Ben, Alex, and Seth all showed up for work this morning.  They work a few hours early and then go home when it gets too hot.

I left for my appointment at the arthritis center around 9:45.  My infusion is supposed to start at 10:15.  I actually am feeling pretty good today.  I guess there is something to having a positive attitude.  The infusion only lasted around an hour and I come back in four weeks.  Afterwards I felt so good that I went shopping to get stuff for the house.
After stopping at Sonic for lunch, a corndog, because it's the easiest thing to eat in the car, I went to Target.  I shopped for Ruby's birthday, buying her a Cinderella Barbie, and a horse drawn coach like the one in the movie.  I also have a Be Kind and Have Courage necklace for her.

Marci Coombs

I also got some matching towels to go in our bathroom and a rug for the entryway.  The rug is going to show dirt and isn't quite big enough, but it will do.

Next I went to Home Goods and got this plant and another one very similar for the dining room table, and a candle lantern for one of the end tables in the family room.  This is the most that I have shopped in a long time!

James and I worked this afternoon trying to get ready for Stacy's friend Elska to come and see the house.  Stacy cleaned the wood floors but by the time we finished it was after 5pm and Eska asked if she could come tomorrow instead. Elska is interested in buying the house for an investment.

James and I had Taco Bell for dinner and went to bed.

While these two are enjoying the cool ocean breezes
in San Diego we are experiencing 115 degree heat here in
the Valley of the Sun!

Today was the day we were supposed to be ready to show our house...but we have had to postpone because we are not ready.

The pool pump finally got fixed today.  It was off all weekend.
Today James put a new light fixture in the entryway and put a mirror underneath.  The mirror was Stacy's idea.
Not quite what we had in mind, but
a great improvement over how it was.
I had to order a new debit card today.  Mine must have gotten thrown away.  It could be up to 10 days before I get the new one.  I guess I won't be going to Winco for awhile.

I was pretty miserable today but I managed to get up and go to Olive Garden with Dallin for his birthday.  We love spending one on one with our grandchildren as part of their birthday celebration  We had a nice visit with Dallin about his singing ambitions and we certainly enjoyed the delicious food.  I had pasta fagoli soup and shrimp and chicken carbonara.  James had grilled salmon and broccoli and Dallin had the Tour of Italy platter.  It was a nice evening but I came home and went straight to bed.  I can hardly waiting for tomorrow to try out my new medicine!
Good night from Mission Beach

Back in Arizona Trina and Lexy took their kids to hike and play around Payson and the Natural Bridge.

I guess they get their love of hiking from  their mom's.
Beautiful!

Happy 40th Birthday to Brian.  I am glad you get to be at
your "Happy Place" for your birthday.
Happy 20th Birthday Dallin.

I spent the morning preparing a matching game for Primary that I think the kids will really like.  James read his talk to me because I am no going to be attending church today because of the way I feel.  Sheri said she would help him in Primary.  I fell asleep when he left and three and 1/2 hours later I was still asleep.  James woke me up and I was surprised how late it was.  James spoke today with
Alex Braddock who is leaving on his mission on July 1st.
Alex with his parents Lynette and Cory
James had to tell me all about how great the class was.  Malachi got recognized during singing time for singing so well, something that never happens.  Isaiah, Shade, and Liam were all great and so were Taylor and Brooklyn.  They all loved the match game I made for them.

Although I didn't feel very well I couldn't pass up the invitation to have dinner at Darrel and Trina's because I wanted to see their kids.  The dinner was delicious.  We had seasoned ground beef over rice, yellow watermelon, raspberries and asparagus.  For dessert Addy and Ruby had made delicious chocolate chip cookies.

After dinner James and I drove to Scottsdale to check into the Sheraton Desert Oasis, our time share.  We have it for a week.  We could have spent the night, but I just wasn't feeling up to it.

Rachel and Thor
June 13, 2015
Linden, Arizona

This is where I was supposed to be today...Rachel's wedding in Dennis and Denise's backyard.  I had to call Denise this morning and tell her I wasn't going to make it and explain to her how bad I have been feeling.  I also missed going to Thomas Gale's funeral.

Kim, Brian, Joe, and Michael left for San Diego this morning.  Kim brought me some Deep Blue Rub by DoTerra.  I love it.  James rubbed it on my hurt joints and it was very soothing.  Thanks Kim!

Chelsea joined them while he kids were at
Newport Beach with Cody's family.

I spent most of the day in bed.  James brought me some hot and sour soup which for some reason is what I have been craving for the past week or so.

I discovered this afternoon that I have misplaced my debit card.  I let Michael use it last night at Winco but I do remember him putting it on the dining room table where I was sitting.  I don't know what happened to it after that.  Somehow it must have gotten thrown away.  Anyway a block was put on the card and a newone was ordered.

James took a break today from working on the house to attend the temple with Alex Braddock.  He also went grocery shopping but had to go to Walmart instead of Winco because Winco only takes debit cards or cash.

Here are some pictures from Rachel's wedding.  Today also happens to be Monte and Tasha's 21st wedding anniversary.

Happy 43rd Birthday Ian!
Ian loves to have a good time and is a great companion to his boys.

I felt pretty good this morning and was hopeful I would be able to go to the Moveliveontour show tonight featuring Derek and Julianne Hough.  The first and most important thing I did today was go to the bank and the Dollar Store to get birthday money and cards for Ian, Brian, Dallin and Emmy.  I sent $110 to Emmy: $50 from us, $20 from Sheri, $20 from Kim, and $20 from Darrel and Trina.

James and I had lunch at Jason's Deli.  I had the Caprese Panini which is a Panini sandwich with pesto, spinach, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.  I also had a cup of broccoli cheese soup.  Everything was very tasty.  James had a turkey croissant sandwich but he said my sandwich was better.

I called the arthritis center and made an appointment on Tuesday to start on my new medication, Actemra.  If I hadn't called them I wonder if they would have ever called me.

After lunch I needed a nap and then of course James wanted me to read to him.  Around 5pm I began to feel lousy.  I cancelled going with Kim, Brian, Stacy, and Ian because I was afraid I would get up after the show and not be able to walk out.  This disease is making me paranoid!

to dance with.
I am so sad I missed going to this show.

Happy 11th Anniversary to Amelia and Erik!

Joel finished laying the tile in the laundry room yesterday and today he grouted it.  Now it's James's turn.  He's going to install a new counter and shelves.  It looks like a totally different room.

You can't really appreciate it unless you had seen it before!
James worked a long time putting up baseboard and the new cabinet.  Alex helped paint and walla, we have a new room.

These are some of my accomplishments for the day: I made James some scrambled eggs for breakfast.  I read to him from "A Revealed Heart" where the heroine has gone bald because she has alopecia, and I paid bills.  I have extreme pain in both of my hips.  I think it was from sitting in a hard chair at the computer for several hours.  James worked in the laundry room until after 10.

I called the arthritis office and left a complaint and my frustration with not being able to get some help.  The girl at the desk, Michelle, was very understanding and said she would have someone call me tomorrow.  I gave up on the day around 4pm and went to bed.  If I lie really still I can get some rest.

Tricia posted on Facebook today that Emmy left her purse at the Dollar Store where she was shopping for Anna and Molly.  When she went back to get it the purse was there but $187 of her birthday money was missing.  I immediately sent out a family email asking for donations to send her and got a great response.  We won't be able to cover the entire amount, but we will replace over $100.  I love my kids and how they care for each other!

Dallin was here playing his guitar today.  He has such a nice voice and I love to listen to him.
No, we weren't at the beach today.

Wednesday, June 10, 2015

This is our friend Wendy DeWitt from Vernon.
She is on a mission with her husband Collin in the
Carribean.
This is where she lives.  I am glad she won't have to
suffer too much!

Back here at home I am getting a little frustrated with all the projects going on at once and all of the messes both inside and outside.  Michael and Alex are both working today.  Michael was told by his dad that he had to help pay for getting the red car fixed.  Remember, he backed in to it the other night in the Montero.

Sheri invited me to lunch today at Serrano's with Adrienne, Drea, and Christy.  I didn't feel great, but maybe going out to lunch will get my mind off of my problems for awhile.  Anyway, I enjoyed the company and the food.  I had a chili relleno.  I had forgotten how good they are.

Summer fun and Legos!  Trina says this is a nightmare for
mom's with babies and mom's with feet because Legos
hurt when you step on them!

I have so much to do and I hurt so much I can't do anything.  I do read to James and we are really getting in to our book: "A Heart Revealed."  Today I also listened to Dallin Oaks's conference address: "The Parable of the Sower."  At one point he was talking about life being hard and shared a quote from Hugh Nibley: "That's where faith comes in...it's supposed to be hard."

The Noel's
Some of the first people we met when we moved to
Chandler.  He was my priesthood advisor when I was the Primary President.  They moved to Provo where he coached BYU baseball and she worked at the MTC.  When we took our boys to the MTC she was one of the first people to greet them.  We love and appreciate Bob and Darlene's righteous example.
