Jesus Christ, Prophecies about
Daniel 9:24
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Book of Mormon
Alma 24:7-18 What am I willing to bury? I will bury my pride. I will bury my desire for impulsive eating and spending. I will ask for and recognize the hand of the Lord in every detail of my life. I will become a more disciplined disciple.

As I've reflected upon these very sacred moments of my life, I have been overwhelmed with profound, enduring joy. I have felt and continue to feel the love of a compassionate Father in Heaven, who knows our individual needs and our heartfelt desires.

Learning
No matter how old we become, we can acquire knowledge and use it. We can gather wisdom and profit from it. We can grow and progress and improve, and, in the process, strengthen the lives of those within our circle of influence.

Inklings
"We are all infants compared to the beings of glory and grandeur we are designed to become. No mortal being advances from crawling to walking to running without frequent stumbles, bumps, and bruises. That is how we learn."

We left at 6:45 this morning for the valley. We had our scriptures and "Come Follow Me" in the car. We listened to "Talking Scripture" and then I read to James from our book, "Love on Pointe."

James dropped me off for my infusion at 10:00. James left the AARA and went straight down to Chandler Auto Body to pick up his truck. Afterwards he went over to Lake Park Village. He came back and picked me up around 11:30. We drove to Chandler Eyecare to see Sheri. She is taking us to lunch. We finally decided on Olive Garden, a place we all like and continue to come back to. Sheri and I had soup, salad and breadsticks and James had chicken marsala.

James drove me out to Darrel's. Darrel said his kids are ready to go and are pretty excited. I waited with the kids for James while he went out to a meeting about doing a patio cover for someone in Sun Lakes West.

I show Ruby and Lola videos of Tin Barn Farm where the Wilhelm boys are working with horses. Ruby tells me she wishes she could live in Vernon. We finally watch a movie on TV, "Yours, Mine, and Ours" starring Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo. It was a bit overboard but the kids liked it.

James didn't get back until 6 p.m. The first thing we did after saying goodbye to Darrel and leaving the house, is drive to Taco Bell for dinner. That was the kids' choice. We have Rowan, Ruby, and Lola. Addy is staying at home because of her job. We got home to Vernon around 9:30. It was so nice and cool and smelled like rain. Ruby and I both loved it. Rowan forgot his contacts, solution, toothbrush and toothpaste. We found some solution and I found some small containers to put his contacts in. I also gave him a new toothbrush and toothpaste. We have family prayer and go to bed because it is late.

"Why the Covenant Path"
Elder D. Todd Christofferson
Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
The nature of our obedience to God. More than simply having good intentions, we solemnly commit to live by every word that proceeds forth from the mouth of God. In this, we follow the example of Jesus Christ, who, be being baptized, "showeth unto the children of men that, according to the flesh he humbleth himself before the Father, and witnesseth unto the Father that he would be obedient unto him in keeping His commandments.

Civility
Civility carries with it the essence of courtesy, politeness, and consideration of others. All of the education and accomplishments in the world will not count for much unless they are accompanied by marks of gentility, of respect for others, of going the extra mile.

"God Among Us"
I Believe God is among us. I offer myself patience as I allow my failures to Refine Me. I am gathering light into my souls as I Repent and Return Again and Again to Him.

Listened to "Act in Doctrine" and "Follow Him" as part of my "Come Follow Me" study.

When James fed Luna this morning he closed the gate to her corral but he didn't lock it. The reason he did this was because he knew that Aaron's kids wanted to ride her and this would save him from having to catch her in the field. When she saw the gate was closed Luna would over and pushed it open with her nose. She walked out and then walked back in, and then walked out, and back in to finish her breakfast.

James invited Aaron and the kids in at my request. They came in and used the bathroom and then James offered them cake and cookies. They loved both. They also rode Luna.

Aaron and his kids left today saying they were going to go check our Fool's Hollow Lake. We didn't see them again but we think they may have stayed one more night.

James and I made a trip to town this afternoon. We stopped at the Vernon post office where we had lots of packages waiting for us. A pair of Levi's for James, the book I ordered a couple of months ago that was on backorder, "Let God Prevail." A new Celestial journal for my Sunday meetings, two 5x7 spiral notebooks. I fill one of these up every month with notes for my blog, etc. A mattress topper for our bed, two screen protector's for our phones, and two DoodleDazzle markers sets, one for Lola and one for Ruby. Whew! Glad we stopped.

I specifically went into town to get cushions for our outside furniture because the rats have torn ours up making nests. Walmart didn't have any and I decided to measure the ones we have and order them online.

I have been craving another bean burro from Aliberto's so we stopped there on the way out of town. James ordered a fish taco and then he ordered two bean burros, one for me and one for him.

This evening while walking I watched the Suns game. The Suns got beat 116-102. The Clippers knew it was do or die. The series is now 3-2 Suns. The next game is on Wednesday.

My indexing total for the month is now 5,668. Here are some of my notes on names indexed: Isaac Newton, Vincent Grief, Coonrad Swinder. The city was Cleveland, Ohio.

Of the Seventy
As we intensify our faith in Christ, we receive light in intensifying measure until it dispels all darkness that might gather around us. "That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.

"God Among Us"
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
John 6:28-71
D&C 104:15-18

I got up early so I could study Elder Uchtdorf's conference talk before church as that is what is being taught in Elder's Quorum/Relief Society. I also sent out a text and ask the rest of the presidency to read Elder Renlund's talk and President Nelson's and decide which one we should give on July 25th. We are scheduled for Elder Renlund's but since President Nelson is the Prophet and he issued a challenge to everyone in his talk, I had felt like maybe that's the talk we should focus on. I am waiting for Tamara's and Kerri's feedback. Tamara agrees with me so I am going to change from Elder Renlund's talk to President Nelson's and notify the Elder's Quorum.

The Skousen's were the speakers in sacrament meeting today. Pierce was the only member of the bishopric here today. Brother Thompson sat with him on the stand and Brother Wright was also on the stand.
Sister Skousen spoke on Elder Cook's talk in the October 2018 general conference, "deep and Lasting Conversion to the Lord Jesus Christ." The new two hour meeting block was being introduced and was to start in January 2019. The term home centered and Church supported gospel curriculum was also introduced. Elder Cook said the Sabbath will be a delight. The aim of all gospel learning is to deepen our conversion to Jesus Christ and to emulate Him. Valiant youth taught in the home. Sister Skousen shared some personal stories to illustrate this point.

Brother Skousen spoke on a talk from the October 2018 conference, "Gather Together in One All Things in Christ" by Elder David A. Bednar. Here are some notes I took: We live in a revelatory time. Strengthen faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement. Ministering in a higher and holier way. The gospel is a tapestry of truth, linked and woven together. Each of us must rely on the merits and grace of the Holy Messiah.

During the second hour Brother Patrick lead a discussion based on Elder Uchtdorf's talk, "God Among Us." Here is a brief outline of the talk: Is there any hope left in the world? When have times of bleakness left a mark on me? There are angels among us. Elder Uchtdorf thought the American missionaries who visited his country after the war were angels of light, glory, compassion, goodness and truth. What is my testimony of Jesus regarding salvation? What would Jesus do and teach if He was among us today? What did he teach in the Holy Land, the Book of Mormon, and during the Restoration? He taught timeless truths of hope and belonging. He would teach us to open our hearts to God and reach out to others. He would recognize and honor honesty, humility, integrity, faithfulness, compassion, and charity. One look into HIs eyes and we would never be the same. We would be forever changed.  Keep searching with faith and patience. Ask, trust, knock, seek to follow Jesus Christ.

Pam brought us cookies again today. She delivered them after we got home from church and said she rang the doorbell but I never heard it so I missed seeing her. These were oatmeal with pecans. She also had some with dried apples and some with raisins. They were all delicious. I made another strawberry cream poke cake and James cut up a watermelon. We will serve cookies, cake and watermelon at our "Come Follow Me" get together this evening.

Aaron and his kids came by this afternoon. They came up to camp and didn't know all of the forests were closed. He asked if they could camp at our place. James said yes. They camped down on the other end of our property and at one point James said all three of the kids were up in the tree where Ian built the bench.

I spent some time indexing this afternoon. My goal was to reach 6,000 by the end of the month. I still have 578 more names to go. Mary Shannahan's residence is at "The Little Sisters of the Poor."

Sister Goodman asked if Sister Bartell could join us tonight. I said she could. There were seven of us because the Crane's are in the valley. We had the "Come Follow Me" lesson on D&C 67-70 and then we served refreshments on my new china. I was sad to find out that three of the smaller plates are cracked.

Paul posted on our family group that Fossil Creek is closed indefinitely because of fire damage.
