Jesus Christ, Jehovah
D&C 128:9
It may seem to some to be a very bold doctrine that we talk of - a power which records or binds on earth and binds in heaven. Nevertheless, in all ages of the world, whenever the Lord has given a dispensation of the priesthood to any man by actual revelation, or any set of men, this power has always been given. Hence, whatsoever those men did in authority, in the name of the Lord, and did it truly and faithfully, and kept a proper and faithful record of the same, it became a law on earth and in heaven, and could not be annulled, according to the decrees of the great Jehovah. This is a faithful saying. Who can hear it?

1 Nephi 10:1-14

"Beloved Daughters"
Sister Bonnie H. Cordon
October 2019
"With the new class organization, all classes will be referred to by the unifying name of 'Young Women.' We will retire the names 'Beehive,''Mia Maid,' and 'Laurel.'
The final area I wish to address is the importance of class presidencies. No matter how Young Women classes are organized, every class should have a class presidency! It is divine design that young women are called to lead in their youth."

When I got up at 4:30 this morning it was 40 degrees outside. My shower gets me going. I sit at my desk and begin to review and write down the happenings of yesterday. When I am finished planning I pray over my plans. I wanted to work on "Inklings" the study with Emily Belle Freeman regarding the priesthood and the Restoration. Right now we are studying DC 107, but Emily had not posted for this week yet. She usually does it on Thursday morning but she is not an early riser.

Emily did have a post about the Savior:

Donuts for breakfast is never a good way to start the day, but that's what I did. Must get rid of sweets!

I'm still working on cleaning upstairs getting ready for Darrel and Trina's family tomorrow evening. The curtains in the common area and the ones in my office keep falling down. James bolted them to the wall so they will never fall again. Thanks Honey!

This afternoon I made rolls, minestrone soup and a salad for Pat Tedder and her son Jeff. At the last minute I decided to divide everything in half and take some to the Scott's too. Millie has fallen and broken two ribs and is in a lot of pain. I texted to check on Kathy Crane today but she is feeling much better and is actually serving in the temple today.

I made an apple pie for us. I started too late for everyone else. I peeled and cut up twelve apples. It took awhile, and then cooked them for a bit on the stove before putting them in a pre-made pie crust and then put it in the oven.

As I was working in the kitchen I looked up and realized that the rain that had been falling had turned in to snow. James and I were both surprised because snow was not in the forecast.

As I went in to the bedroom to make myself presentable to make deliveries, James finished packing everything up. Before we left around 5 pm I put the pie in the oven and set it to 350 instead of 375 in case we were gone for more than an hour.

We took because by now it was blizzard like conditions. First of all the truck is very difficult for me to get up in to. Once I was in my seat, James gave me one of the containers of soup to hold in my lap. His windshield wiper on the passenger side does not work so all I could see when I looked up was a big blob of snow on the windshield.

We were going to go to the Scott's first. We couldn't find their turnoff so we went to the Tedder's instead. James delivered the food because I had soup spilled on my pants and it is so hard for me to get up and down out of the truck. There was a container of soup, nine rolls, and a salad.

We went back up the road towards the Scott's. We had an epiphany and suddenly remembered you turn down 3151 to get to the Scott's. Jerry came out to the truck to thank me for the dinner. What a kind thing to do.

When we got home, the kitchen was a mess and James offered to clean it because my left foot was really hurting. I sat down to blogged and when the pie was done, that's what I had for dinner. James had had some soup earlier.

I still do not have my Tramadol.

Oct 2019 General Conference
"Witnesses, Aaronic Priesthood Quorums, and Young Women Classes"
President Russell M. Nelson
"You will remember that I have invited the youth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to enlist in the Lord's youth battalion to participate in the greatest cause on earth today - the gathering of Israel. I issued this invitation to our youth because they are unusually gifted in reaching out to others and sharing what they believe in a convincing fashion. The cause of the gathering is an essential part of helping to prepare the world and its people for the Second Coming of the Lord."

"Adjustment to Strengthen Youth"
Elder Quentin L. Cook
"Today we announce organizational changes for youth at ward and stake levels. As President Nelson explained, Sister Bonnie H. Cordon will discuss changes for young women this evening. One purpose for the changes I will now discuss is to strengthen Aaronic Priesthood holders, quorums, and quorum presidencies. These changes align our practice with Doctrine and Covenants 107:15, which read, 'The bishopric is the presidency of this Aaronic priesthood, and holds the keys or authority of the same."

"The truths of the Book of Mormon have the power to heal, comfort, restore, succor, strengthen, console and cheer our souls."
President Russell M. Nelson

From Sheri Dew's book "Women and the Priesthood":
Have you asked the Lord to teach you what it feels like when He's communicating with you through the Holy Ghost? The scriptures are the handbook for learning the language of revelation.

Evan is sick, he can't keep any food on his stomach. Brian gave him a blessing. Trina was working at Mercy Gilbert in the ER check-in. She got him checked in as quickly as she could. He was on a drip because he was dehydrated and then sent home. We are praying for him.

I went around and took the sheets off of all the beds in the house and washed and dried them all. This evening James helped me put them all back on the beds.

This morning I helped James put the Razr back in the garage. I have been asking him to do it for awhile. I steered it while he towed it with the truck to the driveway. The hardest part was getting it into the garage the last few feet. We had to push it, but we did it. James said he couldn't have done it without me. Was he saying that just to be nice? No, I think it was really a two person job.

I have taken a vacation from my book business but I am ready to get started up again. This morning I listened to the webinar. It's a slow start but I will get there.

James left after we got the Razr back in the house for New Mexico. Since he knows when his court date is, next Monday, he wants to do some research to make sure his statements are accurate when he goes before the judge. He was gone just a few hours, from about 10:15-1:30.

When he returned I read to him from Aunt Dimity Next of Kin and then he took a nap.

I got a text from our friend Kerri asking if she could come over for a few minutes. Of course I said yes. She is being audited because her mother lives with her. She had written a letter and wanted me to read it, which I did. There was one small error which she corrected. The letter explains why Kerri's mom needs to live with her.

Kerri helped James on his computer. She showed him how to transfer his old files to his new computer. He was grateful for her help.

The frustrations of living in the country include: muddy roads, and slow internet. The internet is driving us crazy right now.

Superstition Mountain,
another reason to visit Arizona.

Alma 48:19-49:8
19 - Helaman and his brethren did baptize unto repentance all men whosoever would hearken unto their words.
20 - The people humbled themselves because of their words.  For four years there were no war nor contentions.
21 - They were compelled reluctantly to contend with their brethren, the Lamanites.
25 - They could not bear that their brethren should rejoice over the blood of the Nephites, sl long as there were any who should keep the commandments of God, for the promise of the Lord was, if they should keep His commandments they should prosper in the land.
Alma 49
1 - In the 11th month, of the 19th year, on the 10th day of the month, the Lamanites were seen approaching towards the land of Ammonihah.
2 - The city had been rebuilt and Moroni stationed an army by the borders.
3 - The Lamanites thought it would be an easy target.
4 - The Nephites dug up a ridge of earth round about the city which was so high the Lamanites could not cast their stones and arrows that they might take effect, . . .
6 - The Lamanites had prepared themselves with shields and breastplates and thick garments of skin.
8 - But behold the Nephites were prepared for them in a manner which never had been known among the children of Lehi.

There was rain this morning for about an hour, and a beautiful rainbow.  It was a great way to start the day!

Made by Harold and Vickie

This handsome boy got braces today.

James and I made a trip to town around lunch time.  Whenever it's his turn to chose where we have lunch he chooses Darby's in Pinetop.  He had something off the lunch menu and I had lemon ricotta crepes off the breakfast menu.  They were delicious.

We also made a stop at Walmart/Home Depot and then a quick stop at Harbor Freight to look at log splitters.  We also went to Dennis's for more lawn blankets.  I visited with Harold and Vickie while James got the blankets.  They sold all of the items at The Hub last weekend and they were working on a table and benches.
On the way back home I read to James from our new book:

I succumbed to my desire for a diet drink today.  I drove to Stanifird to get it and also bought a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper 10's.  I am so weak.

Tricia posted this picture of Emmy at their new house in San Antonio.  I guess the house has several big trees.
I hope she doesn't fall.

And now, the final part of my post:
