with fruits, cheeses, and crackers where they could feast.  It was a great sharing time.  The kids were so quiet, especially when they were feasting.

For lunch James and I had bean with bacon soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.  James built a fire and I took a nap on the recliner.  When I woke up it was snowing outside.  I love the snow!
This afternoon I did some planning and blog catchup.
Sheri asks for my french toast and friend chicken recipe.

I also read from Jesus the Christ.  I have two more chapters before I am finished.

We watched, "Lucky in Love".

" It is true of families as it is of nations that elimination of wickedness and selfishness will produce harmony and unity.
The spirit of contention is of the devil."

Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary!

I was up at 3:30 this morning to finish preparing my lesson and my lesson handouts. My lesson is on the blessings of the Priesthood.  The best part of the lesson was a short video by Elder Hale's from a conference talk he gave way back in 1995.

I got to church a little early to set up but then I was late going into sacrament meeting.  Luckily James was there to save me a place.

Bishop Hall was not here today.  I guess he has started a new job hauling oil out of North Dakota and will be gone for 30 days.  James thinks we will probably get a new bishop because Bishop Hall will be required to be gone too much for his new job.

We had a good fast and testimony meeting.  My favorite testimonies were Carmen's, the German exchange student who has been living with the Sean Hunsaker family, Sean Hunsaker, and Aaron Windsor who just got his mission call to Reno, Nevada.  Carmen is going back to Germany this week but she says she will be back to be baptized by her American dad, Brother Hunsaker.  I went home during Sunday School and got the book on light by Sister Uchtdorf that we bought yesterday.  James and I put our testimonies in it and gave it to Carmen.  She seemed very appreciative.
I made it back in time in Sunday School to hear Brother Peeler tell everyone how I get up at 4am to study the Book of Mormon.  A little embarrassing.

My lesson went well.  I was a little sad because today was Trenda's last day for a couple of months.  She and her brother Talon will be working in Washington state most of the summer at their uncle's fruit farm.  They will both be missed.  Trenda loved her journal and said it was even her favorite color.

James fixed lunch and did the dishes afterwards.  He gave me a sweet anniversary card.  I made him a peach cobbler.  We were just finishing our FHE from Preach My Gospel when Jared Ammon and his friend Catherine arrived.  They will be staying with us until Wednesday.
