Jesus Christ, Lamb of God
DC 58:11
And after that cometh the day of my power; then shall the poor, the lame, and the blind, and the deaf, come in unto the marriage of the Lamb, and partake of the supper of the Lord, prepared for the great day to come.
Book of Mormon/"Come Follow Me"
Alma 25 and "Don't Miss This"
April General Conference
Opening Message
President Russell M. Nelson
"The purpose of this and every general conference is to help us to hear Him. We have prayed, and invite you to pray, that the Spirit of the Lord will be with us in such rich abundance that you can hear the messages that the Savior has especially for you - messages that will bring peace to your soul. Messages that will heal your broken heart. Messages that will illuminate your mind. Messages that will help you know what to do as you move ahead through times of turmoil and trial."

After reading Alma 25 together and having our family prayer James left to make a delivery to the Goodman's. He spoke to Pierce as Barbara was too miserable to have company. She is recovering from shoulder surgery. Pierce says she is taking tramadol and it makes her hallucinate so she doesn't get any sleep at night.

I texted Sheri and asked her to get the dried plums the Goodman's wanted. She said she would and she will bring them up on the 13th. We are both saddened by the condition in our country right now. Sheri says she either wants to die or have the Savior come. I agreed with her.

For lunch I made a mini batch of enchiladas with some sauce that I had leftover from the last batch I made. There were about four servings. I had one and James had the other three.

Kerri brought over July birthday cards for me to sign. I told her I would take the cards over to Maxine's because I had something else I was taking her. I made rolls because Maxine mentioned when I went to pick up face masks from her that I could have paid her in rolls and she would have been happy.

James and I left to take the rolls to the Thompson's around 5:30 this afternoon. I texted Maxine and told her we were coming but she never answered. We drove all the way to their house, 8-9 miles, and they were not home. We left the rolls and the cards on their front porch. I mentioned to James that Maxine might have gone to our house. Sure enough we passed her red Jeep on the way home. She texted and said the had gone to our house. She didn't read my text because she didn't have her phone with her. Funny. We should have met halfway.

James went on a Luna ride this evening to chase some cows away. He said she is so spooky. That would have been a good name for her, Spooky. At one point she caught the movement of a cow from behind a tree and took off running at high speed. She puts the bit in her teeth so pulling on the reins doesn't stop her. James has to turn her head to make her stop. He was pretty disgusted with her.

This evening I listened to and watched "Don't Miss This" with Dave and Emily. I loved some of the things they said about Alma 26 where Ammon remembers the great things the Lord did for them in teaching the Lamanites. Emily says she has her kids read this chapter before they come home from their missions and in their letter to her share their feelings like Ammon shared his. She said these particular letters are some of her most treasured possessions.
I am going to write to Ben and ask him to do this same thing.

Before going to bed I read to James from "The Pilgrim Hypothesis". This is the book Jared sent him for Father's Day. Thanks Jared. I also read the first chapter from our new Aunt Dimity book, "Aunt Dimity and the Buried Treasure."

Happy 17th Birthday Max!

"Take Up Our Cross"
Elder Ulisses Soares
"To help His disciples to understand that devotion to His work includes submission and suffering, the Savior emphatically declared:'If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lost it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

RWC: Bear you testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ to your children.

Ensign: "Mary, Mother of the Savior" by Margot Hovley

It is snowing fast and furious this morning, it looks like a blizzard or a white out. Anthony, who was supposed to come to dinner tonight with the missionaries, cancels. The missionaries text and confirm this morning and then a couple of hours later they cancel too. All because of the weather.

I spent most of the day preparing food and listening to BYU-Idaho Devotional Podcasts.

We got the money for our loan in the account today but still have not received the check to pay off our creditors. The checks were supposed to arrive by UPS by now but I am supposing they are delayed because of the weather.

I made a green chili stew this morning, chicken enchiladas with white sauce, and Dennis's spanish rice. I also heated up the delicious refried beans from LaCasita. James and I had a wonderful lunch and we will have a refrigerator full of food for a few days.

Vernon had some more electrical outages because of the storm. Most of them seem to be on the other end of town.

Kim and Brian went to the David Arculetta Christmas concert this evening and Kim loved it. She said that it really put her in the mood for Christmas. She knows he is coming to Show Low on Monday and she wanted to encourage me to go see him. I would love too but I just don't know if it will work out.

We watched a Christmas movie this evening before going to bed as is our custom.

The sun trying to break through but it
didn't last.

Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives
President Russell M. Nelson
"Without our Redeemer's infinite Atonement, not one of us would have hope of ever returning to our Heavenly Father. Without His Resurrection, death would be the end. Our Savior's Atonement made eternal life a possibility and immortality a reality for all."

New Era:"Page After Page Says We Believe," "Three Helps for Being Your Happiest and Best Self" - Elder Cornish

This was my first day back on Family Search for awhile. I have lots of suggested tasks but most of them are dead ends unless I take the time to do some research.

I ironed two white shirts for James this morning, one for the temple tomorrow, and one for Church on Sunday.

I swept and mopped the kitchen and dining room floor. I made 4 dozen rolls, 3 dozen for the temple, and a dozen for the Peeler's.
Brother Peeler told us that Donna likes my "buns." I call them rolls.

I contacted 23 people about the ward party tomorrow night, and I made Lois's enchiladas for the party tomorrow night and put them in the frig. James called her and got a history of the recipe. Lois said about 70 years ago right after she was first married her cousin who was married to someone from Tijuana, Mexico that owned a restaurant invited her to dinner. They served her enchiladas and they were the best she had ever tasted. She tweeked the recipe and made a casserole instead of individual servings and her family loved it. She still makes them today at 90 years of age and her children and grandchildren make them for their families too.

This evening I typed James's eight page talk for sacrament meeting. I am afraid he is going to have to cut it down a bit. The talk is on personal revelation.

I got my 13,000 steps today and also had my green smoothie for dinner.

I watched an older Hallmark movie today starring Alicia Witt, "Backyard Wedding." I watched while I was typing James's talk so I didn't feel like I was wasting my time.

This is one of the reasons I stay on Facebook

Here is another one. This was last year when
we went to Scottsdale for our weekend at the
time share. We always go to Peter Piper Pizza.

I bet these guys could make the jump.
