The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, evan a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame. . . . And then shall the righteous shine forth in the kingdom of God.

"Once we align ourselves with Christ and Heavenly Father, the true God, we are at enmity - enemies - with the devil, and he will use every resource at his disposal to injure and destroy us, including targeting our children. There is no mercy in him, only eternal hatred."

I got up at 6:00 this morning and was miserable. I had my prayer and then breakfast so I could take some Tramadol.

Willy and Ralph came early this morning to work on the stable. They have given so much service to us. We are taking them, their wives and Lynn and Roger Wallace to dinner next week. It is a small token of our appreciation.

Today is my cousin Rita's birthday. She turned 75 and I hope she got the card I sent her.

Wally and Ralph came this morning to work on the stable. We are so grateful for the work they are doing. We are taking them, their wives and the Wallace's out to dinner next week as a small token of our appreciation.

Jared Ammon was working on sanding the rails on the balcony off of Darrel & Trina's room.

James finally has an appointment today with Dr. Ellsworth about his thumb. The doctor said it was bone and bone and wanted to schedule surgery. James opted to get a cortisone shot instead.

For lunch I made grilled ham & cheese sandwiches and soup.
James spent the afternoon changing the oil in the Razr.

Jared tried to saddle Luna but she was protesting. James came over to help and Luna started bucking but James did not let her get away with that. Once she was saddled and Jared was riding her, she was fine.

I made a new casserole for dinner called French Onion Chicken casserole. It took awhile to put together and then needed to cook 1 1/2 hours. I should have started sooner. We didn't eat until after 7.
I also made Texas Roadhouse green beans. The guys both liked the chicken and said I should make it again.

Jared ran 3x today.

Heather passed away shortly after this.
Arizona was one of my young women.

April General Conference
"One in Christ" by Elder D. Todd Christofferson

I got up at six, said my prayers and got something to eat so I could take some Tramadol. At 7:00 I turned on the Zoom broadcast of Charlie's Primary Program. She was sitting on the front row. Much of the program is the children singing and I could see Charlie singing all of the songs. She loves to sing and is so good at it!

The first song was "Heavenly Father, Are You Really There" and was sung by a family. There were some children speaking afterwards and then the children sang "Jesus Once Was a Little Child." More speaking and then the son "Keep the Commandments". This time I knew one of the children. the last one to speak in this group was Ezra who was one of the Cardon's boys who came to Charlie's birthday party. Afterwards the children sang, "Faith is Knowing". Jonathan, Ezra's brother, and Charlie were in the next group of children to speak. Charlie: "I show Jesus I love Him and have faith in him by doing what's right." I didn't recognize the next song but one line started out, "Did Jesus... Children speaking and then "The Holy Ghost is my Eternal Friend." Afterwards some children spoke about the Holy Ghost. "Be True, Be True." Children speaking about choosing the right. The last song was "I Can Follow God's Plan for Me."

James and I really enjoyed the program and seeing Charlie sitting on the front row. Towards the end the camera panned out and we could see Jared & Kacey sitting in the audience. Thank you Jared for sending us the link.

We left for stake conference in Lakeside a little before nine. We got there around 9:45 and as we were looking for a place to sit President Beeler got up and announced that the choir would be singing. Everyone got quiet and the choir sang three numbers before it was time for conference to start. They sang, "Take Time to Be Holy", "I Feel My Savior's Love", and "I Know that My Redeemer Lives."
They sounded beautiful.

President Beeler conducted the meeting. The opening song was "On This Day of Joy and Gladness" and the opening prayer was given by Sister Knippers.
New Melchizedek Priesthood holders sustained - President Alder.
"The Lord is My Shepherd" stake choir.
President Smithson - Back packing to Havasupai. Saw elders while walking out. They said, "You are on the right path." The Savior knows where I am on the Covenant Path. DC4, Ether 12, Moroni 7:20, Mark 9:20-22, Luke 17:17, Mark 10:46, Enos 1:8. Faith in Christ is a principle of power through which all miracles are performed. Woman with the issue of blood, Ten lepers, Bartimaeus, and Enos. Faith led you to come here. Move forward in faith and Christ will access you with power. Center your faith on Christ. Our prayers will be answered in a way that is best for us. President Nelson has asked us to study Jesus's life, believe Him, act in faith, and participate in sacred ordinances. Ask self: "What would I do if I had more faith?"

Don Adams, young man -  17 years old. FSY experiences this summer. Friends can bring you up or down. Excited to go to FSY and so were my friends. Stay strong, remember why I am here; to get closer to Jesus and the Holy Ghost. Make good choices. Make heartfelt effort in order to progress. Write down what you are leaving so you will remember. Jesus Christ is my best friend.

Sierra Penrod. Just graduated from high school and has been called to serve in the Lisbon, Spain mission. Hope is trust, faith, and having a positive expectation. Sierra did her first trek was with a broken ankle. FSY - Learned about Atonement of Christ and the pain that led up to it.

Sister Morrison - Reading the Book of Mormon everyday keeps temptation away. Ether 12:23. I love my Savior. I am thankful for all who have made sacrifices for the gospel.

"Come Ye Children of the Lord"

Sister Stratton, Matron of the Flagstaff mission. She had a love for the Book of Mormon in her youth. I joy in sharing what I know to be true. Record and reflect. Grateful for Joseph Smith and the living prophet today, President Nelson. Grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ.

President Stratton, President of the Flagstaff mission.
D&C 18:10 - Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God. Mark 4 Savior teaching from a boat. Story about boy from Arizona serving in Mexico. "Magnify your calling."

President Alder. Well done is better than well said.
President Nelson,  "Peacemakers Needed." True disciples are peacemakers.1) Always express feelings with love. Matthew 18:15. "How can I better destroy my enemies than making them my friends." - Abe Lincoln. 2) Don't think you have all the answers. "Living the culture of Christ by being covenant conscious." 3) Don't compete. The only race we are in is the race against sin. Do we look to complement rather than criticize. 4) Don't rigorously defend you position. Phoenix temple - woman opposed ended up joining the Church. 5) Let the Spirit guide your conversations.  Do I listen to respond or do I listen to understand? Pahoran is a good example. 6) Be filled with charity. Never let a problem to be solved be more important than a person to be loved. - President Monson. Look inside. Cleanse the inner vessel. Christ is the constant in all good relationships.

"Let Us All Press On"

President Beeler - Emotionally expresses thanks to Sister Alder and the choir.
Talked about the importance of pruning fruit trees but not over-pruning. (See Jacob 5). There needs to be a balance. Focus on things that matter most. When we simplify we intensify. DC 84 Sanctified by the Spirit to magnify my discipleship. Focus and remove the unimportant. We need to focus on eternal things. DC 130. Sociality, relationships, love God and love others. What can we take with us. Knowledge. Take a walk with Christ through our morning prayers and scripture study. Don't be a lazy learner. We will also take our character. Take out the natural man and become more useful to the Lord. Mighty changes preceded by minor changes. Repentance happens through Jesus Christ. We cherish the gift of repentance is in the Young Women's theme. I know that Russell M. Nelson is a Prophet of God.

"Press Forward Saints"
Benediction - Sister Pike

It was a beautiful day here in the White Mountains. It rained on us on the way home from Lakeside and the closer we got to Vernon the more it rained. It even hailed in some places. I think this is the best rainstorm we have had all summer!

This evening James and I went to visit the Peeler's. Donna hurt her back on top of having cancer treatment and has been pretty much confined to her chair. I offered to stay with her whenever Owen needs to go somewhere and they seemed appreciative. They are going to New Mexico this coming Friday to a burial for Owen's sister in Farmington. I guess Owen makes a bed in the back of the car for Donna. She said something that concerned me. She said that she was just getting over their recent trip to the valley and now they would be going again. Getting old and having cancer is no fun!

We had shrimp and veggies for dinner.

Three temples were dedicated today; Brasilia, Brazil, Bentonville, Arkansas, and Moses Lake, Washington.

Another fraud report, this time someone used my debit card. This is the fourth time I've had someone use one of my cards since June.

I needed to go to town to get groceries and James told me if I waited until 10:30 he would go with him. I waited and off we went a little before 11. James dropped me off at Walmart and he went over to Lowe's without realizing that I am the one that had the key to the car. After shopping at Lowe's he came back out to the car and that's when he realized he did not have the key. He called me and informed me of the situation and began walking back over to Walmart. I gave him my key and then he walked back to Lowe's while I checked out.

On the way home we started the new book in our Barrington family series. It is called: "At Heaven's Door."

When we got home James made a trip to the dump and then left for his 3:00 stake leadership meeting in Lakeside. While he was gone I made some beans so he would have something to eat when he got home. We Zoomed the adult session of stake conference on my computer. It was fine except we couldn't hear any of the music. Tomorrow morning we will be attending at the stake center.

I was up at 5:08 this morning. I put Allen Trejo's name on the Snowflake temple prayer roll. Allen is Sue Hubble's nephew.

I was going to go grocery shopping today but it never happened. I just didn't feel prepared so instead I made out a weekly menu. It looked something like this:
1. Roast with carrots and potatoes and celery.
2. Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes with green beans.
3. Calico baked beans.
4. Pulled pork with Asian Salad, beans, and mashed potatoes.
5. Baked Ziti, salad, french bread and apple dump cake.
6. French Onion Chicken casserole.
7. Carne asada.

I bought veggies in honor of James: squash, peas, beets, broccoli, green beans, cauliflower, and zucchini.

I cleaned the floors again today. The guys track in so much dirt and mud!

James went into town to get lumber for the stable and had a bit of a mishap. As he was turning from White Mountain Blvd. on to the Deuce of Clubs on the corner by Verizon and the WaFed bank the strap on his lumber came loose and his load of lumber went flying off the trailer, stopping traffic. Several guys stopped to help him. He pulled the truck into the parking lot of the WaFed bank to get it out of the way. Once the lumber was all back on the trailer one of the guys who helped gave James a new strap to replace the old one that broke. Thank goodness for kind people!

This is the same corner where I had my accident in high school. Our bus dropped us off on the corner of White Mtn. Blvd. and the Deuce of Clubs. My friends and I would walk across the Deuce of Clubs to the Show Low Drugstore which is now the Dominoes pizza. As I was walking across the highway with a load of books in my arms I tripped and fell right in the middle of the Deuce of Clubs, my books flying all over the ground. A couple of my friends came to help me but they were laughing so hard they weren't much help. The worse thing that happened was a semi-truck came along and blew his horn at me. I had on the hot pink skirt and hot pink jacket top my Nannie had made me so you couldn't miss the pink, Pepto Bismo blog in the middle of the road. Still, to this day, it was my most embarrassing moment.

Happy Birthday James

And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but is the same God who worketh in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them. . . . And I would exhort you, my beloved brethren, that ye remember that every good gift come of Christ.

I got a call from my friend Sue Hubble this morning. She is my friend whose daughter just passed away as the result of an inoperable brain tumor. This time it is Sue's nephew. He tried to commit suicide and is in the hospital at the trauma center in El Paso. This is the nephew who went on the cruise with Sue and he has autism. He just started college and doesn't like it. His mother found him after he shot himself in the stomach. Thank goodness he is still alive. Sue is going down to Silver City to take care of her sisters horses while her sister stays with her son at the hospital. Sue is taking Kaitylyn (6) and Sky (4) with her. She called me because she said she needed someone to talk to. I am glad she considers me a friend she can confide in.

Dennis loaned his Blazer to one of his friends and now he can't find the friend or get in touch with him. He thinks that this friend may take the Blazer to Ohio to his sons wedding. Dennis, Denise and Peg, Denise's mom are leaving on a trip to North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin in a day or so. Dennis doesn't have time to look for his Blazer.

Jared Ammon cleaned out the gutters today and he and James fixed the gutter that was broken over the garage door. I am so grateful that Jared is here helping us. I have waited so long for these gutters to be cleaned out.

I watched Inklings this morning with Rio and Emily Snyder discussing the talk, "Remember What Matters Most" by President Ballard. Here are some of the notes that I took:
Covenants involve relationships. We can disagree but not be disagreeable. Find connecting moments. Love is a choice. In our relationships we need to: nourish, savor, grow, repair and learn from each other. Discern which things are trivial and which are meaningful. Speaking to the elderly .. who can I learn from who is wise in their years? Listen to promptings of the Spirit. How do we let others be seen. "I want to hear your story." Connecting conversations by asking questions. Be proactive as President Ballard did when seeking out his wife.
Knowing who we are with God brings strength to our other relationships. Involve the Spirit. Choose charity. Jesus Christ is the buffer.

James and Jared Ammon went to town this afternoon, I'm not sure why but James picked up my prescriptions and a box of cherry Dilly bars for me.

I made meatloaf, baked potatoes, and green beans for dinner. It was a popular choice.
