Happy Birthday to my favorite 15 year old! Ruby is the sweetest 15 year old that I know!

Birthday Party at our time share.
We did this several years in a row for
Ruby's birthday.

I started listening to "Unshaken Saints" as part of my study of the Book of Mormon this week. Brother Halverson is so knowledgeable!

James worked at the Hipps's all morning with Greg Anderson. When he returned home he needed the mouse to use his computer. My mouse died so I had been using his. I can function without a mouse, but it isn't easy.

I spent an hour on my Relief Society lesson today. Elder Renlund quotes from five of President Nelson's talks!

My right arm is still hurting so I work slow and steady being careful not to overdue.

Tom slept in his/James's office chair today. When he woke up I fed him and then opened the door to see if he would go outside. Nope. He refused to go outside until about 9 p.m.

James and I made a trip to town this afternoon/evening. James needed to pick something up at Harbor Freight. I went with him. We dropped some things off at Goodwill and then went over to Taco Bell for dinner.

James has committed to me that he will haul off  'junk' at least once a month. He has vetoed getting a trash container. I talked to our friend Kerri Halcomb and she says hers costs $90 a month. James thinks that is way too much.

Finished the book, "A Provincial Peer". Now I need to read it with James when he finishes "Flat Deception."

James did a remodel of Tempe Camera, worked for Joe, and received an award from the city of Tempe.

We had family prayer at 4:32 a.m. Afterwards James left for the valley. He is going to help Armando on the Bama Barbershop job on Ray and Alma School in Chandler.

They are missing hair traps on the 16 sinks they ordered for the barbershop/barber school. This is going to hold the job up longer and Daryl Johnson is not going to be happy.

We still have a final payment coming on this job and $30,000 from the Chacon job. James is working with the insurance company on the Chacon job.

Tom and I are home alone. He comes in the house, gets something to eat, and then disappears. He probably went upstairs into James office. He likes to sleep in his chair. I like it when he sleeps down here in our bedroom or in the family room on the "high" chairs. I love to look at him when he's asleep.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but I'm going to say it again if I did. Colby Maxwell is James's salesman at the lumber store where he is buying the lumber for the Hipps's job. Colby gave him a really good price on the lumber he bought.

Today was slow but steady. My arm is still hurting. I took "cat" naps throughout the day. I worked on my closet and cleaned out the refrigerator. I did two blog posts, walked 12,000 miles and listened to Elaine and Barbara on "Walk with Him" discuss Elder Andersen's conference talk about temples.

I went out to feed the horses this evening but I couldn't get the gate open where James is keeping the feed. James got home after 9 and he went out and fed them.

I'm discouraged about all of the "junk" lying around our place. I told James about it and he promised me he would do something about it. I hope so.

Reading the book, "A Provincial Peer."
James stepped on Tom's tail and now Tom is afraid of him.

34 O Jehovah, have mercy upon this people, and as all man sin, forgive the transgressions of thy people, and let them be blotted out forever.
35 Let the anointing of thy ministers be sealed upon them with power from on high.
36 Let it be fulfilled upon them, as upon those on the day of Pentecost; let the gift of tongues be poured out upon thy people, even cloven tongues as of fire, and the interpretation thereof.

Happy Father's Day! I was no prepared because I honestly thought it was next week.

Preston Flake from our ward and Dennis Newmeyer from the stake high council were the speakers in our sacrament meeting today.

Brother Flake - Would this be an appropriate time to fake a heart attack? David A. Bednar, "Heed Them Not". We will heed not what the wicked will say, but the Lord alone we will obey. Childrens' storybook, "You Are Special." The world distracts and pits people against each other. Eliminate negativity. Heed not. Sources of negativity: Satan, others, self. Brother Flake deals with depression which involves his inner dialogue. Be mindful of our thoughts. Prayer and scripture study are very important. Heavenly Father loves you. His love transcends our imperfections. Heed not . . . negative influences. I have a testimony . . .

Brother Newmeyer - Moved to Lakeside two years ago. We knew him in Chandler. He was a member of our stake. He works from home for Intel. Listen to the Spirit. Blessed to have a Heavenly Father. President Beeler's letter - sacred times and holy places. Connect and serve the one - President Nelson. Any two people can do anything as long as one of them is the Lord. Who am I? Who can I become? Because of Christ we know who we are. I am a child of God. Our true identity. We are children of a Heavenly Father who loves us.

Jimmy Applegate's lesson was really good today. We discussed the questions in Alma 5. One of the best parts of the lesson was Jimmy's testimony at the end.

Yesterday I made whole wheat pancakes for James but I forgot to put the walnuts and pecans in. I had some batter left, chopped up some nuts and made some pancakes for our lunch. I also cut up some fresh strawberries. The nuts made all of the difference in the pancakes. James said I couldn't have fixed anything he would have liked better. After lunch, we took naps.

This afternoon after our naps we went for a drive. I wanted to go to Big Lake but James said it was too far.  Jared wants to FaceTime around 6 p.m. our time and it was already 4 o'clock. We drove from Vernon to McNary on the Vernon-McNary road through the pines. It was a nice drive although it was a dirt road. When we got to McNary we turned and went through Pinetop and Lakeside, turning on Penrod Rd. to go back to Vernon.

We had a nice visit with Jared, Kacey, and Charlie. The excitement at their house is Tanner's baby Mason. Tanner is doing well. Charlie has been sick today and wasn't able to go to church. She had a stomach bug just like grandpa did earlier in the week.

Two temples were dedicated today. The Salta, Argentina was dedicated by Elder D. Todd Christofferson and the Layton, Utah was dedicated by Elder David A. Bednar.

Saturday, June 15, 2024: A wonderful day with James, He worked at Hipps's, took me to town, and watched a movie with me, talked to Collin about his fall, Dead coyote under my tree

D&C 109:32
Therefore we plead before thee for a full and complete deliverance from under the yoke;

Today I really enjoyed my time with James. He came and put his head on my lap when I was sitting down in the family room, more than once. He said he wanted to spend his time with me, although he had work to do. He worked at the Hipps's and took our garbage and the Crane's to the dump. Chuck is laid up with his back and Kathy is not feeling well.

James also talked to Collin about his fall. He is waiting for the swelling in his ankle to go down so he can have surgery to repair it.

James took me to town. He got me an Arizona burrito at Aliberto's. I vowed it would be my last one because, although it is delicious, it is quite greasy. I ate about half of it. We also stopped at Walmart for some catfood, milk, and a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper Zero. Before we left for town I fixed us some lunch. We have two containers of cabbage soup in the refrigerator but since he got sick after eating it the other day, he doesn't want it anymore. Before leaving town we stopped at Panda and I got a bowl of orange chicken with chow mein. James got some kind of chicken with fried rice. Neither of us ate it all so we will be able to have some tomorrow.

I had totally forgotten it was Father's day tomorrow. For some reason I thought it was next week. I am ill prepared and I must say that I am ashamed of myself.

This evening James and I watched an older Hallmark movie starring JoAnna Garcia Swisher who was Reba's oldest daughter on the Reba show. She works for a large hotel chain and they want to see about buying property in Kilabbey, Ireland on the plot of land where an ancient castle stands. JoAnna's character is to go to Kilabbey and convince the town council to sell the land to the hotel chain. Of course, this is easier said than done and she ends up siding with the town and falling in love with a local. It was a cute movie and I am grateful to James for watching it with me.

Something I forgot to mention. James and I have been smelling something dead while outside on the deck. James thought it might be under the house so he crawled under but could find nothing.
He came in the other day and said he had found out what the dead smell was. He said there was a dead coyote under my "Christmas" tree. Gross! Right here in our yard. I wonder how he died.
