Jesus Christ, Antemortal Existence of
John 8:58
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Alma 51: 22-37
How did the personal preparedness of each of Teancum's soldiers turn the tides of Amalickiah's success?
* Answer I found Instagram:
"I verse 33 Mormon tells us of Teancum's courage and how he put his life on the line for the benefit of the cause...
"Today I will work on being more courageous in doing what the Lord asks, even though it may seem hard.
"A team is only as good as its' weakest player. We all have to do our best for the good of the team, ward, family, etc."
DC 118:1-6
How can we always be ready to ask, "Show us thy will, O Lord: and then do it?
* I think verse three is key:...in all lowliness of heart, meekness and humility, we must preach the gospel, keep our covenants, listen to the Spirit and obey.
General Conference
Prepare the Way
Bishop Gerald Causse
" Too often we try to entertain our young men and relegate the to a spectator role, when their faith and love for the gospel can be best developed by magnifying their priesthood. By actively participating in the work of salvation, they will be connected with heaven and they will gain awareness of their divine potential."

Other gospel study that I did: Read from Sheri Dew's book, "Worth the Wrestle," studied the Gospel Doctrine lesson on "Eternal Marriage," read an article in the Ensign by Elder Andersen, "Divine Standard of Honesty."
Here on some notes I took on the article about honesty.
*Honesty is at the very heart of spirituality.
*We should be in the world but not of the world.
*I need to elevate my commitment to personal honesty.
*My actions should be consistent with what I know is right and wrong.
*Keep my word.
*Be righteous in the dark.

This afternoon while James was taking a nap I was sitting at the dining room table working on something when I heard a funny noise outside. I went to the window and there was a whirlwind tearing apart our greenhouse with plastic panels flying everywhere.
I went in to wake up James and we both go outside to gather up the panels. I jump on the Razr and find six right away. One was caught in a tree that we couldn't reach and a few were still missing so we both got on the Razr to search for them. We ended up at our neighbors, the Elkin's place. They weren't there so James took me for the tour. I told him I felt uncomfortable so he said that he had promised Mr. Elkin he would keep an eye on his place. He also said they spent $10,000 on their road. Wow! He is also digging a pond.
We figured at the price he said he paid that he got this 240 acres of land for $108,000.

Oops. I felt so bad for James. He worked so
hard on putting this together.

Rosie, Dr. Caldron's assistant called me today with my thyroid blood report. She said my thyroid was at 0 and I needed to see my doctor right away. No wonder I have been so tired and my hair has been falling out like crazy. James has an appointment in the morning with Dr. Moffat. I told him to please tell the doctor about my thyroid and he said he would.

We watched another episode of "Heartland."

The waterfall

Carly Elmer drowned 21 years ago today.  She would have been 4 a few days after she drowned.  Here is a picture of her sister Chelsea and Chelsea's boys at Carly's gravesite.
Carly and some of her family members.

Alma 13:21-14:5
21 . . . Now is the time to repent, for the day of salvation draweth nigh.
23 - . . . glad tidings are declared unto us . . .
24 - . . . angels are declaring it unto many, .. . . this is for the purpose of preparing the hearts of the children of men to receive His word at the time of His coming in His glory.
26 - It shall be made known unto just and holy men, by the outh of angels, at the time of His coming . . .
27 - . . . I wish from the inmost part of my heart, yea, with great anxiety even unto pain, that ye would hearken unto my words, and cast off your sins and not procrastinate the day of your repentance.
28 - But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on His holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear, and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering.
29 - Having faith on the Lord; having a hope that ye shall receive eternal life; having the love of God always in your hearts that ye may be lifted up at the last day and enter into His rest.
30 - And may the Lord grant unto you repentance, that ye may not bring down His wrath upon you, that ye may not be bound down by the chains of hell, that we may not suffer the second death.

Trina came and picked up Addy and Ruby this morning before nine because Ruby had cheerleading practice.  I wonder who she cheers for.

James left for awhile this morning but was back quite early.  We spent some quiet time alone at the resort.  I washed the sheets on the guest bed and washed towels while I was studying.  Around 3pm I left to buy birthday cards and some other commodities at Fry's.  I came back and cleaned until our guests arrived.

Kim, Brian and Joe were the first to arrive.  We had invited them over to play games.  Soon after Paul, Stacy, Michael and Joshua arrived.  Michael brought his ukulele and Joe brought his guitar.  They sang a few songs and sounded really great.  I forgot how good they harmonize and what great voices they have.  Such talent!
I love to hear these two sing together!
James and Kim enjoying the music.
Visiting between performances.
After the performance Kim, Brian, James, Joe,
Michael and I played a game of Five Crowns.
Paul ordered pizza and wings for his family.
Stacy took Joshua to swim until the lightning
scared them back inside.

When Joe, Kim, and Brian left I helped Michael and Joshua make up their beds on the two couches and then said goodnight.
It was a fun evening.

Good friends from the Vernon ward,
Becky and Chris Skousen.
Becky is the Primary President and my visiting teacher, and Chris is the High Priest Group Leader.

We got some snow last night and there is lots more scheduled for today.
James thinks that the leak in the basement has slowed down enough that we can leave for a couple of days  He goes out to start the car and it won't start.  He opens the hood and fins that a rat has built a nest on the engine and assumes that he chewed a wire in two.  He is able to jump the car so the rat has been falsely accused.

He loads up the car, including two Christmas trees, a tub of lost and found items and my Oreck vacuum which needs to be fixed.  We leftg the house at 11:20.
I wanted to go through Payson but the megatron said you either needed to have chains or a four-wheel drive.
  Tons of snow
Gorgeous
This picture was taken as we left Miami and were coming into Superior just before we got to the bridge.
I have never seen waterfalls here before!
Traveling was slow.  It took us five hours instead of our usual three and a half.  We stopped at Trina's house to say hi to her and the kids.  Then we headed to Goodwill on Pecos and Arizona Avenue to get rid of our old living room Christmas tree.  We then stopped at Stacy and Paul's to give them the tree they left at the cabin a few years back.  We visited for a few minutes and felt bad we didn't have a treat for Holly.  Next we went to Kim's and then Sheri's.  We had Taco Bell for dinner before finally arriving at Cathi and Terry's. The dogs were very happy to see us!  We stayed up and visited with them until about 10pm.
Throwback Thursday
I used to collect Hot Wheels and would have loved to
have this to display my cars.
The drugstore where I went almost everyday
after school for a baked ham sandwich and a cherry phosphate.

There is something about water that is so refreshing!

Moroni 10:4
"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, wit real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost."

Hopefully my children and grandchildren who have read the Book of Mormon are putting this promise to the test.  James and I started in 1 Nephi again today and will finish again in 90 days.  My lifelong quest is to learn all I can about Christ from the Book of Mormon.  I am also studying it on my own verse by verse and "finding" Christ.

James left for Jerod Bowen's this morning with Bob and was gone until early evening.  They are laying tile.  I worked on dusting and vacuuming around the fireplace today.  I was reminded how much I love my two Noah's Ark sets.
Most of the animals in this set are "shy"
and are hiding inside.

My visiting teacher, Laurie Jeppsen, brought me a pan of homemade cinnamon rolls last night while we were at Darrel's.  They are delicious, and dangerous, for someone who is trying to lose a little weight.

Dallin's performance at the Musical Instrument Museum is scheduled for April 23rd and 24th.  I really wanted to go but James says we can't afford it.  The cheap tickets are $35 a piece.  When I told Dallin he said it's because of the venue and the pianist they are performing with.

Stacy had bloodwork done this week and got a phone call today regarding the results.  Her sed-rate was high so she needs to go see a rheumatologist.  I feel so sad that my kids have inherited my health issues.

Joshua was hungry today....especially for pizza.
He ate all that by himself!
James and I started a new book today, by an author we have never read before.  Actually this is her first book.
And away we go on another adventure.
