He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb so he opened not his mouth.

Christlike Poise
Elder Mark A. Bragg
Of the Seventy
To contrast the difference between losing and maintaining poise, think about what happened as Christ and His Apostles left the Garden of Gethsemane. When confronted by soldiers seeking to arrest Jesus, Peter's reaction was to lose his poise and ash out violently by cutting off the ear of the high priest's servant, Malchus. Jesus Christ's reaction, on the other hand, was to keep His poise and to bring calm to a tense situation by healing Malchus.
This week for "Come Follow Me" we are studying the Savior, His Apostles and the Garden of Gethsemane. So far I have listened to Don't Miss This, Follow Him, and part of Unshaken Saints. The Don't Miss This worksheet looked something like this: The Angel strengthens, Judas betrays, Malchus wonders, Pilate compromises and Peter becomes converted. I would add, the Apostles sleep.
This is the most difficult time of the Savior's life. It is difficult to completely understand.
Yesterday was a good day and I was happy. Today, not so much. We left for town around 10:45. As we were going down our road there were papers scattered everywhere. James stopped and picked them up. He said that he thought they belonged to a Wilhelm. He saw the name on several of the papers. Alice must have already moved in to the MacArthur's. He said there were no vehicles at their house so we took the papers with us, stacked on the dashboard.
We stopped for lunch at LaCasita. I ordered a mixed green burro and James ordered a chicken enchilada with green sauce. I couldn't eat all of mine so I asked for a to go box. After lunch James dropped me off at Walmart while he went to Home Depot. My shopping didn't take long. I checked out and tried to call James. He didn't answer his phone and he did not answer my texts. I wondered where he was. I waited outside about 30 minutes and finally gave up and went back inside. I ordered a piece of cheesecake from Carl's Jr. and sat down in their dining area to eat. I had just finished when I turned around and saw James standing in the entry of Walmart. He was looking at his phone. I looked at mine and he was calling me. I answered and told him where I was. He could tell that I was upset. I told him I had called him several times. He said, "I thought you wanted me to wash your car." I said, "I thought you were going to pick me up first." He looked at his phone and realized he had his ringer off. I mentioned that he was able to talk on the phone to Armando and a couple of other people on the way here yet he didn't answer my call which was quite frustrating.
Alice called me when we got home. I had left her a message. I returned her call and asked if James could bring over her papers. She said she was going to run over to her mom's and would leave her door unlocked. James left the papers on the table. Later Alice thanked me. She mentioned Trace not being home yet and I should have asked her if she was married but I didn't. She did tell me she spent most of last night fighting a home fire in Show Low and had slept most of the day.
I got texts from both Sheri and Trina today. Both families want to come up the end of the month. I told them that would be wonderful. Trina said it would depend on Darrel getting the time off from work.
I watched Lacey Chabert's first Hallmark movie. It was made in 2010 and is called "Elevator Girl." She looks so young!
