Boston, Massachusetts
Temple #100
I arrived around 7:15 this morning in James's new room on the 5th floor. I think his room number is 530. James's blood sugar was 96 before breakfast. His nurse is a guy named Danny. Around 8 he had respiratory therapy and did very well.
We had our prayer and read from the Book of Mormon. This is one of the verses we read: They searched the scriptures diligently that they might know the word of God.
From President Eyring's talk:
"As we pray continually, no matter the circumstances of life, the Lord will offer us His peace and abiding support."
Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.
We also read the lesson introduction to this week's "Come Follow Me": The Lord Looketh on the Heart.
James called Bishop Crane and talked to him about his house today.
I had lunch at Cafe Rio, my salad. There was a guy in the elevator getting off on the 2nd floor. I asked him what was on the 2nd floor. He said surgery. "My cousin is having brain surgery. Yeah, we're changing him from a Democrat to a Republican."
The orthopedic doctor, Dr. Chang came by today. He told James again no weight bearing on his right leg for six week. He cannot wear a cast or a boot.
Dr. Cucher from the trauma team came by and said his breathing and the last lung x-rays look good.
I spent $50 at the hospital gift shop on a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt is because it is always so cold in James's room.
James is listening to his audio book and relaxing in bed. He is feeling a little pain in his left leg because it is doing all of the weight bearing and also because of his fractured pelvis.
Stacy visited today and brought James a dark chocolate bar. She was concerned because there was no "couch" for me to nap on in this room. I told her that I could use the recliner if needed.
I left around 8 this evening to go back to Stacy & Paul's. I watched the latest episode of "The Way Home" on my phone.
