We left around 9:15 this morning for Chandler. My appointment at Dr. Douglas's is at 1:00. We stopped for gas in Show Low and were on our way. It's a good thing we left a little bit early because we had two construction stops along the way. Of course we took the 60, through Salt River Canyon, James's favorite way. We read a sign that said the road between Superior and Miami would be closed next Thursday, November 7th, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. I told James to take note because that's the day we are coming down to see Liz Kelly a.k.a Sister Bush.

I was not feeling well when I arrived at Dr. Douglas's. I ate some breakfast this morning and then took all of my pills. I think the Tramadol I took make me dizzy and nauseous. Going through Salt River didn't help the problem. I told Melissa, the assistant that I wasn't feeling well so she offered me a granola bar. I ate less that half and my stomach was so upset that I went to the bathroom and threw up. For I few minutes I thought I was going to have to reschedule my appointment. It took some grinding to get my temporary crown off. I could tell that Dr. Douglas was a little upset with Melissa for putting it on so snugly. She is usually so calm and laid back. Soon Melissa said, "It's out!" Dr. Douglas made the comment, "Yeah, two hours later." It wasn't two hours but was longer than it should have been.

I wasn't feeling great but my stomach had calmed down a bit. The permanent crown needed to be sanded down but was much easier to get in than the temporary one had been to get out.

While all this was going on Chris got on the phone and got me an appointment to have my bad tooth extracted next Friday morning with Dr. Shah. Melissa said if Dr. Shah had been busy they would have gone to Dr. Ray. I said, what is Dr. Ray's first name, she said Andrew. I said oh no, I knew him as a kid and his brother is my daughters dentist. Dr. Douglas seemed to know all about the Ray family and she told Melissa that Ray Road was named after them. I said yes and they have had four generations go to Chandler High School. Ward Ray, Mario, Brennan and now Adam.
Melissa. Dr. Douglas was Flo, the
Progressive Insurance girl. I did not
get a picture of her.

As I went to check out Chris at the front desk said, "that will be $806. Dr. Douglas said something to her and Chris said to me that will be $403. I guess Dr. Douglas was giving a discount for having me sit so long while they got the temp crown out. I was most grateful and will be sending her a thank you note!

James was waiting for me downstairs when I got out. He had already been to Culver's and got some fish and a vanilla milkshake, which means we aren't going to Olive Garden.  Melissa said I should wait 30 or 40 minutes before I ate, but by this time I was really hungry. In n Out Burger sounded good so I had James drive to the one on Gilbert and Germann. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a regular Sprite. We drove over to Deseret Book so I could see if they had any conference Ensigns. No, they aren't out yet. I bought a couple of bookmarks and went outside to finish my burger. I asked James to drive to Discovery Park, which he did. He rested while I finished eating and then we drove over to Sheri's to see Evan for his birthday.

Alex dropped Evan off and then drove away. We went inside after Evan and Ollie and Ziggie greeted us. Ziggie is much smaller than I imagined. Ollie was barking at us, but Ziggie was not. What a cute little dog.

Evan wanted to go to Jersey Mike's and we invited Max to go with us. Poor James, this is one of his favorite places to eat, and he can't eat anything here right now.

Max ordered a giant sandwich. It looked like it could feed four people. Evan ordered a regular. Max said he needed to go home to eat because he forgot his insulin. That was fine. When we got back to Sheri's, she was there and so was Alex and Shayna. They are all going to Ian's mom's house. She decorates her entire front yard for Halloween. She has not done it for the past five years since JD's death. She's doing it this year and she wants everyone to come over.

We said our goodbyes and headed for Darrel's house. We have a date to go trick-or-treating at 6 p.m.

Addy answered the door when we got to Darrel's. She was in her costume and she and some friends were eating pizza and cupcakes. Rowan was leaving with his friend Graham to go trick-or-treating. He was dressed like Squint.

Squint from Sandlot and Grampa. I guess Rowan
wasn't too happy. He wanted to go to a friend's
party but his friend Graham wanted to go trick
or treating.

Addy said her dad wasn't home he had already left and her mom
got off work and was with him. At first I thought they had left us but they were at a friends house. We caught up with them down the street a ways. Ruby had on her roller blades and went ahead with her friend most of the time. Lola and her friend Ivy were together most of the evening. Ivy's mom had Ivy's little sister and Ruby was with her older sister.

After the trick or treating was over James and I walked around the green belt a couple of times to get the rest of our steps.

I got up early this morning and made a couple of loaves of pumpkin bread. I wanted to take one to Tanna, Sister Dye's granddaughter. I also filled out a homemade Halloween card to give her. I plan on going by after James's doctor's appointment in town.

Anthony reported this morning that it was 6 degrees outside at his house. He recently put insulation in his floor and he said normally before the insulation it would be a little warmer than it was outside. This morning it was 78 degrees. The low here in Vernon last night was 13 degrees.

The Washington Nationals won the World Series for the first time last night. They beat the Houston Astros. Congratulations!

I got an email from French Bruce this morning. He is pushing for us to send a certificate of sale for one of the cemetery plots. We told him the bank had not cleared the check. James told him because it was not a certified check that it would take two weeks before we would send the certificate. James talked to the bank and they said that was the period of time in which the writer of the check could stop payment on the check. We did not hear from French Bruce anymore today. I am pretty sure this is a scam but James is still holding on to some hope.

James had an appointment at Dr. DeLange's office today, his post surgery checkup. I drove into town with him and dropped him off at  the doctor's and went to Walmart where I got birthday cards for Jared and Evan. I bought a few groceries and as I was waiting for James to call me to pick him up I got Jared's card ready to mail.

After picking up James we headed for the post office in Show Low to mail Jared's birthday card and the book that I sold, "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."

We dropped the pumpkin bread off at Tanna's on the way home. Someone came to the door, some guy, not Tanna, and James gave him the bread and the card. I want so much to get a truck and start hauling off garbage. There is two dumpsters full and garbage everywhere in the yard. I told James we should ask her if she needs help.

We stopped at the Vernon post office and I had five books that I had ordered to sell.

I read to James most of the time we were in the car and when we got home we finished the book, "Aunt Dimity's Christmas." I can see why it is my friend Karen's favorite.

James tried to work outside on the logs this afternoon but it was so cold and windy he came in a little early and built a fire. I was getting my shipment of books ready. I loaded it in the back of the car, all 34 lbs of it. It really bothers James that he can't lift things for me right now. The physician's assistant at Dr. DeLange's this morning told him if he wasn't careful about not lifting anything over 10 lbs and careful about what he ate, he may have to do the surgery over again. He doesn't want that so hopefully he will be good.

I bought a couple of books this evening. I am still six short of my weekly goal of 15. I worked on my blog and went to bed.

This week's elimination, Karamo and Jenna.
They look happy, don't they.
