I prayed for rain today and He sent it. I am grateful.

Jared Ammon texted and said he washed and waxed my car. A few minutes later I got a phone call that went something like this:

Gramma, I have some bad news. I was coming back from the carwash and I ran your car in a ditch.

I sent Jared our insurance information so he could call a tow truck. He called the insurance and started a claim but never called a tow truck.

JA really played down the damage to the car. Stacy called and asked me if I wanted her to send some pictures and I said yes. Here is what she sent:

Ok, he did say the back tire went into the ditch.

I don't see any real damage here.

The side airbags deployed.

Stacy said she doesn't think he should drive it

because his vision would be impaired with the airbags.

Now this is surprising. I had no idea any

damage was done to the front. This is

one side and then the other.

Oh dear. We need to get it to a body shop.

James was just as surprised as I was and immediately started making plans to send it to a body shop. The problem is he could never get in touch with Jared Ammon. Jared didn't have to use a tow truck to get the car out. Some guys working at a nursery used their equipment to get the car out and he drove it the short distance to Stacy & Paul's. He told me he thought he could fix the airbags but I question that.

Chandler Auto Body is out of business. The new business is called Caliber Collision. James made an appointment at 3:30 today but it didn't happen. Jared was still moving stuff and then he was asleep. Stacy says she doesn't think he should be driving it anyway because of the airbags. I guess we will try again tomorrow.

The first time Jared told me about the car he never mentioned it lurching. When he told James he said it lurched and that's why he lost control and landed in the ditch. If this is true there is something seriously wrong with it and I am concerned. Our mechanic and nephew Erik no longer works as a mechanic. He is a teacher at a school. James has been talking to him and he has agreed to look at it, at the school. I wonder if someone complained about him working on cars in his backyard.

James had an appointment with his heart doctor, Dr. Memon in Globe today. His appointment was at 2:20 and he said he arrived at 2:19.5. The doctor says he is in good shape as far as his heart is concerned and praised him for staying healthy. He also said his daughter passed away and seemed quite depressed about it.

I am wondering why this happened to Jared Ammon. We have had no problems with the car except the air conditioning stopping when the car slows down and stops at a traffic light.

This evening we walked and listened to our book, "Chiara's Choice."

Tabby disappears most every morning. The first time I realized it happened I was so concerned that something had happened to her.

We discovered where she goes. Jared Ammon saw her coming out from under the storage shed. Until she returned Tom has to take a nap by himself.

When Tabby returns:

She seems more like a wife or mother than

a sister. James says he's a typical Tom cat,

sleeping all day and letting the woman take

care of him.

Jared went on an early morning ride with Luna. He really loves her. We are grateful he is riding her because she needs the exercise.

James went in to town this morning to get some supplies for Willy. The supplies are for the stable. Willy is going to do some welding at his house.

Jared fixed his own breakfast this morning. James and I had both eaten earlier. I set out the baked ziti for lunch. It was a little dried out so I cooked up some more hamburger and added two bottles of spaghetti sauce.

James and Jared Ammon worked together on the deck this afternoon. James says it is taking a lot longer than he expected he would. We have more room with the tree gone.

Well, the Vernon horse was sold so now James is calling about the bay. We will see what happens.

Jared Ammon left around 5 this evening for the valley. He took my car. I told him about the shroud was missing and to be careful what he runs over and stay off bumpy roads. I checked and he made it safely to Stacy & Paul's.

James had a quarterly stake training meeting this evening so I had the evening to myself.

I finished the movie "The Perfect Catch" and started and finished "Pumpkin Pie Wars." I finished my book, "The Art of Love & Lies" and listened to Brother Jared Halverson.

Kim is going to make me a birthday cake. A strawberry cake with fresh cooked strawberries in the middle, strawberry cream cheese frosting covered in chocolate ganache. It's like the one I made in April for a Relief Society activity and it is delicious! We will take it to Serrano's. We are meeting the family there on Saturday at 2:00. We are going down for Cope & Amy Reynolds sealing at the Gilbert temple at noon. Since I was going to be in the valley anyway I wanted to see my family hence the lunch at Serrano's.

Up at 5:15. One of the first things I did was rub Deep Blue on James's lower back and used the hand massager on his back. He says it really helps.

We left Jared Ammon to work on the deck while we went in to town. James needs gas for his equipment and there are a few groceries I forgot to get on Saturday.

James dropped me off a Walmart while he went to Circle K to fill his containers with gas. I'm glad we brought the truck because I hate for my car to smell like diesel and gasoline.

James also went to Lowe's to look for a piece of siding for our house where Greg fell and pushed his foot through a piece the other day when he was helping cut down the tree. Lowe's had nothing and I guess Home Depot didn't either.

On our way out of town we made two stops, one at KFC for a bucket of chicken, and the other at a place that sells siding. James found a piece he thinks will match, if not exactly, closely.

After putting the groceries up while the guys ate chicken, I started making baked ziti. I wanted to make it early so I could have some before I stop eating.

Jared tried some and said he really liked it. I'm glad because that's what we are having for dinner.

This afternoon while it was raining Jared Ammon did a search on the internet for horses. He found one in Apache Junction, a 4 year old bay for $750 and a 2 yr. old sorrel for $2,000. I loved the sorrel. I don't really care for bays.

James called on the sorrel but there was no answer. The number had an extension which makes us think it was an office number. He said he would call again tomorrow. I don't even want to consider the bay until we see if we can get the sorrel. James likes the price of the bay.

I listened to Brother Halverson today and watched the latest episode of "When Calls the Heart."

As we walked in to sacrament meeting today we were greeted by sister missionaries, the first we have ever had in the Vernon ward.

Sister Brooksby is from North Carolina. I told her that is where I want to go next summer because that is where my grandpa is from. She asked me where and I said Wilmington. She said that's 30 minutes away from where she lives. Sister Fish is from Rigsby, Idaho. I told her that we had a grandson who served in the Idaho Falls mission and she said that she lived in that mission. It was nice to make a connection with both sisters.

Sue was not here today so it was Bridget Jordan, James and I on the second row this morning. The Tesarek's were the speakers in sacrament meeting. Restin was the youth speaker.

Michelle started out by reciting the Young Women Theme which starts out: I am a beloved daughter of Heavenly Father...

Michelle was baptized on May 31, 2015. She said she felt healed at her baptism. She talked about how her life has changed since she joined the Church. She used Elder Renlund's talk, "Your Divine Destiny" as the basis for her talk.

We are all children of Heavenly Father and we have a divine nature. Who we are and our potential transcends mortality. We have a spiritual identity and a divinity within. Knowing our divine nature can change our lives and determine our Eternal destiny. We need to see our body as a temple and gain self-mastery over it.

Michelle's definition of JOY is a mastering of appetites.

Travis Tesarek

Travis started out by quoting the 13th Article of Faith.

What do we give our attention to? What we do determines our beliefs. Decisions Determine Destiny. We need to maintain a covenant connection with the Lord. Discipleship is a state of being.

We can have the attributes of Christ woven in to our beings. Let your light so shine....

Are you actions congruent with your covenants. Represent Him well. Live and die for your faith. -ETB The pattern of Christ.

Wendy Dewitt taught Relief Society. The talk was President Nelsons, "Peacemakers needed."

I must say, Wendy is entertaining and has lots of stories to tell. Wendy said the lesson was hard for her because she is a justice person. I'm not totally sure but I think I am a mercy person. James says he used to be a justice person but now he is more about mercy.

I told Bridget Jordan I liked the two plaques she made yesterday. She said they were for her two angels who couldn't attend the meeting. Teresa Smith and Charlotte South are her ministering sisters. Teresa fell and broke her hip and had to have hip replacement surgery and Charlotte fell and broke her pelvis.

I asked Bridget if she had eyes that were sensitive to the sun because she always wears sunglasses. She told me that she has a condition of the brain called light phobia. If she gets too much light she gets a bad headache and the only way she can get rid of it is to lie down in a dark room and wait for it to pass. She said her mother had the same condition.

In other ward news: Heather Bowen shaved her head. I think she is craving attention. Kerri told me her mother is lonely and since her family doesn't call very often or visit she was wondering if I could contact her more often. I said I would .

After our meetings Kathy Crane had a visit outside. Even though we are neighbors we don't see each other very often. It looked like it was going to rain this afternoon but it never did.

James grilled hamburgers for lunch at my request. I heated up a can of Busch beans and sauteed some mushrooms.

Jared rode Luna in the morning and afternoon but she wouldn't come when he called her in the evening. She is getting more use to him and easier to ride.

I made dinner for the guys, chili cheese dogs and peas. They both loved it. They went for a ride up on the mountain while I cleaned the kitchen. After the kitchen was cleaned I went in to work on my blog and listen to Lynne Hilton Wilson and her podcast on Romans 7-16.
