"In Awe Of Christ And His Gospel"
Elder Ulisses Soares
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
My beloved brothers and sisters, I pray that we will ever stand in awe of Jesus Christ and His complete, infinite, and perfect love. May the remembrance of what our eyes have seen and our hearts have felt increase our amazement at the Savior's atoning sacrifice, which can heal us of our spiritual and emotional wounds and help us to draw closer to Him. May we marvel at the great promises that the Father has in His hands and that He has prepared for those who are faithful.

I cancelled my appointment for my infusion yesterday. I felt like James needed to stay home and rest. He slept alot yesterday and again today. I am so glad we didn't go to the valley. We had to call his mother and tell her and Carmen too. I cancelled our appointments to go to the temple with Sheri and then with Stacy. He was scheduled to go to Globe tomorrow but Greg called today and said he couldn't go, which means James won't go either. He can't work by himself with a broken ankle.

I had James pick out cards for his mom and Dawn, we signed them and sent them today along with the bill for Central Arizona Supply.
Dawn's birthday is on the 30th and Lois's is October 2nd. Daisies for Dawn and the Harvest Bouquet for Lois. I dropped them off at the Vernon post office on my way in to Show Low. I got instructions and material for our next family card class from Rebecca in the mail today. On to town.

First stop was at Circle K for gas and to wash my car and then across the street to Walmart. After I finished my shopping I found a checkout with a cashier instead of the scan and go. I don't like to check out by myself when I have a big order. My cashier had pink hair, not to uncommon nowadays.

While I was waiting in line to checkout I placed an order on the Taco Bell app. I was hoping it would be ready when I got to Taco Bell, but it wasn't. The worst part is you can't pickup app orders in the drive-thru so I had to go inside. They asked me on the app to rate my experience so I told them.

I'm not used to bringing in my own groceries. James usually brings them in and I put them away. It took me longer than usual to get everything brought in and put away.

While I was gone James called Verizon and deactivated our wifi devices. We don't return them because we have paid for them. We should just toss them because they are now useless.

During rest time James and I watched an episode of McBride and James mentioned how nice this was. I said, "Yes, this is what retired people do."

I went downstairs and moved and inventoried some #10 cans. We have so much wheat that I really do need to start making bread.

James was upstairs trying to scan something when he asked me to come up to help him carry his computer back downstairs. While I was there I took the sheets off the beds Darrel's kids used and dropped them over the railing instead of carrying them downstairs so I could carry James's computer down.

James was not successful in trying to scan using the scanner upstairs. I helped him download HP Smart on his computer which is a scanning device. I was able to scan his document using our all-in-one printer but we couldn't find the scan on his computer. We will scan again tomorrow and pay more attention to where it goes.

I finished my book, "Angel Island" and also finished Season 7 of "Kids Baking Championship." The girl who has rheumatoid arthritis, Paige, won! I was hoping she would.

James slept on the recliner for the second night in a row. He says it helps him not to be so congested and also he doesn't move around as much as he does in bed which is better for his ankle.

"Conversion Is Our Goal"
Mark L. Pace
Sunday School General President
In ancient times, as the children of Israel followed the Lord's direction given through the prophet Moses, they were blessed with safety and freedom. Today, as we follow the Lord's direction given through our living prophet, President Nelson, we are equally blessed with conversion in our hearts and protection in our homes.

James did not wear his boot to bed last night and when he woke up this morning he complained about how much his foot hurt. I think he needs to wear the boot to bed.

I got James his pomegranate juice and muffin. After drinking and eating his breakfast he took his Tramadol and then he went back to sleep on the bedroom recliner.

This morning I watched "The Great British Baking Show." I think Maxy is my favorite baker. Her daisy macarons got her a handshake from Paul.

This evening I watched episode two of this seasons "Dancing with the Stars."

James got a call from a former wrestling buddy, Barry Brown. Barry is a big fan of James's. He went on and on about how James would be in a match and it would look like the other guy was going to win but James would never give up and would eventually come out on top. This certainly is indicative of James's personality. When he got off the phone James seemed to be in a better mood. I think Barry's call was good for him.

I texted Tamara today to let her know I had been asked to teach Young Women's on October 9th.  I told her Michelle T. had asked me and she told me she had spoken to Tamara first. Tamara said she misunderstood and she told Michelle that I needed to be in Relief Society that day. I apologized to Michelle but she was okay with it and very nice. She then asked if it would be all right of the older Young Women visit Relief Society on November 13th. I said I liked that idea and would ask the others in the presidency. Both Kerri and Tamara liked the idea.

Stacy, Kim, and Sheri all checked on James today. We appreciate their concern. Today I swept and mopped the kitchen-dining area, and both bathrooms. James thanked me for cleaning the guest bathroom because that's the one he uses during the day.

Bishop Hunsaker came over this evening to see James. He brought a piece of meat that was cooked for the ward campout. It was nice of him to come. He visited Chuck too.

I started a new book today called "Angel Island." It was written by an author named Dan Yates. The main character of the book lives on Clear Creek near Winslow, Arizona so I am assuming this author could be from Arizona.

James went to sleep early this evening so I took the opportunity to watch the entire DWTS episode. Theresa went home. It was between her and Cheryl Ladd. I think Lynn likes Cheryl because he saved her even though her dance was not as good as Theresa's. I just read an interview of Theresa and she said she knew she was going to go home because she felt like Lynn did not like her as well as he liked Cheryl.

"The Covenant Path: The Way To Eternal Life"
Elder Adeyinka A. Ojediran
Of the Seventy
I testify that covenant keepers are promised "peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come" (D&C 59:23). I bear witness that as you regularly partake of the Savior's emblems through the sacrament, you will have His Spirit to guide you on the covenant path and stay faithful to your covenants. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

"Valiant Discipleship In The Latter Days"
Elder Jorg Klebingat
Of the Seventy
"True disciples of Jesus Christ," President Nelson taught, "are willing to stand out, speak up, and be different from the people of the world. They are undaunted, devoted, and courageous."

James is not going to his meetings today. He is in too much pain. At first he told me to go and come directly home so I could take him to the ER. A little later he said he needed to go to the ER now. Instead of getting ready to go to church, I got ready to go to the ER, wearing a sweater and skirt as if I were going to church. We had to stop at the church. I gave the two talks for the RS lesson to Natalie Robles and gave Gary Thompson the new ministering assignments to hand out in Elder's quorum. I hurried in and out before sacrament meeting.

Thank goodness the ER at the Show Low Hospital was not busy this morning. Here is a picture of James waiting to be called back:

Looks normal except for the sock
and of course the walker

When we go back we aren't in the room very long when a paramedic with a mask on walks in. She says hello and I look up and see a pair of eyes that look like Trenda Wilhelm Ellsworth and at first I think it is Trenda. I soon see the tatoo on her arm and I realize that it is Alice, Trenda's sister whom I remember is studying to be a paramedic. It is great to see Alice, a former Young Woman of mine and someone James was a home teacher to. We had a nice visit with Alice, we both love her and her family. It was great to see her!

A X-ray is taken and Dr. Lesonbe comes in to tell James that is left ankle is broken on one side and is sprained on the other. He is to wear a boot and use crutches for about six weeks. This isn't good news for James who is trying to finish up the Peeler job and is getting ready to start the Glendale Airport job. We have a boot, and crutches at home. The nurse said they called in a prescription to CVS for Tramadol, so when we leave we head to CVS. Of course it is not ready but they say they can have it ready in 30 minutes. I don't believe them so we head for home. About 7 miles out of town James gets a text that his prescription is ready so I turn around and go back. 20, 50mg Tramadol pills doesn't seem like enough, but we will take what we can get.

I get lunch for James and myself, give James some Tramadol and he goes in to take a nap. I try to rest but sleep doesn't come so I try to work on my blog. When James gets up it's almost dinner time. We have shrimp, cottage cheese and pineapple for dinner. I also make some pumpkin cheesecake muffins that are delicious! James says, "I'm having one of these for breakfast."

We watched an Up movie this evening called, "Plus one at an Amish wedding." Such a cute movie and I feel it was appropriate for the Sabbath.
