Just as Jesus knows each of us by name, one way we can come to better know Jesus is by learning His many names. Like the names of Israel and Peter, many of Jesus's names are titles that help us understand His mission, purpose, character, and attributes. As we come to know Jesus's many names, we will come to better understand His divine mission and His selfless character. Knowing His many names also inspires us to become more like Him - to develop Christlike attributes that bring joy and purpose to our lives.
All I can say is I was up before 7. Will I ever get back on track?
The weather was beautiful today with the high in the 50's. I finished my blog for December 16th and started December 17th. That's how far behind I am.
Stacy, Paul, and Joshua are coming today so I did a quick clean upstairs and downstairs. I took the quilt that Lois made me and put it on the bed in my office. It looks beautiful.
I did call Lois today and thank her for the quilt. I told her it was probably the nicest Christmas gift I had ever received because it was made by her.
For lunch I had some parmesan crusted chicken. James went over to Barbara's to check on the concrete and Barbara came out to visit him. She loved the comforter we gave her and she said it even fit on her bed. She really is a sweet lady.
This afternoon James wanted me to go to town with him. Since Stacy and Paul were coming, I declined because I wanted to be here when they arrived.
Stacy, Paul, Joshua, Shipley, Vader, and Sophie arrived somewhere between 2:00 and 2:30. As I was helping Stacy put things away in the kitchen she dropped and broke a big bottle of Prego. Not a good way to start out. Paul immediately set up his big computer screen on the high table near the entry and asked me for the password to the internet. He is supposed to have today off but his boss needed him to do something. I moved my nativity off the table and put it away downstairs so Stacy could do her puzzle on the other side of the table. Joshua and Stacy helped me carry the pieces downstairs. Stacy gets around pretty well with her boot but she didn't wear it much while she was here.
Erik and his family came up today in their camp trailer. Erik is hunting for anterless elk and brought all of his family with him. They came over to say hello and ended up staying to watch a movie. James fixed us some venison gravy and we invited them to eat with us but they said they had already eater. Amelia shared some licorice caramels and some fudge. Stacy and I loved the licorice and James loved the fudge. Stacy suggested we watch this new version of Pinocchio which ended up being more for teenagers than little kids. It was a little bizarre. Joshua did say he liked it. I wonder if Aurora who is 14, and Mabel who is 12 liked it. I don't think Tabitha who is 8 or Oliver who is 10 understood all of it. Honestly, I was glad when it was over and I really didn't like it very much.
Tabitha liked the dogs, especially Vader who is really the "safest" one. Shipley and Sophie are unpredictable. Honestly everytime I got close to Stacy or Sophie, Sophie would bark at me so loudly it would scare me away. Stacy says she does it because she is nervous and she can't hurt me because she doesn't have any teeth but there is something about a dog barking in your face that scares you away, at least for me. Whenever I sit down Shipley comes over to sit on my lap and that is fine. It is just when she gets right in my face and wants to lick it when I draw the line.
After saying goodnight James and I went in the bedroom and walked while listening to "The Undaunted."
