"Covenants With God Strengthen, Protect, And Prepare Us For Eternal Glory"
Jean B. Bingham
I testify that as we choose to make covenants with Heavenly Father and access the power of the Savior to keep them, we will be blessed with more happiness in this life than we can now imagine and a glorious eternal life to come.

James and Greg left for Globe this morning. The kitchen cabinets are being delivered today.

I am reading Isaiah with this commentary:

This commentary is simply written and easy to understand and has applications for life today. I really like it.

I have been watching The Kids Baking Championship starring Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli. I finished Season 4 and the girl I was hoping would win, won. Her name is Linsey and she reminds me of Ruby.

Linsey said: "Besides being born, this is the
best moment of my entire life."

I went into town to mail Kacey's birthday card and my cousin Rita's. I also went to the Aliberto's in Wagon Wheel for an Arizona burrito. I go all the way to Wagon Wheel because they have a drive-thru. the one in Show Low does not. I should have gone to Taco Bell to see if they have the Mexican pizza back.

I blogged and walked when I got home and burned my pumpkin candles. The house smells delicious!

I put on our new sheets and bedspread and pillows on our bed. I also did a little taping so I can paint later. I listened to my book, "Stories of Brierly, Vol. 4 The Valley of the Mountains." I wonder where the first three books are. This is the only one I saw on Deseret Book Plus.

James came home from Globe, had some soup and then went outside to work. Later, around 6:15 I try to call him and text him to come and join me on the front porch for the sunset but he didn't answer so I watched the sun go down by myself. I also sweep and wash off the bird poop on the porch.

Some notes I took this morning while studying Isaiah:

Five Truths to Remember on the Hard Days

1. Isaiah 14:3 - I will give you rest from your sorrow and your fear.
2. Isaiah 19:20 - I will send you a Savior, a great one, and He shall deliver you.
3. Isaiah 30:15 - In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
4. Isaiah 25:4 - I will be strength to the needy, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat.
5. Isaiah 35:4 - Be strong, fear not; behold your God will come ... He will come and save you.

"Do What Mattereth Most"
Rebecca L. Craven
Second Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency
As we center our lives on Jesus Christ, we will be guided to do what mattereth most. And we will be blessed with spiritual strength, contentment, and with joy!

James and Greg worked in Globe today.

I finished Chelsea MacArthur's mini-cake and made some cupcakes for the kids. I got Chelsea's gifts today and put everything in a gift bag, including her sunflower birthday card. I got to her house around noon. A little black and white shaggy looking puppy greeted me by jumping up on me. Chelsea tried to make him stop but I told her it was okay. Chelsea put the puppy in his carrier and we went inside. The puppy's name is Ernie. He is some kind of Idaho Shag dog and she says they use these dogs to her cattle. She said he is going to be an outside dog. I told her that's the only kind of dog that James will have. I want a little one who can come into the house with me. Since we don't agree, we don't have a dog.

Peyton was at school and Boone was asleep so I visited with Chelsea and 3 year old Scotlyn while Chelsea looked at her gifts, a journal, some colored pens, and a scented candle called "Hit the Trail."

When I left Chelsea's I decided to go into town. I ordered a chicken Slinger sandwich and a diet cherry limeade on my app and away I went.

After Sonic I drove through the Show Low mailbox drop and mailed a card to Nancy Van Vleet and one to Rosie Lauritzen. Tomorrow is Rosie's birthday and the card to Nancy is to express sympathy for the loss of her grandson who committed suicide last week.

I went to Walmart to pick up a few things and got some cash. When I got back to Vernon I stopped at the post office and before going in I had a nice chat with my friend Millie Scott who was sitting in her car waiting for Jerry to get the mail. Millie always asks me what she can do for me. Although I am grateful for her thoughtfulness, I am thinking that I need to be doing something for her!

I had four yellow cards in my mailbox, which means I have to go to the window and pick up four packages. They were all sizes, from one that could fit in my hand, to a huge box that John, the postmaster carried out and put in my car for me. It's our new bed ensemble.

I got a text from Michelle Tesarek about her Prenda school students coming to do service for us. James said next Thursday but they have a field trip that day. It looks like they won't be coming until sometime in October, after fall break to do some service for us.

When James got home he hurried in to take a shower because he has an elder's quorum presidency meeting to go to this evening. He asked if I could fix him some dinner. I heated up some of the veggie soup I made which was still in the fridge. I also heated up and buttered a croissant. When he was finish in the shower he ate, said thanks, that hit the spot, and left for his meeting, taking my car.

The meeting started at 6:30 and he didn't get home until after 9. I guess they did a lot of reassigning ministering assignments.

We walked and listened to our book, "A Tenuous Betrothal."

Happy 92nd Birthday to my Mom! I love you Mom! And, Happy Birthday to my friend, Tamara! I think Tamara is 57.

James went with me to the Lakeside Cemetary to check out my Mom's grave to decide what kind of "flowers" to get.  We went back to town and while I was in Walmart shopping of course James went to Home Depot. James was going to go register his truck which he failed to register last year. When I went online to register it, it showed as 333 days overdue. James told me he would take his insurance card in to Show Low and he would register it. He forgot his insurance card, leaving it on the counter while he went to the bathroom before we left.  I guess he will have to come back another time because they won't register his truck without proof of insurance.

I noticed that at my mom's gravesite there were some containers put in the ground for flowers at the back of the concrete slab. I picked up some silk sunflowers with long stems at Walmart. When we were loading up the car I told him we should probably have some wire cutters to cut them off before we went back to the cemetery. He didn't want to go home and have to come back so he said, I think we can make them work. He did make them work. I didn't realize there were three containers in the front of the grave or I would have bought more flowers. I think they look ok though.

Charlie dressed appropriately:

When we got home and unloaded the groceries I was missing two candles, one for Tamara and one for Chelsea. I remembered as I was bagging our purchases they were the first bag and I set them aside. I must have forgotten to go back and load them in the basket. I was panicked because I wanted to go see Tamara this afternoon. James said he would go back and get the candles if I could run off an insurance card for him, which I did. He went back, got the candles, and registered his truck all in time for me to go see Tamara at the library before it closed at five.

While James was in town for the second time I decorated Tamara's cake and put her name on it. Don't ask me why I didn't take a picture because I don't know. I guess it's because I'm 74 years old and very forgetful and sometimes a little spacey. I also made Tamara a plaque of Luke 1:37, gave her a copy of the book, "The Peacegiver" and her candle scent was Farm Apple and it smelled delicious without even being lit.

I got to the library around 4:30. Tamara was visiting with someone and she introduced her to me. Her name was Emily, looked like she was in her 20's and is the director of the Shakespeare in the Park play, MacBeth that the junior high and high school kids in the area performed last week in the park. I heard it was outstanding I told her and Tamara, who had seen it, agreed that it was.

After Emily left I gave Tamara her gift bag and she seemed pleased with everything, including the flower card. She gave me a big hug before I left. I am grateful to have her as a friend and I am glad I could do something nice for her.

I am tired when I get home. I heat myself up some enchiladas and take a quick nap before it's time for Front Porch sunsethandholdingtime with James. I texted and called him but he didn't show up so I watched the sunset by myself this evening.
We had no rain today but it was 75 degress and we had some beautiful clouds.

Oh, I forgot to mention, Starlink contacted me and they are shipping our satellite within the next two weeks!

James was obsessed with this buck,
hence the reason he took so many pictures.

Our little herd of pronghorn antelope are back and we got some closeups of them as we were coming home from town on 3144.
Antelope are my favorite because they are so curious and will stand and look at you as you take their picture.
