Jesus Christ, Temptations of
Mosiah 15:5
And thus the flesh becoming subject to the Spirit, or the Son to the Father, being one God, suffereth temptation, but suffereth himself to be mocked, and scourged, and cast out, and disowned by his people.

Overcome The World And Find Rest
President Russell M. Nelson
President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
How, then, do we overcome the world? King Benjamin taught us how. He said that "the natural man is an enemy to God" and remains so forever "unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord." Each time you seek for and follow the promptings of the Spirit, each time you do anything good - things that "the natural man" would not do - you are overcoming the world.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I've decided that prayer comes first, even before family history because who know what the day is going to bring.

Today was a good day. While studying CFM with James we listened to a talk by David A. Bednar, "If Ye Had Known Me" under the section - I Come to Know Jesus Christ by Doing His Will. In this talk Elder Bednar quotes the Savior: "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up His cross, and follow me." (Matthew 16:24) He then says this: To take up one's cross is to deny oneself of all ungodliness and every worldly lust and to keep the commandments of the Lord. -JST Matthew 16:26 (in the Bible appendix). This answers a question regarding Elder Holland's talk which is part of the lesson I am giving on Sunday. I love how the gospel fits together so nicely. The course of the Lord is one eternal round.

I made cashew chicken today and served it over rice pilaf. We both really like it in spite of the fact that the cashews I bought were honey roasted.

On top of everything else James has to do to keep several jobs going, he is taking traffic school for a ticket he got in Mesa going 48 in a 35 zone. The speed limit just turned from 45 and he hadn't slowed down and the camera got him.

I got 17,500 steps on my own today and then James took my phone to list to our book, "The Shadow Falls" and I ended up with 19,624 steps. I told him it was wrong but he says he can hear the story better when he walks with my phone. I guess we need to get Alexa.

I almost joined Annie's cardmaking club today for 50% off for the first month.  It was all well and good until they tried to charge me $11.99 for shipping a packet of cards. Nope, not gonna do it, sorry.
