James and I left for the valley at 6 o'clock this morning. James is going to check on jobs in Glendale, the job at 51st Avenue and the Glendale airport. I have an appointment to have my eyes checked at Chandler Eyecare. We went the Salt River Canyon way and James promised we would go home through Payson.

James dropped me off at Chandler Eyecare and then he headed for Glendale, about 40 miles, or more, away.

I walked in and Nancy Van Vleet came over to give me a hug. Sheri was in the back and one of the girls went to get her. Sheri gave me a hug and then she and Nancy helped me to pick out new glass frames.
The frames are wire and have a rose gold tint to them. I really like them. Sheri says they are coming from Italy and may take awhile. She also said they are only going to cost $10 because of all the discounts she is getting me. I hope she is telling the truth and not paying for them without me knowing.

My appointment was with Dr. VanOver who is Sheri's age. Everyone in this office looks so young, except for Nancy and she is still younger than I am. Dr. VanOver tells me how much she loves Sheri and she hopes that she doesn't retire or leave as long as she is here. Dr. V also has two kids, a girl and a boy. The girl is Adalyn and the boy is Rowan. I told her that those were awesome names!

After my exam Sheri and I went to lunch. She ask me if I wanted to go to Firebirds for Mother's Day and I told her no, I just wanted to go to Cafe Rio. We each got a sweet pork taco and Sheri got rice and beans and chips with queso dip for us to share. Everything was delicious. I really liked the chips and queso. Sheri paid for everything and I thanked her. I called Stacy to see if she wanted Sheri to bring me to her house but she said she wasn't home and the house was locked. She is out making Grub Hub deliveries and she will pick me up at Chandler Eyecare when she is finished.

This time while I was waiting I spoke with Hilary Jiminez. She told me about her girls. Evie is at BYU and is interested in helping people by using equine therapy. I guess she loves horses. I think she is majoring in psychology. Elisa is in Utah at a different school and she is in pre-law. Elena is a senior in high school and she works here at Chandler Eyecare in the afternoons.

After Hilary left Stacy came in. She visited a few minutes and we even got to see Doctor Carpenter whom she went to high school with. He is her same age and they were also in our ward.

Stacy and I drove to Kim and Brian's where Kim had some coconut lime cake waiting for us.

James called me and said he had a blowout on the freeway. We brought my car because it takes less gas. He said he was behind a truck and a piece of metal fell off the truck and he ran over it. This happened one other time recently when he brought my car down. Now we have to drive home on the donut.

The weather was nice and sun shiny today with the high around 100. A little high. What happened to the 80's and 90's?

Kim's cake was really good. Tiger her cat was laying next to her and I noticed there was something different about him. His entire body was shaved. Kim said his fur was all matted and he wouldn't let her take care of it so they had to take him to the vet. Here is a picture.

I guess he gets cold and Kim covers him in
a blanket. That's why he was sitting by her on the couch.

Stacy had to leave so I thanked her for picking me up. After she left Brian showed me the table and tray he made in his woodworking class. I wish she could have seen them.

Cherry wood. Now they need some new chairs
The others are for a high table. They borrowed the
folding chairs from the church.

I told James I need a tray like this one.

James came and Brian showed him his table and tray. James was impressed.

James and I left Kim and Brian's and headed for Costco. James wanted pomegranate juice. I wanted lemon covered almonds and almond pastries. While James was checking out I went over to the food court and got us each a piece of pizza and a drink to share. I got James cheese pizza and I got myself pepperoni. I ate all of the cheese and pepperoni off the top and threw the crust away. From the Chandler Costco we got onto the 101 heading north. We listened to our book, "The Reluctant Baronet." We stopped in Payson for gas.

On top the rim before we got to Heber there was still lots of snow and puddles of water. There were lots of pot holes that had been patched and a sign with upcoming road construction. It was about 7:30 when we got home.

James immediately went to feed Luna and I changed into my comfy clothes. After putting everything away we walked and listened to our book. I only had 2,500 steps. By the time I was finished I had over 10,000.
