"In Partnership with the Lord"
Elder Ulisses Soares
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
The restored gospel of Jesus Christ proclaims the principle of full partnership between woman and man, both in mortal life and in the eternities. Although each possesses specific attributes and divinely appointed responsibilities, woman and man fill equally relevant and essential roles in God's plan of happiness for HIs children. This was evident from the very beginning when the Lord declared "that it was not good that the man should be alone; wherefore He would make an help meet for him."
Up at 4:12. Prayer journal and gospel study and then scriptures and prayer with James.
Now they are saying the election results for Arizona may take up to 12 days. Brian says Arizona is an embarrassment!
James needed to scan some documents this morning. He forgot how to do it so I helped him figure it out. It took almost 30 minutes, but I did it. James was impressed and he says he doesn't have the patience to do this kind of stuff. I guess that's why I am here. Glad I can sometimes be useful.
We went to town, leaving around 10:30. We stopped at the post office but it was closed because of the holiday. I never received my Debbie Macomber book although Amazon says it was delivered. James was going to talk to John, our postmaster about it. I guess we will have to wait until Monday.
We picked up our Sonic Slingers and drinks and then James had to get something at Home Depot. Afterwards we went across the street to Circle K to fill my car with gas. James went inside and bought each of us an Almond Joy. I shouldn't have, but I did.
It was rest time when we returned home. I sat down in the family room to watch "The Great British Bake Off." James sat by me but kept going into the kitchen for snacks. He watched the entire show with me. It was patisserre week. Syabira should have gotten star baker but she has had it three times. Abdul was good too and he has never been star baker so they gave it to him. Syabira's showstopper was a replica of a DNA strand setting on chromosomes. It was awesome. Abdul's was all about outer space. Janusz went home which means, Sybira, Abdul, and Sandro will be in the finale next week.
James went into the bedroom to take a nap and then he met Greg at the Bartels to work on the Cat. They finally got it running. In the meantime I made some apple bread with walnuts. I also texted Kathy Crane's who has not been feeling well and volunteered to take them dinner tomorrow. I am going to make chicken tacos, a salad, and apple bread. Kathy has stomach issues and asked that I not put onions or green chilies in the tacos. When I told James he said, "maybe you could put them in a few for Chuck and I."
I had over 12,000 steps by 6:15 this evening. This is going to be my goal every night!
James and I started a new book today. It is called, "The Call of the Sea" by Sian Ann Bessey. Someone has already been killed so I don't know how well I am going to like it.
I finally caught up on my blog! I was listening to the Come Follow Me Hosea, Joel episode of "Teaching with Power" this evening when James came in and asked if we could read a couple of chapters from the book so he could walk. I played the chapters and he walked. I already had all of my steps.
I finished "Original Grace" and began listening to "Believing Christ" by Stephen E. Robinson. I forgot how much I liked "Believing Christ."
I also listened to Inklings today. They discussed Sister Browning's talk, "Seeing More of Jesus Christ in Our Lives." One of my favorite conference talks. "The Savior invites us to see our lives through Him in order to see more of Him in our lives."
