This Day
Elder Ronald A. Rasband
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
My dear friends, as an Apostle of the Lord, I invite you to follow our beloved prophet, President Nelson, in flooding the earth with the Book of Mormon. The need is so great; we need to act now. I promise that you will be participating in "the greatest work on earth," the gathering of Israel, as you are inspired to reach out to those who have been "kept from the truth because they know not where to find it." They need your testimony and witness of how this book has changed your life and drawn you closer to God, His peace, and HIs tidings of great joy."

We left at six o'clock this morning for the valley. We went the Payson way because after listening to scriptures and a conference talk we listened to our book and it works just about the entire way when we go through Payson. The other way it only works part of the time.

We arrived at AARA for my infusion and doctor's appointment at 9:30. My first appointment is at 9:45. Frances called me right back for my infusion and then about 30 minutes later the assistant took me to a room for my appointment for Dr. Kumar. Dr. Kumar said my liver numbers were a little elevated. 34 is the high number and mine was 35 so she had the infusion center take some blood to check my numbers again. My blood pressure was good, 118/72.

James was over at Winco across the street walking. He can't eat anything because of his procedure this afternoon and is drinking lots of water so he needed to be near a restroom. He came over and picked me up. I felt a little light headed and had some nausea. I got a steakburger at Freddy's and ate it while James went outside to walk.

When I was finished I felt a little better and we went over to Costco to spend my $25 rewards check. I got a set of Snapware and that was all I bought. The first time I've been under my budget when going to Costco.

When we were finished at Costco it was time for us to head to St. Joseph's hospital in Phoenix where James is having his procedure done. Kim and Brian met us at the hospital. Kim stayed with me and Brian went to his woodworking class and then came back. I interviewed Dr. Reddimasu before James surgery to make sure he wouldn't be using a bag afterwards. He said no, he doesn't even do that kind of surgery which really helped me to feel better.

I was still feeling a little dizzy and when Brian came back from his class he brought me some Dramamine. He is so thoughtful!

Kim and I went down to the cafeteria to get a snack while James's procedure was going on.

When they called me back to recovery Kim came back and then she and Brian waited until James was released. Brian went and got the car for me. I told Kim we were staying at Darrel & Trina's. She said they would wait until we got settled and then would come over to return my cake materials and bring me a piece of cake.

James and I went to Fry's to get some food because James was very hungry. They gave him a shot of Fentanyl before he left the hospital so he was feeling pretty good. Darrel said they had some soup and I thought we would fix that for James for dinner. We just got some snacks at Fry's. When we got to Darrel's the soup was chicken tortilla and James was afraid it would be too spicy. About that time Kim and Brian showed up. Brian took James to Panera to get some soup and a sandwich and Brian paid for it. They brought me back some broccoli cheese soup. I had soup and some of Kim's delicious cake. It was amazing!

I played a game of Mancala with Ruby. Lola was a big help, she should have been my partner the entire game. After the game and visiting with Trina a little after she got home from work, I excused myself and went up to bed. James was feeling fine and he stayed down a little longer to visit. I didn't get all of my steps but I didn't even care.

Let Doing Good Be Our Normal
Elder Rafael E. Pino
Of the Seventy
I pray that our normality may allow us to experience that state of "never-ending happiness" (Mosiah 2:41) that is promised to those who keep the commandments of God and that, while doing so, we may be able to say, "And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness" (2 Nephi 5:27).

The Eternal Principle Of Love
Elder Hugo Montoya
Of the Seventy
I believe that the supreme demonstration of God's love for us happened in Gethsemane, where the Son of the living God prayed, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."
I have noticed that the small portion that I can understand of the Atonement of Jesus Christ increases my love for the father and His Son, decreases my desire to sin and to be disobedient, and increases my willingness to be better and do better.

100 Favorite Verses - "A Light Unto My Path"
Psalms 119:105 - Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

John 8:12 - Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Happy Sabbath! James had to be at the church by 8:30 we we left at 20 after 8. I went in the nearly empty chapel and sat in the second row, left side of the podium. James insists that if I let him sit on the aisle seat he will be able to hear. My friend Sue Hubble came and sat by me. Brother Bach, our High councilman came and introduced himself to us. He is from the Wagon Wheel ward.

Sue and I decided we are going to go with the Relief Society sisters on March 15th to the temple. Sue was finally able to get her recommend signed by the stake. Here are the testimonies that were born today:
Bishop Hunsaker - Grateful for the temple and the things that are taught there.
Chimi Tesarek - Jesus died for our sins
The Beals' children
Christy Bowen
Greg Anderson - When the Spirit directs you, act on it. I didn't and a 24 year old died of a Fentanyl overdose I may have been able to prevent.
Charlotte South - The Lord can help you to reach out to others. Little things make a difference. I've had both successes and failures bringing others to the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Mel Wilhelm - We have a great bishop. He really cares for our ward. To me, the celestial kingdom is being with family. The Lord has sent soo many good people to Vernon.
James Lambson - I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. James talked about Joe Vaal who is here today. A wonderful testimony!
Becky Skousen (YW President) - We have such strong young women in our ward and they help to strengthen my testimony of Jesus Christ. I love my husband Chris, he treats me like a queen.
Lindsey Shaw - I have a testimony . . .
Paula Johnson - I am thankful for . . . There are a lot of people searching for the peace of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We need to be more friendly, outgoing, and inviting.
Tamara Applegate - It's hard to get up when you are already crying. I have a testimony of the power of prayer. Shut the world out when you pray to your Heavenly Father.

Right after sacrament meeting was over I said goodbye to Sue who attends the new members Sunday School class that Tamara teaches, and James took me back to meet Joe Vaal. He is being baptized into our ward but will attend the ward in Snowflake with his granddaughter and her husband. They were here with him and I met his granddaughter Rikki. Joe is a nice looking older man that wore a big brown wooden cross around his neck. I am fine with people wearing crosses because I am assuming they do it to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that was made for them.

I sat by Barbara Bartels during Sunday School and Barbara Sayer sat on the other side of her. After class was over Barbara Sayer had some questions about where and what hell was. I tried to help her but I'm not sure I did any good.

Collin wasn't at church today but Wendy was. James asked her to have Collin call him when he gets home from the valley, which Collin did. James wanted him to come over and give him another blessing but Collin is sick with a sore throat. He gave himself a Covid test and it came back negative. Collin called Owen Peeler and asked him if he could get someone and go over and give James a blessing, which he did.

Pierce came with Owen and anointed James while Owen was voice for the blessing. It was a simple but powerful blessing basically telling James he would be healed of the cancer. Pierce was talking to James as they were leaving and Owen came over to me and handed me two $100 bills. He said it was for some work James had done at the house in Globe.

Barbara Bartels dropped by today to give James a thank you note. When he opened it there was a check for $100 inside. When he told her she didn't owe him any money she said, I like to give bonuses to people who do a good job for me, take it while I still have it. This has been a blessed Sabbath Day!

Chuck Crane left after sacrament meeting today with a sore throat. He did a Covid test and it came back positive.

I did some indexing this evening and watched part of "Don't Miss This" for next week. James packed his suitcase for our trip to the valley tomorrow. I will pack in the morning.

A Framework For Personal Revelation
Elder Dale G. Renlund
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
The Holy Ghost can and will reveal everything we need to soar onto and maintain momentum on the covenant path. Thus we can be blessed by the power of Jesus Christ to become what Heavenly Father wants us to be. I invite you to have the confidence to claim personal revelation for yourself, understanding what God has revealed, consistent with the scriptures and the commandments He has given through His appointed prophets and within your own purview and agency. I know that the Holy Ghost can and will show you all things that you should do.

100 Favorite Verses - Clothed in Robes of Righteousness
D&C 109:76 - That our garments may be pure, that we may be clothed upon with robes of righteousness, with palms in our hands, and crowns of glory upon our heads, and reap eternal joy for all our sufferings.
"All righteousness is inextricably linked to the Savior's great
atoning sacrifice; it is through His merits that our robes of righteousness are purchased. As we repent and come unto Him, the Savior graciously presents us with out "cap & gowns" of eternal life."
Up at 5:30 for prayers, Book of Mormon and Come Follow Me personal study. 7:00 is breakfast time and study with James.

We were going to have the MacArthur's over for dinner, but they had to reschedule because Peyton has a basketball game at six. They are coming over on Thursday instead.

I forgot to mention what happened last Thursday after we got home from town. James met the missionaries at Joe Vaal's. They went over the baptismal questions with Joe. James said his answers were quite amusing. The first question was, "Do you believe in God?" Joe's answer, "Do I really have to answer that, you know that I do." He also said he couldn't understand why he had to be baptized again because he was baptized as a baby. I hope they had a discussion about priesthood authority. He said he felt embarrassed to be dripping wet in front of a group of people. Anyway, everything worked out and he is scheduled for baptism on March 19th. James took the book we bought about his families' story during World War II and Joe signed it. Joe will be baptized in our ward but he won't be attending our ward. He goes to church with his granddaughter who is a member and lives in Snowflake. His house is up for sale and he is going to be moving to Snowflake. Although he is 90 years old he gets up at 3 a.m. to start his day. He says that's when he likes to shovel the snow off his driveway. He helps a widow that lives near him and I wonder what she is going to do after Joe moves. Did I mention that he lost all of his toes because of arthritis and poor circulation. I am anxious to meet this man. From what I've read in the book that his brother wrote, his mother was an amazing woman who took care of five boys while her husband was a prisoner of war.

One more thing about Joe. He is 6'4" and he and James were talking about who was going to baptize him. James said he couldn't do it because he was too short. Joe said his daughter's husband is 6'7" and he is going to do it.

James went to the Show Low hospital today to get a Covid test. The last time they just took us in a small room, did the test, let us go, and called us with the results. This time they wanted him to see the doctor and stay in the hospital until the test results were in. They said the results would be ready in 40 minutes and the doctor would come back and tell him. He waited 90 minutes and then got up and left. They called him with the results which were negative for Covid, the flu, and RSV. Since he doesn't have Covid he bought the "stuff" he has to take to prepare for surgery. He went to CVS, Walmart and Walgreen's and then back to CVS where his prescriptions are. I guess it was a prescription. He got everything he needed and it only cost him $150. It doesn't pay to be sick or have cancer.

Back at home I took advantage of the fact that the car was gone and scraped the mud off the driveway and then swept the residue. I also moved the table from the back porch into the garage so when James brings home his toolbox he will have somewhere to put it. I also made tacos and asparagus thinking he would be hungry when he got home. Little did I know he stopped at Burger King and got something to eat. That's okay because I didn't really like the taco recipe I used so the tacos weren't that great. The asparagus was delicious and since James took so long to get home I put the asparagus in the frig for tomorrow.

James went back and picked up his toolbox and managed to get it in the car kind of side ways because it was a little longer than the car. Where there's a will there's a way.

James didn't feel well when he got home so he does what he normally does when he wants to feel better, he crawled into his sauna blanket, cooked for about an hour, woke up dripping with sweat and took a shower. He's a new man after this process.

I finished my book Meriden Park and started a new book, this one takes place in the 21st century and is called "Timeless Waltz."

I'm upset with Elder Lund's book. Hitler caused our hero Hans Otto Eckhart to be shot in the back. He is in prison having surgery and may be paralyzed. Hitler is supposed to be Hans's friend and he has done some good things for him but ultimately we know he doesn't turn out to be a good guy.

I walked and watched the newest Hallmark movie for the week before going to bed.
