You are a cherished, beloved child of Heavenly Father. He loves you so perfectly that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for you and for me. The Savior's love for us is unfailing - even when we fail! Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Remembering this love can help you push back the confusion of the world that tries to weaken your confidence in your divine identity and blind you of your potential.

Neither James nor I have felt well lately, although I would venture to say that I feel a tad better than he does. He has no energy. I will think his outside working and go into the bedroom and he's lying on the bed taking a nap.

This afternoon at 3 we left for town. Going to town seems to be our big adventure. We stopped at FedEx and left the package that was wrongly delivered to our house. They were closed so James leaned it up against the door.

James dropped me off at Walmart while he went to his appointment with Dr. Moffat. He was late picking me up. I had to wait outside. I'm glad the weather was nice. On the way home we stopped at Taco Bell for dinner.

Dr. Moffat thinks James has an infection. James has to come back into town tomorrow to pick up a prescription at CVS.

When we got home and the groceries were put away, I walked and watched, "A Ring for Christmas." James walked, did some indexing and took a nap.

We made two shopping trips this week, one for the missionary meal on Tuesday and one today for food for Barbara's funeral.

"Pure Truth, Pure Doctrine, and Pure Revelation"
President Russell M. Nelson
President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The General Authorities and General Officers of the Church who speak will focus their messages on our Savior, Jesus Christ, His mercy, and His infinite redeeming power. There has never been a time in the history of the world when knowledge of our Savior is more personally vital and relevant to every human soul. Imagine how quickly the devastating conflicts throughout the world - and those in our individual lives - would be resolved if we all chose to follow Jesus Christ and heed His teachings.

"The Greatest Possession"
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
When difficult things are asked of us, even things contrary to the longings of our heart, remember that the loyalty we pledge to the cause of Christ is to be the supreme devotion of our lives. Although Isaiah reassures us it is available "without money and without price" - and it is - we must be prepared, using T.S. Eliot's line, to have it cost "not less than everything."

I was so tired this morning when I got up. Maybe I'm not getting good rest at night and I need to go to bed earlier. Instead of doing anything productive, I went in to my recliner on the couch and turned on the TV to watch one of my favorite Christmas movies, "Mistletoe and Menorahs." I learned why 8 candles are lit on the Menorah. The Persians destroyed the Jewish temple. Through several miracles, the Maccabees rebuilt the temple in 8 days. Such an amazing story!
James wanted me to go to town with him but I was just too tired. I took a nap and ate ice cream instead. I made a schedule this morning but obviously it fell by the wayside.

James cleaned the chimney flue. For awhile the house smelled like burnt creosote. This afternoon I paid bills, redid our budget, and finished my Thanksgiving day blog post.

At six this evening I went down to the church and helped Kathy and Ruth W. decorate the Christmas trees in the two foyers. Kathy has to have things done a certain way. She redid much of what I did. I was a little frustrated but then I realized that's just Kathy. She gives so much service to the ward and I am grateful for that service.

While I was at the church I did get to give Pierce a hug! I left for home around 7:30. I walked and watched the movie, "Christmas Is You," starring Becca Tobin and Matthew MacCaul.

"The Name of The Church Is Not Negotiable"
Elder Neil L. Andersen
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
President Nelson spoke in general conference:
"The Lord impressed upon my mind the importance of the name He decreed for His Church, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints....It was the Savior Himself who said, 'For thus shall my church be called.'" Then President Nelson repeated, "The name of the Church is not negotiable."

"Make Time For The Lord"
President Russell M. Nelson
President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
My dear brothers and sisters, for two days we have been well taught by servants of the Lord who have sought diligently to know what He would have them say.
We have been given our charge for the next six months. Now the question is, how will we be different because of what we have heard
and felt?

I was up at 4 am. James called the bank around 7.  I tried sending Armando's money again and it finally went through.

James helped me so much today. He hung our grandkids stockings from the mantle and put the mantle garland on the mantle. He also carried other decorations up from the basement. He worked in the kitchen before dinner and afterwards he did the dishes. He also went to the Peeler's to borrow their chimney sweep. He put off cleaning the chimney until another day so he could help me.

Elders Baldwin and Wansgard and Tanna arrived around 6 p.m.
I gave the blessing on the food. First we ate our salad and rolls and then everyone filled their plates buffet style with roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

I tried to make conversation with Tanna. The missionaries were not too talkative. We had ice cream sundaes for dessert. Afterwards Elder Wansgard shared a message around peace. The elders left shortly after this message. Tanna stayed longer and while James was doing the dishes I visited with Tanna. She said she wanted Sean Hunsaker to bless Bradley because he has blessed and baptized other members of her family, including herself. We gave her some leftover food to take home with her. We should have done the same with the missionaries as we had plenty of food left.

After Tanna left I told James I was a little disappointed with the elders because they didn't talk more to Tanna. He reminded me that they were both pretty "green." Elder Baldwin has only been out about four weeks and Elder Wansgard four months. I invited Tanna to come and sit with us at church and she said she would.

After dinner I walked and finished up a Christmas movie and then went to bed. Again, I forgot to take pictures of the elders. Will I ever remember?
