In our lives that are often filled with questions, worries, pressures, and opportunities, our Savior's love for us individually and as His covenant children and also His teachings and laws are available daily resources that we can depend on to be a "light which shineth, ...enlightening our eyes and quickening our understandings." As we seek for the blessings of the Spirit in our lives, we will be able to, as Jacob taught, see "things as they really are, and ... as they really will be."

Woke up at 3:28 and got up at 5:13. I guess I must have needed the extra sleep. After breakfast, scriptures and prayer, I took James to the Vernon park for a class on emergency radio communications taught by Cope Reynolds, a member of our ward. So many people in Vernon have these radios. If there is an emergency where your phone doesn't work, these radios are what everyone will use. You have to keep them in a Farraday box for safety reasons. Don't ask me what a Farraday box is. Look it up. Sorry to be so abrupt. It is a weird world we live in.

I worked on looking up scriptures this morning for my "Seeking Jesus" lecture. This one is about Jesus and the Law of Moses. I've been working on it for awhile but not consistently. There is a lot to these lectures by John Hilton III. So fun!

I also made some mashed potatoes this morning for the Guy Wilhelm memorial. I delivered them around 11:45 and then went on to town to pick up my prescriptions that I forgot yesterday. I also picked up three more blankets. It was raining like crazy in Show Low and my umbrella broke so I tossed it. Before I left Show Low James called to have me pick him up from his class at the park. He didn't take his truck because it is still connected to the trailer with the Cat on it from going out to Anthony's. He was going to go back out to Anthony's this afternoon but since it is raining he won't be going.

James called me and said he didn't want to just sit around and wait and since the rain had stopped he was going to start walking home. I told him to go ahead that I should be there in five minutes, which I was. He got as far as the road by the Vernon Elementary School.

We were both starving when we got home so we had some lunch and then it was rest time. I watched two Christmas movies today: "The 12 Days of Christmas Eve" and "Christmas Spark."

I never heard from the MacArthur's. Today is Scotlyn's fourth birthday and I sent a text this morning that I had a gift from her and would like to bring it over. I guess maybe it will have to wait until tomorrow.
