I love President Hinckley!

James woke up with abdominal pains.  He had them yesterday but today he says they are worse.  I convinced him he needed to go to the emergency room so he got ready to go.  He went outside only to find he had a flat tire.  He changed the tire and then said he needed to go to Discount Tire to get some new tires and didn't know how he would do that and go to the emergency room.  I had planned on cooking most of the day as the missionaries were supposed to come over for dinner, but I felt going with James was more important, so I got ready and off we went.
We stopped at Discount Tire where James ordered three new tires.  I then drove him to the hospital and did a little shopping at Walmart before heading back to Discount.
James is waiting for them to do a scan to see if he has diverticulitis.  I was stressing about the missionaries so I called and told them we would have to cancel.  I spoke with Brother Bomer who was very concerned and told me not to worry about it.  I felt better after talking to him, but I really do hate to let people down.
While the new tires were being mounted I walked over to KFC for some lunch.  While there I saw and spoke to one of our Young Women, Arizona.
I got to the hospital just as James was leaving his room.  They had done the test and determined it wasn't diverticulitis and were releasing him to go home.  The doctor said he probably just pulled a muscle.  James thinks he may have some kind of a virus.
On the way home I tried to call the missionaries to see if they wanted us to bring them some food, but they didn't answer.  James stopped to get something at KFC.  I didn't  eat because I had already started my fast.  Hopefully we will get to feed the missionaries again soon.
They always leave a message and bring a wonderful spirit into
our home.

This evening I listened to the best General Women's Conference that I can ever remember!  They were talks I absolutely needed to hear, especially Sister Marriott's and President Uchtdorf's.  I was crying when the meeting was over.  I also enjoyed a group of Primary girls from Korea singing "I love to see the Temple" and the choir of women and girls singing "I Know that My Savior Loves Me", and "I Know that My Redeemer Lives."  I went to bed feeling so uplifted and full of the Spirit.

In Chandler, Dallin, Joseph and Joseph's friend Amanda, all performed at SoZo's.

I have some very talented grandsons!

James and I had lunch at the Which Wich in Chandler.  He liked it but he still prefers Jersey Mike's.

James finished painting the living room today and did the cleanup.  It looks really good.  We need to try and clean the carpet, get a new fan, and fix the shutters.  I hope the carpet comes clean.  If it doesn't we will have to buy some new.

I forgot to mention that when I was at Walmart yesterday I bought James some pants, a shirt, and shoes.  The shoes were too small so I had to take them back today.  While James was gone to the dump I walked to Kohl's and got him a new pair of Fila tennis shoes.  They fit perfectly and he loves them.  He says they are very comfortable.

This afternoon I worked outside in the front yard.  I watered all the plants and cleaned off the front porch and carport.  Stacy started sanding the front door.  I also asked her to clean the baseboards inside.  Right now our house is not on the market although the Presidential Realty sign is still in our yard.  We are working with another realtory, Jennifer Maclay and she gave us a list of things to clean up and fix up.  We've only just begun.  Oh yes, I forgot to mention that James treated all of the weeds in the front yard.

This evening James took me to the Waffle Love truck for waffles even though he really didn't want to go.  It was on the southeast corner of Greenfield and Germann.  Stacy, Paul, and Joshua went too.  We stood in line for awhile and paid eight dollars for waffles but they were delicious.  I had the waffle with biscoff, strawberries, raspberries and cream.  James had the nutella, bananas and cream.  He liked it but didn't eat all of it.  This was fun but such a novelty.

We watched Joseph and Michael perform at SoZo's tonight.  SoZo's is a little coffee house in Chandler.  On Friday nights they have open mike and anyone can sign up.  They sang two songs, the first was by Guster, "Rise and Shine", and the second was an Everly Brothers hit from the 60's, "Dream."  They dedicated it to James because Michael said he introduced them to their music.  So sweet.

James missed watching the Meateater show with Ian tonight but I am sure they will be able to do it another time.  James and I are both ready to go home but we are staying to watch ballgames tomorrow.
Sweet little Ruby
So funny.

I got an early start this morning.  I cleaned my old office and the game room.

I had lunch at Serrano's today with Karen Schneider and Jackie Hall.  It was for Jackie's birthday.  The big news right now is about Karin Gonda Westerman and her husband Steve.  He has been diagnosed with brain cancer and is beginning treatments.  Karin is expecting their first baby.  She has had complications with her pregnancy, she lost amniotic fluid and so she is in the hospital here in Chandler while he is in the hospital in Scottsdale.  It is a very trying time for this couple who have not even been married a year yet.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.

It was nice to visit with my good friends Jackie and Karen.  We are sorry that Janis Willis couldn't join us.  We were a foursome back in the day.

Sheri got off work early to help me today.  She carried up all the stuff I had stacked in the game room.  I vacuumed downstairs and Stacy vacuumed and cleaned the wood floors upstairs.  Around 5pm our neighbor Jason came to see the house with his wife.  I went down to Sheri's and hung out with her and Kim in Sheri's bedroom.  She has a nice bed and a cozy chair to sit in.  James said Jason would let us know by Monday if he was interested in buying the house. Joe was also at Sheri's and he and Kim just happend to have on the same shirt.
Like mother, like son.  Look how tall Joe is!

Sheri, Kim, and Brian help us load about 300 or so cans in the back of our truck.  We will have to put the rest in a trailer.

We invited Brian and Kim to dinner at Pei Wei but they declined.  Sheri, James and I had a great time at Pei Wei.

The boys, Michael and Joseph sang at Sozo tonight.  Sorry we missed it but I was exhausted.

Trina posted this picture of her kids taken before going to the ward Trunk or Treat.  I love it!!
