"Let us not defend ourselves from the good that God desires to bless us with. From the love and mercy that He desires us to feel. From the light and knowledge He desires to bestow upon us. From the healing that He knows we so readily need. From the deeper covenant relationship He intends for all His sons and daughters."

Snow on the ground and in the trees this morning, probably just a little under 2 inches. Tom wants to go out. I wonder why.

I am exhausted from yesterday. I rested most of the morning. We are supposed to feed the missionaries tonight. Now we have elders instead of sisters so I had James call. They said they would be here tonight at 6 pm if that was okay.

I manage to get myself into the kitchen around 1 o'clock this afternoon. James went in to town to pick up rice and beans from LaCasita. I am making Lois's traditional enchilada casserole with a few of my own adaptations. It took me all afternoon to get everything ready.

We had enchiladas, rice, beans, guacamole, chips and salsa, lettuce, and a strawberry poke cake for dessert. Elder Candari is from Oahu, Hawaii and Elder Flores who is originally from Honduras now lives in Provo, Utah.

I was a little disappointed that neither elder touched the rice or beans. What a bust. I thought for sure Elder Flores from Honduras would go for the beans. Go figure.

The elders are only teaching one person in our area and he is someone who lives at the Waypoint Addiction Recovery center. Elder Flores is very quiet, but we managed to get him to say a few things and we ended up having a nice visit. Elder Candari shared a scripture and Elder Flores said a prayer before they left.

Elder Candari and Elder Flores

James did the dishes and I put the food away. I then worked on my blog and played "Pinky" with Tom. My right arm is beginning to throb.

We got some disturbing news about John Wilhelm this evening. He didn't feel well so he went to the ER and was air-evacked to the a hospital somewhere in the valley. He had to have quadruple bypass surgery. John is probably in his early to mid 50's and has six kids who still lives at home. Four are adults and have moved out.
I love his wife Sandra. We are praying for them. Trenda is their oldest daughter.

Rosie Lauritzen left me a Valentine on the front porch and a couple of cookies. She is so thoughtful and sweet.

A lazy day for Tom
