John 12:41
These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
Helaman 14:1-19
*How can we always be preparing for the Second Coming of Christ?
-Repentance is of the utmost importance in preparing to meet the Savior. After we recognize our sins we must feel sorrow for them and abandon them. We need to confess our sins to the Lord, and also in some cases, to the proper Priesthood authority. We need to ask forgiveness if we have offended someone and to the best of our ability make restitution for the sin. we need to strive daily to keep the commandments and recognize our need for a Savior. We need to know the signs of His coming so that we are prepared both temporally and spiritually. We need to do all we can on a daily basis to strengthen our testimonies of Him and serve others in an effort to become more like Him.

DC 10:5
Pray always, that you may come off conqueror; yea, that you may conquer Satan, and that you may escape the hands of the servants of Satan that do uphold his work.

Value Beyond Measure
Sister Joy D. Jones
A sister from India said:
"Before I had the gospel in my life I was always trying to prove to others that I was someone special But when I learned that truth, that I am a daughter of God, I didn't have to prove anything to anyone. I knew that I was special ... Don't ever think that you are nothing."  President Monson said it perfectly when he quoted these words: "The worth of a soul is it's capacity to become as God."

James went out looking for elk this morning. He said he saw four cows and a bull.  The bull was actually by himself. While he was gone I made some lasagna soup with Italian sausage. I turned out delicious. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

I washed the outside of some of the windows today. I have been going to do this for a long time, but just hadn't gotten around to it.

I went to town today by myself so James could stay home and work on the patio. I bought the rest of the stuff I needed for Alice's candy bouquet. Today is her 16th birthday.

The finished product.
Her mom told me that she liked Reese's and Almond Joys.
Later Alice told me she is allergic to coconut so she gave the Almond Joy's to her mom. Maybe that we Sandra's plan all along.

Happy Sweet Sixteen Alice!
(Alice is on the left)

We called to see if anyone was going to be home. Sandra said she was there but when we went to deliver no one answered the door so we left it in the car.

Today was my first day of doing the 10,000 steps program with my app, Pacer. I did really well with no pains in my knees.

Tonight was Guilty Pleasures night on "DWTS." Lindsey Stirling said her guilty pleasure, is she had one, would be staying in her pajamas all day.
Their dance was the best!!

We also watched an episode of Heartland, "True Enough."

O How Great the Plan of Our God!
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

"Think of how you felt when for the first time you believed and understood that you are truly a child of God; that Jesus Christ willingly suffered for your sins so that you may be clean again;
that priesthood power is real and can bind you to your loved ones for time and for all eternity; that there is a living prophet on the earth today.  Isn't that wonderful and amazing!"

"Come, Follow Me" by Pracicing Christian Love and Service
By Elder Robert D. Hales

"Brothers and sisters, if we have not fully done so yet, let us turn more toward forgiveness, kindness, and love.  Let us renounce the war that so often rages in the heart of the natural man and proclaim Christ's caring love, and peace."

Today Paula J. bore her testimony in our fast and testimony meeting.  She said she just celebrated her 62nd birthday by going to the temple for the very first time to do baptisms for the dead.  You could have knocked me over with a feather.  I had no idea she had never been to the temple.  You could tell it was a wonderful experience for her and I am so grateful she shared it with her ward family.

James also bore his testimony for the first time in a long time.  He bore testimony of the importance of keeping the Sabbath day holy and of home and visiting teaching.  I am grateful for a righteous priesthood holder in my home.

Today my Primary class consisted of: Jace, Lianna, Colter, and Curtis.  Our lesson was on the printing of the Book of Mormon.

It was a very cold and extremely windy day today.  As I was walking out to the car from the church after our meetings I felt like I was going to blow away!

When we got home we broke our fast with the green chili burros we got at Burger House yesterday.  After lunch it was nap time, gospel study time, and then reading to James by the fire and working on my blog. While I worked on my blog James did a little indexing.
Sometimes those words are hard to see.

I like my new fruit stand

I had a hard time going to sleep tonight.  I finally got up and ate a little something and took some Tramadol around 11 p.m.

2 Nephi 10:18-11:8
These verses show, quite simply, that we only have two sides to choose between: the Lord's side, or the Devil's.  Why then is it so difficult for us to make the right choices when we're presented with what the devil wants?

How can we better prepare and not be afraid to endure to the end?
GC:  'The Great Plan of Redemption' by Linda S. Reeves
"Elder Jeffrey R. Holland declared:
'Hoever late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made..., or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love.  It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ's Atonement shines.'"
GC:  'To Whom Shall We Go?' by Elder M. Russell Ballard
"Where will you go to be taught about a Savior who is your best friend, who not only suffered for your sins but who also suffered pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind so that His bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities, including, I believe, the infirmity of loss of faith?"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHERI!

The many faces of Sheri:

At Home

At Work

At lunch with family

 On a school field trip

On a hike with friends

She has a lot of friends

more friends

On the phone

With Lola

 She loves her boys!

They love her too!

I know I kind of over did it with all the Sheri pictures but I seem to have a lot of  them.

James chopped some wood today and then went to the post office to see if my mail order prescriptions had come.  We forgot that today was a holiday and the post office was closed.

I did a lot of cleaning today and also fixed dinner.  I was on a roll!  We had toastadas with flour tortillas and leftover stew.
After dinner we had FHE.  We listened to Bishop Davies conference talk: "The Blessings of Worship."
We read from our book, "Lady of the Lakes" and then watched a Hallmark movie, "Love Blossoms," starring Victor Webster, my favorite male Hallmark actor!

Fun Photos

This picture has an eerie, surreal look.
I love the many faces of Arizona.

Watch out world, here they come!
