Atonement
Mosiah 13:28
And moreover, I say unto you, that salvation doth not come by the law alone; and were it not for the atonement, which God himself shall make for the sins and iniquities of his people, that they must unavoidably perish, notwithstanding the law of Moses.

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Alma 47:20-36
Why did prior knowledge of the Lord cause the dissenters to forget the Lord their God?
*Instagram answer: Those who fell away from the gospel most likely also lost the influence of the Spirit. They sought after others who were in the same situation and as often happens they pulled each other down.  When you intentionally reject the gospel you set yourself up to drift here and there.
DC 109:61-80
How can we always be filled with joy and praise God ad the Lamb?
*Keeping the companionship of the Holy Ghost, which requires humility, repentance, forgiveness, and keeping the commandments. Through the Holy Ghost we can be filled with joy and praise for God and the Lamb.

The Trezise's are getting a dog!

His name is Oliver James.
The boys are so excited and so is Sheri!

James worked outside all morning long. We left for the valley around 12:30 after having another family prayer.

Our first stop was in Show Low to get gas and the car washed. Our first mishap occurred when the code wouldn't work in the carwash. James called the help number and the guy said to look for the attendant on duty. We looked. There wasn't one. We called again and the guy gave us his personal code, which worked. As we were sitting there all of a sudden we were both wet. The sky roof was not completely shut and was leaking all over us!  Finally we got it closed.
Our next stop was the Show Low post office to mail Molly's Moana doll. Jared sent us a text saying Molly had decided to be baptized and the date is September 9th.  James and I really want to go.

Before leaving town we stopped at Arby's to get something to eat. James got a turkey reuben and I got a salad. Finally we are on the road!  We have nothing to read but hopefully our new book will be waiting for us at Cathi's.

We had to make a 10-15 minute stop in Salt River Canyon for roadwork. We stopped at Burger House for two mixed greens and two green burros for Cathi and Terry. Of course we also had to get a couple for ourselves which we ate along the way. They were, of course, delicious!

When we arrive at Cathi and Terry's my four new purple Pioneer Woman goblets are waiting for me along with our new book by Sarah Eden, "Romancing Daphne." I only get to visit with Cathi a few minutes before it's time to go see Lois and Dawn. We stop and pick up food for Elmer's as both Dawn and Lois love their machaca tacos and burros.
The four of us eat diner together and we have a nice visit. Lois gives me back a Snow White doll I gave her along with an Anne of Green Gables and a grandma with a little girl. Dawn brings out a tray of miniature Madame Alexander dolls.

They said I could have whichever ones I wanted.
I picked out three from the Wizard of Oz to go
with the set I got from McDonald's a few years ago.
The Lollipop Guild boy, Elphaba, and  the Wizard
were the ones I chose.

When we get back to Cathi and Terry's she is watching a new show she loves called "Heartland." It is a series and I have been curious about it for a while. She loves it but she gets it on Netflix which we don't have so I order the first season on DVD.

Before going to bed I read a chapter from our new book, "Romancing Daphne."

This is true of Tramadol!

When Sheri announced they were getting a dog,
Brian said he wanted one. Kim posted this photo
and said: "You have one."

One thing I like about coming through Globe is
seeing Superstition Mountain when we hit
Apache Junction.

Vickie posted this picture on Facebook.
I love it!

Autumn had a sonogram today.
Kacey met her in Dallas and they went to the temple.

Alma 29:8-30:11
8 - The Lord doth grant unto all nations of their own nation and tongue to teach his word, in wisdom, all he seeth fit they should have.  The Lord counsels in wisdom all that is just and true.
9 - I glory in what the Lord hath commanded me.  (Alma is speaking).  Perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.
10 - My soul is filled with joy when I see the truly penitent come unto God. Then I remember what the Lord has done for me.
11 - The Lord delivered my father out of bondage and established His Church.
13 - That same God called me by a holy calling to preach His word unto this people.  He hath given me much success and my joy is full.
14 - I also joy in the success of my brethren.
15 - They have labored exceedingly and had much success among the Lamanites and how great is their reward.
17 - May God grant that my brethren may sit down in the kingdom of God . .  and that their converts will remain faithful.
Alma 30
2 - After the dead were buried from the war and after the days of fasting, mourning and prayer, there began to be peace in the land.
3 - The people kept the commandments and the law of Moses.  The 16th year was peaceful.
6 - At the latter end of the 17th year, there came an Anti-Christ, Korihor, into Zarahemla.  He began to preach against Christ.
7 - There was no law against a man's beliefs.
8 - The scripture saith: Choose ye this day whom ye will serve.
11 - There was a law that men should be punished according to their crimes but there was no law against a man's belief.

Its Happening - Texas Governor Calling For Convention of the States to Rein in Washington.
"Texas Governor Greg Abbot is calling for a Constitutional Convention of the States to bring Washington politicians back in line with the rule of law, and the spirit of the Constitution.

"If you are unfamiliar with what a Constitutional Convention is, it's pretty simple.  Article V of the Constitution makes it clear that Congress has the power to amend the Constituition by adding Amendments.  Most people understand that it is Congress, and not the president, no matter how mighty his pen or phone may be, that writes the laws.

"In addition, however, Article V also gives the same power to amend the Constitution to the states.  The states can convene, propose an amendment, and as long as there is a 3/4 agreement from the states, that amendment shall be ratified.

"The reason why this power of the states, although it has yet to be used, was added into the Constitution, was to prevent an out of control national government.  Many of the Founding Fathers recognized the power that a centralized government could grant itself if left unchecked, and so provided an outlet for the states to stop that power.  Governor Abbot said:
'The increasingly frequent departures from Constitutional
principles are destroying the Rule of Law foundation
on which this country was built.'

"He explained that the only cure to bring Washington back in line with the Constitution, was to utilize the powers granted in Article V.
'We are succumbing to the caprice of man that our Founders fought to escape.  The cure to these problems will not come from Washington D.C.
Instead, the states must lead the way.
To do that I am adding another item to the agenda next session.  I want legislation authorizing Texas to join other states in calling for a Convention of States to
fix the cracks in our Constitution.'
"According to a press release, Governor Abbott is proposing 9 additional amendments to the Constitution:

"1.  Prohibit Congress from regulating activity that occurs wholly within one state.
2.  Require Congress to balance its budget.
3.  Prohibit administrative agencies - and the unelected bureaucrats that staff them - from creating federal law.
4.  Prohibit administrative agencies - and the unelected bureaucrats that staff them - from preempting state law.
5.  Allow a two-thirds majority of the States to override a U.S. Supreme Court decision.
6.  Require a seven-justice super-majority vote for U.S. Supreme Court decisions that invalidate a democratically enacted law.
7.  Restore the balance of power between the federal and state governments by limiting the former to the powers expressly delegated to it in the Constitution.
8.  Give state officials the power to sue in federal court when federal officials overstep their bounds.
9.  Allow a two-thirds majority of the States to override a federal law or regulation."

I am so grateful that someone is actually trying to do something to stop the madness that is the federal government.  Kudos to Governor Abbott!

I went to visit at Dennis and Denise's today.  Jenifer and her kids, Amanda, Lizzy, and Sammy are there visiting from Texas.  We had a nice visit and Jenifer said she would like to come out and see our place sometime next week.  She said that Lizzy is a piano prodigy and would like for her to come out and play for us.  I am all for that idea.  I told Sammy and Lizzy I would take them on a Razr ride.  I had to show them a picture of the Razr because they had know idea what it was.
Dennis's remodeled shower is like a water park with water coming
for the ceiling and both sides.

I stopped by Taco Bell and got two toastados each, without cheese, for James and I for dinner.  After dinner I read from "The Washington Hypothesis", and "The Lincoln Hypothesis", both by Timothy Ballard.

This is the first time since I can remember that I did not have any soda all day long.  This Word of Wisdom book is really having an affect on me.
