The Day
Elder Ronald A. Rasband
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Our living prophet is doing his part to flood the earth with the Book of Mormon. We must follow his lead.

Scarlett and Vickie both have birthdays today. Happy Birthday!

I slept in until 6:30. This is becoming a habit. James is home today and the plan is to take my car in to get the oil changed. His truck needs it too but he doesn't want to take both. Since we are taking my car to Flagstaff on Saturday my car is the priority. We left for town after 10 and Kim just texted me and said they are on their way.

Walmart Auto Center is closed because they are paving the area around it. James dropped me off so I could do my shopping and then he took the car to Jiffy Lube.

I found plenty to buy at Walmart including the following: a new mouse for James's computer, organizing containers for the pantry, new curtains for our bedroom door and two blankets for Christmas.

James waited for me in the parking lot until I finished checking out. On the way home we stopped at Culver's. I wanted to try one of their chicken sandwiches because some guy in Walmart told me they were the best. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and James ordered a fish sandwich. I think James got the better sandwich. I like the Chicken Slingers at Sonic much better than the sandwich I got.

It was raining in Vernon when we got home and it wasn't just a little trickle and it rained a long time. I unloaded the car while James went in to brush his teeth and get ready to go back to town. He made an appointment with an orthopedic doctor and the only time he could get in without waiting over a month was this afternoon at two.

I had just finished putting groceries away and had gone into the bedroom to relax when Kim and Brian arrived. Brian's Bronco his beautiful! It is great to have Kim and Brian here. They brought me a huge package of toilet paper and one of paper towels. Thank you so much!

When James came home from the doctors he was so happy. He said Dr. Ellsworth is going to fix his thumb for him. He also said the break is not in his foot but in his leg just above his foot. He really liked the doctor and is so glad that he went.

This evening Kim, Brian and I watched the first three episodes of "Dancing with the Stars." Kim loves Charli and Mark as much as I do!

Let Dong Good Be Our Normal
Elder Rafael E. Pino
Of the Seventy
If we are steadfast and immovable in doing good, our customs will help us to stay on the covenant path.

The Eternal Principle of Love
Elder Hugo Montoya
Of the Seventy
Our Heavenly Father's love for each of HIs children is real. He is there for each one.

Cookies, eggs, and prayer before Greg arrives and he and James leave for Globe. I made oatmeal walnut cookies and while they were baking I cooked scrambled eggs for James's breakfast.

After James left I went in and finished listening to Ross Baron on Follow Him with John Bytheway and Hank Smith.  I really do enjoy this podcast.

I couldn't reach James via phone so I called Greg today to make sure they arrived safely at Peeler's home in Globe. I asked him to have James call me. He apologized for not calling and I told him I was worried that maybe something had happened.

I left for my eye doctor appointment a little early so I could go by Walmart and buy James some shakes. He loves drinking them for breakfast and then taking one for lunch. I went right in, got a pack of Slimfast shakes and checked out. I was in the store less than five minutes and then hurried back to Barnett-Delaney-Perkins.

BDP was busy today and I sat in the waiting room for quite awhile. I had decided that I would wait one hour and if they didn't call me back I was going to leave. They called me back and I didn't have to leave. I am glad I didn't because my eyes needed some attention. I have dry eye and need to be using drops. Dr. Palmer gave me a coupon for $3 off a bottle of Refresh. I also have epi-retinal membrane and a fog on the implant lens from my cataract surgery. I scheduled an appointment with the surgery center for October 21st. When I got home I texted Jared about my conditions and he said none of them were anything to be too concerned about. That was a relief.

Before going home I go pick up some Panda Express for dinner. I tried their "better" orange chicken and I don't like it. I should have gotten the regular. I could only eat half of what I got for myself. James was hungry when he got home but he only ate half of his meal. I guess I need to go back to just ordering the bowls.

As I was going between the bedroom and the kitchen I glanced outside and saw a big herd of cows out by Luna's water. I'm sure they drank all of it out of both troughs. I put on my jacket, a scarf for my hair, and headed out on the Razr. There are about 20 cows in this herd. After I chase them away, they come back so I go out again and chase them down to the corner gate, open the gate, and even though the fence is down, most of them go through the open gate and walk away down the road. I think I have accomplished my goal. I'm in my bedroom and I hear a cow bellow. I look outside and there are three cows still out in the field. I have to go out again and it's almost dark. I try to drive these three cows to the open gate by our driveway but they have a mind of their own. First they head down the hill towards the corner gate where I let the other cows out and then they turn and start heading towards the forest. I drive them to the end of Elkins fence down a little ravine and yell, good riddance, and don't come back! They don't respond.

When I get back to the gate I have to go through and park the Razr James and Greg drive up. They missed the rodeo.

James had his shower and then his dinner while I continue to get some steps around the house. I have a painful flareup on the side of my right foot and I am only able to get a little over 10,000 steps.

Kacey had knee surgery today. She had a torn meniscus and worn cartilage. She said this about staying off of it:
I might have a hard time staying off of it had they not drilled holes in my bone to form scar tissue to grow in the cavities where cartilage is missing. I am not able to put any weight on it without excruciating pain. That makes it easy to not overdo it.

We will be praying for Kacey's speedy recovery. Jared is staying home with her the next few days and then Autumn will help.

James and I watched the end of "Marry Go Round." James really liked Amanda Schull.

Kim and Brian are not coming until tomorrow because Brian's Bronco was at the shop until this evening.

"A Framework for Personal Revelation"
Elder Dale G. Renlund
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
We need to understand the framework within which the Holy Ghost functions. When we operate within the framework, the Holy Ghost can unleash astonishing insight.

I slept in until almost 7. I guess my body is adjusting to the change of seasons. I hurried to get breakfast and do scriptures and prayers before leaving for the temple. Well I didn't actually leave until 9:30 but the morning went by very quickly. James did not go to Globe today so I left him home alone. He was busy doing something on the computer when I left.

Ruth has longer legs than Catherine so I thought she would do better in the front but the seat was pushed up and it looked like she was a little crowded. When we got to the temple I told the two of them to go ahead that I would be there soon. I wanted to get my recommend out before going to the recommend desk. I couldn't find it. I looked in my suitcase and when it wasn't there I said a prayer and looked in my wallet again. This time I found it stuck between two credit cards.
There were 22 sisters in our session and 12 brothers. These are the people from our ward who were in the session: Maxine and Gary T., Barbara and Fred K., Debra M., Catherine, Ruth, and me. Barbara B., was here at the temple also but she did sealings instead of a session. Our ward was well represented the first day the temple was open after being closed for over two weeks.

On the way home we stopped at Sonic. Catherine and Ruth both got American dogs and a drink. I got two Chicken Slingers, one for myself and one for James. It was Dutch treat today.

No rain yet but it looks like it's coming, which it does, after dark this evening and lots of it.

Ruth and my neighbor, Kathy are good friends. I asked Ruth how Kathy was doing and she said she seems to be back to her old self. They canned salsa last week and Kathy seemed to have lots of energy.

After dropping Ruth and Catherine off at Catherine's and saying our goodbyes I head to the post office to pick up the mail. The pants I ordered for James are here and the supplements I ordered arrived also. When I get home I give James his chicken slinger. He eats it and then goes in to take a nap. He says he just got back from Home Depot and it was very frustrating trying to hobble around the store. I guess it made him tired.

James indexed for awhile and then he said he needed to go over to the Peeler's to measure something for the house in Globe. I think it's the bar in the shower. Donna was home alone because Owen is spending the night in Globe because the carpet is being installed tomorrow. When James gets home he wants to know who Donna's ministering sisters are. Patsy T. and Chris B. He says she has an appointment at the doctor's tomorrow and will be driving in by herself. He's worried about her driving so I call and ask if I can take her. The only problem is her appointment is at 10:15 and I have an appointment at Barnett-Delaney-Perkins at 1:45. Donna assures me she will be fine so I agree and say goodbye.

The General Conference talks are now online! I am so happy! I start listening to the talks and running them off. We will have a meeting next week to decide what our lesson lineup will be for the next six months.

While I am working on my blog and walking James comes into the bedroom and says he wants to either read from our book our watch a movie. I turn on a movie I have seen and think he will like: "The Marry-Go-Round" starring Brennan Elliott and Amanda Schull.

This is the size house we need
