While we are enjoying spring-like weather here in Chandler, this sister missionary from our ward, Sister Dahlia Dowdle is shoveling snow.  It seems that she has a good attitude about it though.  Sheis one of my heroes!

Today is president's day and there was no school.  I celebrated by going shopping.  I went to Sam's Club, Deseret Book, and Walmart.  When I returned James had bought me a Whataburger which was in the frig.  Stacy and Michael helped me unload my car.  We had a roomful of guests: Joe, Amanda, Connor, Alex, and Seth.

After putting away my groceries I updated both checkbooks and paid some bills.  James replaced a piece of baseboard in Joshua's room that had warped and textured the window sill.  I did some blue touchup paint and painted the inside door casing of the closet.

For FHE we did some studying from the JST of the New Testament.

This evening we read from our new book, "Trouble in Store."

James left around six this morning for the valley. Carmen, Dawn and I left after nine.  It took me longer to winterize than I thought it would and then we stopped in Show Low for gas and to wash my car. I am going to be too late to have lunch with Sheri. Also I forgot the Valentine treats I had for the grandkids.
We stopped in Payson and had lunch at Arby's.  Carmen is pretty amazing. She told about how her 35 year old washer broke down. The repairman wouldn't touch it so she and her husband Steve fixed it. Is there anything this woman can't do?
When we arrived in Chandler I said goodbye to Dawn and Carmen until to morrow evening when all the brothers and sisters in the area are invited to Lois's for an enchilada dinner.
I did some shopping at Sam's Club this afternoon. I bought some moving boxes, and for Valentines day I bought new sheets for James and I. I also got some strawberries and some dipping chocolate for later on this evening.
When James got off work we took our vehicles to Sears to be lubed and then walked over to the mall for dinner. I wanted to go to Kona Grill but it was too crowded so we went to BJ's instead.  I had the BBQ chicken salad.  It was delicious!
Came home and ate several chocolate covered strawberries that James made for me. Also, our new sheets are gloriously soft and silky. Christy is the brand name. It was a great way to end a good day!
In world news, a meteor fell from the sky and landed in a remote village in Russia doing lots of damage and injuring lots of people. Something like this doesn't happen very often.

Well I finished stripping the wallpaper in the living room all except for around Paul's desk.  I am waiting for him to move it.

Hurricane Sandy certainly wrecked havoc on the east coast.  There was a story about a pizza place owner who delivered over 1,000 pizzas to the hardest hit areas.  Many people are still without electricity and another storm is suppose to hit this weekend.  Glenn Beck said the following on his program today:  "Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and other leftists on TV mocked me for advocating emergency preparedness.  I wonder how they are feeling today as local New York reporters say people are literally dempster diving for food and supplies."

James and I had lunch at In n Out Burger.  I love their burgers and fries.  They are so fresh!

I went shopping today at Sam's Club and bought myself some boots and a purple furry jacket.  I can justify the boots because I will need them to wear to church when it snows but the jacket was a result of my weakness for the color purple.  I really didn't need a new jacket.

As I was unloading from my trip to Sam's Club my friend Judy Pargetter came by.  I spoke to her and Allen and Katelyn a few minutes from their car.  Katelyn was on her way to a piano lesson with Karen Schneider, and I was on my way to Chandler Eye to get my eyes dialated.  Sheri drove me home after my dialation.  It was really not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

This evening James and I had dinner at Outback.  We were going to Black Angus but at the last minute James changed his mind and decided he wanted the tilapia from Outback.  We sat outside on the patio because the weather was so nice.  Afterwards we went to the Chandler Mall to see Sheri while she was working at the Loft.  We went in to Barnes and Nobles and ran in to our friends Lance and Karen Schneider and we sat and talked with them for about an hour.  Karen told me to check at the mini ipads at the Apple Store.  The Apple Store is near where Sheri works.  Sheri was very happy to see us.

Joshua made this spider hat at school today and he modeled it for me.

I had to post all three pictures.  So cute.
