Elder Perry also offered practical advice. He said, "Give companionships a reasonable number of assignments, prayerfully chosen, clustered geographically where appropriate so travel time is used well." He would counsel, "Start with those who most need visits. Build from those most likely to welcome and respond well to visits." He concluded, "Faithful consistency brings miracles."

Happy 4th of July

and
Happy 9th Birthday to Lola!

Nice outfit Lola!

Lola memory, four or five years ago

James and Rowan start work about 6 a.m. They take a break and come in for breakfast, prayer and scriptures around 8. Having prayer and scriptures with Rowan and James has been a pleasure for me. It feels to me like Rowan has a testimony and a desire to serve a mission. I am so grateful for him and his goodness.

Today was a lazy day for me because I was not feeling well. I did manage to do five loads of laundry and finish my June blog.

James went in to town today and brought back Hook & Ladder sandwiches from Firehouse for Rowan and I. This was the high point of our day celebrating America and free enterprise. This country really is the greatest country in the world and I am so grateful for those who protect our freedoms. God Bless America!

I started a new puzzle today. It's a Re-marks, my favorite brand. It's called Childhood Favorites and refers to children's books.
James and I started a new audio book: "The Gentleman's Deception."

Rowan and James worked in the yard today. They are pouring a curb along one edge of the to be planted yard.

Some of the other things I did today. Watched "Sue Thomas F.B.I.", listened to "Don't Miss This" and "Follow Him." Also I did my walking getting over 12,000 steps.

Some notes I took from DMT: Repentance is daily turning toward Jesus.

Follow Him: Discern prophetic priorities.

No Fireworks again tonight. We are in Stage 1 fire control now.

Just Keep Going - With Faith
Elder Carl B. Cook
Of the Presidency of the Seventy
Thankfully, when we are weak or incapable, the Lord can strengthen our faith. He can increase our capacity beyond our own. I have experienced that.

We left for the valley this morning at 6:30 a.m. My infusion is scheduled for 10:30 which gives us plenty of time. We went the Payson way in my car.

We went through Burger King in Payson and got croissants. I got bacon and James got ham. James dropped me off at AARA before ten and he left to meet Armando at the Casa Grande airport. Frances called me right back after checking in. Armanda started my infusion somewhere between 10:05-10:10.

I finished my infusion before James got back from Casa Grande so I walked over to Costco. James arrived about 20 minutes later. Here are some of the things we bought:
Toilet tissue, a 27 gallon storage container, two loaves of Dave's thin bread, banana walnut mini loaves, Swiffer duster refills, trash bags, walnuts, pistachios, a watermelon, acai and pomegranate juice, lemons, and my alkaline balanced water.

After our shopping spree we were hungry so we looked up the nearest Chili's. Kim gave James a gift card for Father's Day. The closest Chili's was at Stapley just south of the 60.

I got a text from Trina asking where the vacuum was. They are cleaning up and getting ready to go. They will be leaving soon and Rowan is going to stay there to help James work this week. I asked her to take a selfie which she did.

Love these faces!

We were disappointed with our meals at Chili's. I wanted my Carribean salad which they don't offer any more. I got a steak with potatoes and broccoli. The steak was tough and the potatoes tasted like they came from a box. James got a philly cheesesteak and he said it wasn't as good as the one at Persnikkity's in Show Low.

We went home the Globe way so James could stop at the Peeler's for some measurements. While James was at the Peeler's I went to McDonald's and got an ice cream.

We got home before 5. Rowan helped James get rid of some more bees. James said about 1,000 this time. I was outside on the patio and got stung. Rowan got stung too.

We had a frozen pizza, leftover burgers, and cereal for dinner.
James and I walked to get our 10,000 steps after spending half of the day in the car.

Got my new credit card today to replace the one someone used.

Never Give Up An Opportunity To Testify Of Christ
President Bonnie H. Cordon
Young Women General President
I have attended the temple many times, but when I worship in the house of the Lord, it changes me. Sometimes while fasting, I find myself simply going hungry, but other times, I feast on the Spirit with purpose. I sometimes have mumbled prayers that are repetitive and routine, but I have also come eager to receive counsel from the Lord through prayer.

I was hurting this morning so I ate something and made the mistake of taking three Tramadol. James and I said a fast prayer before we left for sacrament meeting praying for Jared, Jared Ammon, and Alex. We got to the church before Darrel and his family and we picked a row in the back overflow to sit. We took up an entire row.

We had lots of visitors today, including the row in front of us.

Brother Skousen conducted the meeting. The opening hymn was "The Battle Hymn of a Republic." In the way of stake business we voted on Terry Tignor and Ken Johnson receiving the Melchizedek priesthood. We know Terry was ordained after sacrament meeting by his friend Cope Reynolds. Not sure about Ken Johnson but we assume he was ordained too. Terry's goal is to have his temple recommend before Cope and Amy Reynold's sealing on July 15th.

These are the people who bore their testimonies:
Chris Skousen talked about family and his mother's recent funeral. Families are the eternal order of heaven.
Tamara Applegate talked about her mother who has been dead for 30 years. Death is part of the plan. We are tied to Jesus Christ.
Cope Reynolds talked about the Book of Mormon and how it helped in Terry Tignor's conversion.
Joshua Harris It has been five years since I have born my testimony. He talked about his patriarchal blessing, Parker's upcoming baptism and the comfort of the Spirit which he has felt many times.
Brother Harris's testimony touched me the most because he seemed so humble and sincere. I texted him after church and told him so.
Marcy Westbrook. I've been in Primary for 18 years and was just recently released. She is grateful for the power of the priesthood and the recent priesthood blessing he received.
Greg Andersen Told a story that happened to him 34 years ago as a Navy diver where his life was unexplainably saved. "I believe in the power of prayer. I am here because the Lord healed me.
Michelle Tesarek "Do this life with purpose, putting Jesus at the center.
Several children bore their testimonies including Parker Harris, Joshua's daughter and Georgia Jameson one of the young women in our ward.
The closing hymn was "The Star Spangled Banner." Darrel whispered something to Trina and she whispered back. When the song was over the woman in front of them turned around and chastised them for talking during the national anthem. I felt so bad. Thank goodness she wasn't a member of our ward.

Darrel said they weren't staying for the second hour because they had been offended. He was joking, but they didn't stay.

During Sunday School I started getting dizzy and nauseous. I had to get up and leave a little early, just before class ended. I went home because James said he had a meeting with someone. Barbara and Terry brought him home.

After lunch and putting a roast in the crockpot Trina, Darrel and all of the kids went to Greer. James and I took a nap. I got up early from my nap and baked a cake for Lola's birthday. We are celebrating tonight. She asked for a red velvet cake. I came up with the cream cheese frosting.

I didn't put enough red food coloring in the cake so it was an off red color but who cares, you only catch a glimpse of it before you take a bite. Lola decorated the cake:

Happy 9th Birthday Lola!
