"Preparing For The Second Coming Of Christ"
Elder Christoffel Golden
Of the Seventy
As recorded in the Book of Mormon, six years before the birth of Jesus Christ, Samuel, a righteous Lamanite, prophesied to a Nephite people, who by then had become mostly apostate, of the signs that would accompany our Savior's birth. Tragically, most Nephites rejected those signs because it was "not reasonable that such a being as a Christ should come."
The Family Proclamation
#1
We, The First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children.
Inklings
"After 10 years of increased temple attendance and constant prayer, I am sorry to say that my children's choices have not changed. But I have. I am a different woman... I have given up my time limits and am able to wait on the Lord... my expectations have changed. Instead of expecting my children to change, I expect these tender mercies and am full of gratitude for them... the Lord works in marvelous ways, and I truly am filled with the peace that passers all understanding."

("Prayer: A Small and Simple Thing", At The Pulpit)
Up at 3:47. The first think I had to eat or drink was a cup of hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows.
James left for his appointment around 7 at which time I decided to take a nap. James calls me and says he can't find his wallet. I look around here at home but it is not here. When James got home I looked in the car and even looked under it where he had fixed my tire. As I was doing this, I realized something and went inside the house to tell James. I reminded him that we took the truck yesterday, not the car. I asked him if he looked in the truck and he said "no, but I'm going to now."
James came back from the truck we a smile on his face and I knew he had found the wallet. He said it was right where he left it, in the side pocket. Crisis averted. Too bad we are so forgetful it took us so long to figure out the answer to the missing wallet.
James called Pierce today to borrow his trailer to get some sand and found out that both Pierce and Barbara have pneumonia. They got it just as they were getting over Covid. James could barely hear Pierce. It's so sad because Pierce had said a couple of days ago that they were fine. We are worried about Barbara especially because she has asthma.
I made a big pot of Wendy's copycat chili this afternoon in anticipation of the chili cookoff tonight, then James told me he didn't feel like going. I texted Tamara and told her we wouldn't be there and she was fine with that. We get the chili all to ourselves. I also made a batch of cornbread to go with it. The combination was delicious!
After dinner we watched a Christmas movie, "Open By Christmas".
Alison Sweeney and Brennan Elliott play the main characters and although James isn't really fond of Alison as an actress we really liked this movie!
"When Nicky finds an unopened Christmas card from an old secret admirer, she and her best friend embark on a quest to find the anonymous author.
