As they act it out and then talk it out, rather than being caught unprepared in a hostile peer group setting, children can be armed with "the shield of faith wherewith they shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."

Gratitude
Gratitude is the beginning of civility, of decency and goodness, of a recognition that we cannot afford to be arrogant. We should walk with the knowledge that we will need help every step of the way.
Inklings
"We are all infants compared to the beings of glory and grandeur we are designed to become. No mortal being advances from crawling to walking to running without frequent stumbles, bumps, and bruises. That is how we learn."
- Dieter F. Uchtdorf
James left for the valley around 5:30. He brought me my breakfast before he left. Rowan drove to Chocolate Lake by himself this morning.
On our way to the Grapp's I dropped a birthday card off to Rosa because I knew today was her birthday and I was afraid the RS would be late with her card. Come to find out Paula had already sent her a card so she got to cards from the RS presidency. Oops.
It was overcast when we got to the Grapp's. Benson was waiting for us at the gate. The first place the Benson and Emsley take Ruby and Lola is to the rabbit pen. Liana and Tildy are brushing their horses, getting them ready for Ruby and Lola to ride. Cammy, Thomas, Malea, Leland and I sit on a bench to watch the show. Cammy has cinnamon rolls in the oven so when her timer goes off she runs inside to take them out. The cinnamon rolls are for us to take home. She also made us a loaf of bread.
We get a few sprinkles but not enough to make us go inside. Here are some pictures of Ruby riding Liana's Welch pony, Rocky, and Lola riding Tildy's horse, Raisin.
This picture was for Rowan because he
didn't come and he loves huskies.
After riding horses the girls played on the two trampolines with the Grapp kids. Lola and Emsley were on one, and Benson, Liana, Tildy and Ruby are on the other. All of the kids like Ruby and Emsley loves Lola. The girls had a great time and on the way home Ruby says to me: "Thank you so much gramma for taking us to the Grapp's."
James was home when we got back a little after 3. He brought each of the kids a bean burro from Burger House and he brought me a mixed green burro. We were all happy.
James took the kids on a Razr ride. When they returned I asked Lola if they saw any animals. She said, "all we saw was a dead coyote."
After dinner, Lola, Rowan, Ruby and I had some ice cream. The girls are excited that Sheri and her family are coming this evening. The girls went out on the porch and waited for awhile but finally came back in. The Trezise's didn't get here until after 9. They brought Ziggie and Ollie with them. Ollie climbed the stairs for the first time. Lola was so excited to see Sheri she just followed her around talking to her. We went to bed, some of us anyway, around ten. I think Evan and Rowan stayed up much later, but the girls and I and Sheri went to bed at ten, along with James.
