Up at 4:37 I am going to start getting up at 4 a.m. so I have more time to ready and study.

Today is the 24th anniversary of my mother's death.  I wanted to go visit her grave today and James and I had planned a trip to town.

I made whole wheat pancakes for breakfast. They were good but afterwards I did not feel well. I went into the bedroom and sat on the recliner and turned on the TV. I began watching a movie I had taped called "God Is Not Dead."  James came in and asked if I was going to town. I told him I wanted to but I was not feeling well.  I told him I was watching a movie and he sat down and watched it with me.

It's about a college guy who takes a philosophy class and the teacher wants everyone to write and sign a paper saying that God is dead. He, Joshua is his name, refused to do it. The teacher says the only way he will pass the class is to sign the paper of get up in front of the class and explain why God isn't dead. And he, the teacher, will be the judge of how he does. Joshua says, "With all due respect, I am not sure you can be objective. What about having the class judge?" The professor reluctantly agrees. Joshua does an excellent job and it really angers his teacher. The students vote and everyone stands up and says, "God is not dead." Powerful and a lot more to the story than I have written here. We both really liked it and I wish I would have had Sheri watch it when she was here and even Ben and Evan.

James went to town without me. He needed to pick up some plans. Also, he is taking his computer in to get it fixed. When James returned he brought me back a Slinger and a small cherry limeade. He also stopped and got the mail; The "Find a Way Home" book I bought for my friend Kerri's birthday. The purple sherpa blanket I bought for Christmas and refills for my colored pens.

I took lots of rest breaks this afternoon. Napping in between the getting little done. James and I did our walking and listening. We are really in to our book, "Into the Flames." I worked on my blog and my cake scrapbook. A little spot cleaning here and there and that's about it. We went to bed early.

Be True To God And His Work
Elder Quentin L. Cook
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
In our day one of the most significant challenges is contention and verbal abuse related to societal issues. In many cases anger and abusive language have replaced reason, discussion, and civility. Many have abandoned the admonition of the Savior's senior Apostle, Peter, to seek Christlike qualities such as temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity. They have also abandoned the Christlike quality of humility.
In addition to controlling anger and bridling other passions, we need to lead pure moral lives by controlling our thoughts, language, and actions. We need to avoid pornography, evaluate the appropriateness of what we are streaming in our home, and avoid every form of sinful conduct.

Up at 4:43. ...the wind was contrary. (Matt. 14:24) We know what that's like here in Vernon!

James has been having all kinds of delays and weird happenings with the Glendale airport job. Concrete has had to be cancelled numerous times, mostly because of weather, but now because Armando is not ready and can't get enough help. Also, there has been quite a run around for anchor bolts which are embedded in the cement to hold  the building up. Armando goes to Mesa and they say they aren't there, but in Glendale. He goes to Glendale and they don't seem to know anything about them. Finally James got involved and spoke to someone in Mesa. This guy said the person working in Glendale was new and didn't know where the bolts were but they will be available when Armando goes back. This is not the first time this has happened. Another thing, concrete goes up $1,400 in April.

I read some things on a site called Heavy on Hallmark today regarding out "The Way Home" series. Here is what people are speculating: Colter is a time traveler. People are saying this because he recognized Kat as an adult.
The dog that Jacob chased was a time traveler and Jacob followed him to the pond and jumped in. Jacob is caught in the 1800's and Kat goes back to find him.

I finished the book "Secret of the Sonnets" and I started Emily's new book, "From Grace to Charity." I also worked on my cake scrapbook this afternoon. I had forgotten how many cakes I have made.

It snowed today which was not predicted. It was powdered sugar snow and most of it melted but it just kept coming down.

James and Collin Dewitt drove to a scheduled family history meeting in Lakeside this evening. When they arrived at the stake center they looked all through the building looking for the meeting. They finally asked some sisters that were sitting in the foyer and one of them said: "Oh, that was cancelled. No one told us either." James said, "Yes, but we drove 35 miles to get here." Collin said if they rescheduled it that he probably wouldn't go. They were going to show a film from RootsTech that he had already seen. None of the sister family history consultants from our ward went and now I'm glad they didn't.

I did some research for my Easter talk this evening. I have three different directions I am considering going. I eliminated one. Now I have two.

When James got home we walked and listened to "Into the Flames."
It is now 1935.

We Can Do Hard Things
Elder Isaac K. Morrison
Of the Seventy
The hard things in our lives should come as no surprise once we have entered the strait and narrow path. Jesus Christ learned "obedience by the things which he suffered." As we follow Him, especially in our difficult times, we can grow to become more like Him.
One of the covenants we make with the Lord in the temple is to live the law of sacrifice. Sacrifice has always been part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a reminder of the great atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ for all who have lived or will live on earth.
100 Favorite Verses - #100 "Whom Say Ye That I Am?"
Matthew 16:13-16
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith uno them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

A testimony born of divine revelation rather than human wisdom.

I got up at 4:24 this morning. James got up at 4:45 because he wants to leave at 5 for the valley. We had family prayer before he left and I told him to grab a piece of chicken for lunch, which he did.

I had the last of the pasta and Italian sausage for breakfast. I've always been a little unconventional when it comes to breakfast.

I worked on my blog this morning. It was slow going because I didn't feel well. I took an early rest time. Some other things I did today: Swept and mopped all of the tile floors on the ground level. Vacuumed the family room, fireplace room, and our bedroom. Damp mopped the wood floors on the ground level. It always feels so good to do a little cleaning.

I worked on my cake scrapbook, watched a little T.V,, and listened to Ben Wilcox on "Teaching with Power." I also walked 13,000 steps and listened to a conference address and my book, "Secret of the Sonnets."

James got home around 7 p.m. He came home the Payson way so he couldn't bring me a mixed burro. Instead he brought me a drink and a Slinger from Sonic.

As soon as James got home he wanted to do some walking. We walked over an hour while listening to "In The Flames" our book about the depression in America and Hitler's rise to power before World War II.

It was 59 degrees today but it was windy.

Today I sent out a Book of Mormon message to the family. In it
I quoted 1 Nephi 3:7. Was it coincidence or inspiration that
Jared wore these socks today?

Nourishing and Bearing Your Testimony
Elder Gary E. Stevenson
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
I invite you to seek opportunities to bear your testimony in word and in deed. Such an opportunity came to me recently, at the end of a meeting with the mayor of a capital city in South America, in his chambers with a number of his cabinet officials. As we concluded with very cordial feelings, I hesitantly thought I should share my testimony. Following the prompting, I offered a witness that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and the Savior of the world. Everything changed at that moment. The Spirit in the room was undeniable. It seemed everyone was touched. "The Comforter ... beareth record of the Father and of the Son." I am so grateful I summoned the courage to bear my testimony.
100 Favorite Verses - "Be My Disciple"
Luke 14:33
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
D&C 98:13
And whoso layeth down his life in my cause for my name's sake, shall find it again, even life eternal.
Alma 22:18
O God, Aaron hath told me that there is a God; and if there is a God, and if thou art God, wilt thou make thyself known unto me, and I will give away all my sins to know thee, and that I may be raised from the dead, and be saved at the last day. And now when the king had said these words, he was struck as if he were dead.

"Covenant keepers are entitled to a special kind of rest that comes to them through their covenantal relationship with God." - President Russell M. Nelson

4:50 Up for prayer and study.
Whose image do I bear?

I read several chapters from Emily's book, "Celebrating a Christ-Centered Easter." She focuses on the people surrounding the Savior the last week of his life.

I had cereal, black berries and pistachios for breakfast. For lunch James grilled the chicken that has been marinating in the frig in honey-lime marinate. I made rice pilaf and steamed some fresh broccoli and we had a delicious lunch. It was so good.

This afternoon we watched the finale of "The Way Home." We still don't know what happened to Jacob. All we know is Kat has an idea where he might be and it probably involves the pond. Now we have to wait until next season to see what happened. Of course.

I paid bills and James worked upstairs running back and forth to the printer in our bedroom. Not only did I pay bills but I caught up on my blog.

This evening James and I did some walking while listening to "Into the Flames." Benji's friend Mose dies. Very sad. I also listened to "The Secret of the Sonnets." According to this book, a Regency romance, Anne Hathaway, Shakespeare's wife, wrote the sonnets that were credited to him. Interesting.

To bed early because James is leaving for the valley at 5 in the morning.
