By: James E. Faust

Jesus Christ, Firstborn
DC 38:1
"Thus saith the Lord your God, even Jesus Christ, the Great I Am, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the same which looked upon the wide expanse of eternity, and all the seraphic hosts of heaven, before the world was made;

Alma 40:1-14
New Testament "The Lord Has Called Us for to Preach the Gospel"
Acts 20

General Conference
Exercising Our Spiritual Muscles
Elder Juan Pablo Villar
"Thanks to the Restoration of the gospel, we can come to understand how our Heavenly Father helps us develop spiritual gifts. It is more likely that He will give us opportunities to develop those gifts rather than just granting them to us without spiritual and physical effort If we are in tune with His Spirit, we will learn to identify those opportunities and then act upon them."

Jared got a new salary offer from his employer in Tyler that will cover his expenses, so they won't be moving any time soon. We feel like our prayers were answered.

James went to town this morning and took my book shipment to mail. He got oil for the Razr. Now the hard part begins, finding where to put the oil. Everything is under something else and nothing is labeled. He has the manual but the photos are not very clear.  He brought me an ice cream from McDonald's back with him.

I made rolls for the temple tomorrow and pot pies (Marie Callendar's) for dinner this afternoon. James is supposed to quit eating 5 hours before he goes to bed so we now eat around 5 p.m.

James put new light bulbs in while I worked on repricing books this afternoon.

I trimmed James's hair and ironed his shirt for tomorrow.

 Molly feeding Charlie
Anna drove her car over 5 1/2 hours with
Molly and Emmy to visit Jared.

Today's Christmas movies:

 So tired

I ordered the DVD for Addy and I to watch.
It's not a Hallmark movie.
We've both seen it and we like it.

So tired...

General Conference
Cleansed by Repentance
President Dallin H. Oaks
"As another part of God's 'plan of restoration', the Resurrection will restore 'all things .. to their proper and perfect frame'. This includes the perfection of all of our physical deficiencies and deformities acquired in mortality, including at birth or by trauma or disease.
Does this restoration perfect us of all our unholy or unconquered desires or addictions? That cannot be. We know from modern revelation that we will be judged for our desires as well as our actions and that even our thoughts will condemn us. We must not 'procrastinate the day of our repentance' until death, Amulek taught, because the same spirit that has possessed our body in this life - whether the Lord's or the devil's - 'will have power to possess our body in that eternal world'. Our Savior has the power and stands ready to cleanse us from evil. Now is the time to seek His help to repent of our wicked or unseemly desires and thoughts to be clean and prepared to stand before God at the Final Judgment."

Sold a book this morning. I was an older listing and we didn't make any money.

James left for the valley at 5:30 a.m. He is going down to install a door for Stacy, meet with the owner of the Montessori school where Dawn works, and to do some touch up at Hatch Dental.

Alex went with James to Stacy's and they had a nice visit. Alex wants to come up and go fishing on the Black River. The only problem is James's truck doesn't work and neither does the Razr so we need to get one of them fixed. Today James took Lexy to the valley. When he returned he said he must have hit a rock because one of the tires has a problem. I reminded him that he went over the Green's Peak road last Saturday and could have done something to the tire then. No more taking my car over that road!

I watched the book webinar this morning and got my books ready to ship. I also walked, blogged, and watched Christmas movies. My life is pretty much a do over every day.

Today's Christmas movies:
"Switched for Christmas"
"Christmas Cure"
Christmas Under Wraps:

James was home by 9:30 this evening.

 That's one way

 What is this?

This grass feels weird and sticks to my hands.

General Conference
"Come Follow Me"
President Russell M. Nelson
"In truth, the Savior Himself has made it abundantly clear that while His Resurrection assures that every person who ever lived will indeed be resurrected and live forever, much more is required if we want to have the high privilege of exaltation. Salvation is an individual matter, but exaltation is a family matter."

Tamara, our Relief Society president, sent out a text this morning to all of the presidency regarding some sisters in our ward. One sister has a husband in prison. She has two young boys. She thought he would be getting out of prison after six months but now she finds out he will be in 3 years. She is struggling and now this.

Another sister is having a double masectomy next Monday.

The last sister has cancer and just found out her young daughters, 4 and 2, both have a rare disease affecting their hearing and eyesight.

Whenever I feel sorry for myself and my problems, all I have to do is look around and find someone else who has it much worse.
Faith and prayers and loving service are all I have to offer.

I made cookies this morning with three kinds of chocolate chips, walnuts and oatmeal. They were delicious!

James and I took a trip to town today. We went around lunch time and stopped at one of our favorite places to eat, LaCasita. We both ordered our usual, a chicken enchilada with red sauce for me and rice and beans, a chicken enchilada with green sauce and a side of beans for James. We had a new waitress and she got James's order wrong. His enchilada was a cheese instead of a chicken. Next she gave us the wrong bill, and then she added up our bill wrong. Wow! She really is new. James was very nice about it and did not complain when the owner asked him how his meal was.

I bought groceries at Walmart and James went to Home Depot for lightbulbs.

Scattered showers in the area but it only rained at our place for a few minutes. The monsoons are holding back this year.

Christmas movies and walking this evening.

 Love the tippy toes

 Love that face!

Jesus Christ, Firstborn
Revelations 1:11
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
Book of Mormon
Alma 37:26-47
New Testament"The Lord Had Called Us For to Preach the Gospel"
Acts 17

General Conference
The Atonement of Jesus Christ
Tad R. Callister
"Truman G. Madsen made this comforting observation:
'If there are some of you who have been tricked into the conviction that you have gone too far, ... that you have had the poison of sin which makes it impossible ever again to be what you could have been - then hear me.
'I bear testimony that you cannot sink farther than the light and sweeping intelligence of Jesus Christ can reach. I bear testimony that as long as there is one spark of the will to repent and to reach, he is there He did not just descend to your condition; he descended below it that he might be in all and through all things the light of truth.'" (DC 88:6)

James's truck has got major electrical problems. He turned off the windshield wipers, came in the house and looked out the window and they were on. Erik told him he needed to get a new truck. This is true, but it just isn't in the cards right now.

We have so many things that need to be fixed right now, it's hard to know where to start. Where the water downstairs is coming from continues to be a mystery as the valve that was leaking last time is as dry as a bone.

Changing the fluids in the Razr is a nightmare. I believe they make it difficult so people will bring their machines in instead of trying to do it themselves. They don't know James. He is the king of "I can do it myself."

I listened to the book webinar training this morning by Kathy and Kris and then worked on books most of the day.

It rained hard here for about two minutes today. What's that about?

School started in the valley for Max, Evan, Joshua, Lola, and Ruby, and I think Rowan. I didn't see a post for Rowan as I did for Lola and Ruby so maybe not. Trina will have all four of her kids going to different schools this year. At least they are all close by.

James walked around the property this evening as I continue to circle the entry table. We had burgers and broccoli for dinner.

Watching Christmas movies is becoming quite a habit over here. I like them because they always have an uplifting message and a good ending. I can't stand sad or depressing endings.

Happy 18th Birthday to Summer!
We love you!

This is how I remember the Andersen family

One of my all-time favorite Christmas movies
and the "Fonz" is in it.

Talk about flexible!

 Lightning at sunset!

 A good one

I wonder how many books you have to have in
your inventory to sell this many books in a month.
