Up at 4 this morning. I said my prayers first and then began reading through my talk. I found time to type James's talk for him which he was grateful for because he said he had a hard time reading his own writing.

I tried on an outfit I got a year ago and it still doesn't look good on me. I set a goal. I am going to lose 20 pounds by my birthday. I have to if I am going to have any self-esteem at all.

James and I went directly to sit on the stand when we got to church. Bishop Hunsaker came over and shook our hands and so did Brother Bach, of high councilman. Neither Pierce or Brother Allen, Bishop Hunsaker's counselors are here today.

After the sacrament I was next on the program. I got up and began. It was about 9:30. My talk is filed on my computer and in my gospel study journal under talks and Easter. Also in our main home file, black box on top of file in our bedroom.

After my talk the Primary children came up and sang "Gethsemane."

After that there was a congregational hymn and then it was James's turn. He did well even though he said he had difficulty with his voice. He was down all the way home even though I tried to cheer him up. James's talk is on my computer and he has a copy in his journal.

When we got home I put our small ham in the oven. After it cooked about 30 minutes I added the cheesy potatoes I bought at Costco. James had a snack and went to lie down on our bed. 

When I called him in to eat he was pretty groggy and grumpy. I guess he had a bad headache. We had ham, potatoes, asparagus and croissants. As soon as James finished eating he went back to bed. Hopefully he will wake up later feeling better.

A couple of things that made me happy during sacrament meeting. 

Chelsea MacArthur and her girls were there. The girls, Peyton and Scotty, sang with the Primary. 

Another thing that made me happy was to see our friends Dave and Tammy Montgomery sitting in the back of the chapel. Afterwards Tammy messaged me and asked me for a copy of my talk and complimented me on it. Kim wants one too so I told her I would send her a copy when I sent one to my daughter.

This evening I sent out my testimony to our family. I sent to the kids and their spouses along with Adam and Ben, Autumn, Joe, Alex, Max, Evan, Jared Ammon, Dallin, Michael, Joshua, Addy, Rowan, and Ruby. I also sent to Harold, Vickie, Dennis and Denise.

I want my family to know that I have a testimony of the living, resurrected Jesus Christ. Because He overcame sin and death, we too can overcome sin and death and live with Him, Heavenly Father, and our loved ones throughout eternity! What a blessing!

James and I watched a Hallmark movie this evening called, "The Blessing Bracelet." It was great.

I was up at 4:00 this morning. I read some scriptures and then said my prayers. 

James went to Barbara Bartels around 8 o'clock and from there went on to Jimmie & Tamara Applegate's to help them pick out a spot on their property to build a home. They want James to be their general contractor although they will be doing much of the work themselves. Jimmie runs a rehab center here in Vernon and Tamara is the town librarian. Their youngest son is on a mission.

The weather was beautiful today, or so it seemed. I never actually went outside to enjoy it. I believe the high was in the 60's and there was no wind. There was an Easter egg hunt and lunch at the Vernon park beginning at 11:00. Paula Johnson, a friend, and a member of our ward was in charge. My friend Sue Hubble took her little granddaughters Kaitlyn and Sky and she said they had a wonderful time.

This afternoon while James was working on his talk at the dining room table, I was in the bedroom at my desk working on mine. I carefully went through the show notes for "Follow Him" and typed the things I wanted to use. I had also gone through Emily's book, "Celebrating a Christ-Centered Easter" and wrote down some things. I had considered using her book but eventually decided to use the last week of Jesus' life approach as used in the "Follow Him" podcast. I also used  Brother Sweat's  C-He cleanses us, H - He heals us, R - He restores us, I - He identifies with us, S - He strengthens us, T - He transforms us. 

James wanted me to type his talk for him but I didn't have time this evening. Hopefully I will have time tomorrow morning.

I was sad to see it was after 6 when I woke up this morning. I am feeling pretty miserable. James brought me half his cinnamon roll and some Pero for breakfast and I immediately felt better. 

Anthony Sweat is the guest this week on Follow Him. I ran off their show notes today because I liked so many things he said and I may want to use them in my talk. I started listening to Brother Sweat's book, "Christ In Every Hour." I found my copy of the book and followed along with the audio. I have read the book before and had so many things underlined. 

James went to town and brought me back a mini Firehouse Sub. It was small but delicious. James took a short nap and then went to Barbara Bartels to dig trenches for electrical and plumbing. 

I started stripping the polish off the wood floor in the front room. I started by the door going downstairs. It is a slow, tedious, messy process. I am out of the polish stripper and I ordered another gallon which cost me $37. James gave me his $50 gift card he got for his birthday and that paid for the stripper. I also had a $50 gift card using the rewards on my credit card. It is all spent. 

I continued to walk, blog, and listen to Anthony Sweat. That Follow Him podcast was sooo good. James came in to walk and we started a new book together. It is one I have partially listened to but I am willing to start over to include James. It is called "The Reluctant Baron."

Sheri called James today. The brand new sump pump they had installed is leaking. James told her to check the warranty and call on it.

Today is Good Friday. It is good because this is the day Jesus overcame sin.
