Why do we have such a hard time walking in a straight line? Some researchers hypothesize that small, seemingly insignificant deviations in terrain make the difference. Others have pointed to the fact that we all have one leg that is slightly stronger than the other. "More likely," however, we struggle to walk straight ahead" because of increasing uncertainty about where straight ahead is."

I finished blogging for December 11th this morning. That's how far behind I am. The hurrier I go the behinder I get.

I started the meal for the MacArthur's this morning. I put the roast and gravy in the crockpot and started the rolls. James went into town to get the tires for the Razr mounted. He also checked the mail. My Sam's Club card came and so did a family picture Christmas card for Christina and Jon.

This evening we made these deliveries:
Dinner: Roast beef with gravy and mashed potatoes, rolls, green beans, salad and snickerdoodles to the MacArthur's. Chelsea texted me and said her five year old Peyton said it all: "Man, these people can cook."

Chicken noodle soup, rolls, and snickerdoodles to the Miller's. After the food was all delivered we started delivering calendars: The Wilhelm's, the Westbrook's, Peeler's, Snyder's, and Pierce. Pierce was outside talking to James who was in the driver's seat of the car. Pierce said, "I need to give Karen a hug." He walked around the car to my side and came over to give me a hug. As we drove off James said, "I better stick around or he will be courting you." I responded, "He is the only man I would ever consider marrying if you were leaving, which you are not!"

When we got home James cleaned the kitchen while I walked and watched a movie. I stopped the movie so James could walk and listen to "An Alleged Rogue." He would rather walk while listening to a book and when he watches a movie he wants to sit down and watch it.

Today's movies:
"Candy Cane Candidate" Jackie Lori and Jake Epstein
"The Holiday Fixup" with Jana Kramer & Ryan McPartlin
"Mistletoe in Montana" Melissa Joan Hart & Duane Henry
"Toying with the Holiday" Chand Michael Murray and Cindy Busby

I know from experience that answers will come to fit your needs and your spiritual preparation. If you need an answer that is important to your eternal welfare or that of others, the answer is more likely to come. Yet even then, you may receive, as did Joseph Smith, the answer to be patient.

"One Small Gift"

James had two doctors' appointment this morning at the cancer center. The first one was at 8:30. He wanted me to go with him to do my shopping. I wanted to go this afternoon. I ended up gong this morning and missed writing in my blog. I was grouchy.

I dropped James off at the cancer center and then I drove to Walmart. Last time he dropped me off and kept the car and I ended up waiting for him. Both doctors want James to take the shots to suppress his hormones. They say that is the best way to treat the cancer. It also keeps him from having any hormones and he's not sure he wants to take them.

The main reason I went shopping this morning was to buy dinner ingredients for the MacArthur's dinner tomorrow night and for the Miller's soup I promised to take them. I also bought some Christmas paper, tags, and ribbon. When I was finished shopping and waiting for James I got gas and then went to Wendy's to get some breakfast. They had a dollar breakfast last week but when I asked for it they said they didn't have it anymore.

After picking up James he says he needs to go back to Walmart to get some shakes and to see about filling his prescription. He didn't end up filling the prescription because the insurance wouldn't cover it and in order to use the card he has he needs to register it on line.

We get the car washed and drive back to Vernon. I stopped at the library and picked up a check from Tamara and gave her the calender I bought her for Christmas. She also gave me a calendar.

Once the groceries are put away I lie down to take a nap. I'm not feeling well. When I get up I walk and then wrap some calendars. Chuck brought us over some cinnamon bread and a card from him and Kathy. I'm sure Kathy made the bread. He also brought over a turkey from our ministering brother, Collin DeWitt.

"The Lord will take you to places you could never go on your own."
"Let your faith overcome your fear."
I sent these quotes to Addy today. She is worried about college and what is going to happen to her.

Christmas movies I watched while walking today:
"Tis the Season to Be Merry" Rachel Leigh Cook & Travis Van Winkle
"Joy for Christmas" Cindy Busby & Sam Page
"Christmas for Keeps"
"Toying with the Holidays" Cindy Busby & Chad Michael Murray
I must have walked really slow to have watched this many movies. I probably watched one during rest time too.

3 Nephi 11:32
And this is my doctrine, and it is the doctrine which the Father hath given unto me; and I bear record of the Father, and the Father beareth record of me, and the Holy Ghost beareth record of the Father and me; and I bear record that the Father commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent and believe in me.

"To Be A Follower Of Christ"
Elder Alfred Kyungu
Of the Seventy
The first quality of the Savior is humility. Jesus Christ was very humble from the premortal life. At the Council in Heaven, He recognized and allowed the will of God to prevail in the plan of salvation for mankind. He said, "Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever" (Moses 4:2)

"Hold Up Your Light"
Elder Marcus B. Nash
Of the Seventy
Your and I know that we lived as children of our Heavenly Father before coming to this earth and that the earth was created for the purpose of giving each person the opportunity to obtain a body, gain experience, learn, and grow in order to receive eternal life - which is God's life.

"Come Unto Christ and Don't Come Alone"
Sister Bonnie Cordon

Today we got the opportunity to listen to Jared give a talk in his ward. Kacey was kind enough to text us the Zoom connection. It was such a great talk! Jared sent me a copy. I think Sheri listened too. He talked about the Family Proclamation and the promises concerning keeping our covenants. These covenants and promises were especially meaningful to him after his divorce.

After listening to Jared's talk we got ready and drove over to Kim and Brian's ward which started at 10:30. We got there before Kim and Brian did and the bishop's wife, Kim Harris Tarwater, came over to speak to us. She said: "You are the Lambson's. I love your daughter." She talked to us until it was time for the meeting to start. She and her husband bought property in Vernon and will be moving up here eventually. They are friends with Dave and Tammy Montgomery. When Kim and Brian came in we went to the back and sat with them. Brian brought me in a cushioned chair from the Relief Society room.

Kim and Brian belong to the McQueen 1st ward. Today was the Christmas program. The Primary children sang "When We Seek Him." Someone named Danielle Hale who Kim says is a professional singer, sang "Jesus Lord at Thy Birth." The congregation then sang "O Little Town of Bethlehem." The next performance was a double quartet, 4 men and 4 women, singing "All for the King of Kings, I Wonder as I Wander." (Not sure what the title was). The last musical performance was a cello solo. This guy was very good and Kim says he plays in an orchestra. James enjoyed watching his facial expressions while he played.

Bishop Tarwater spoke at the end of the meeting. He told about growing up on a diary and how he developed faith in Jesus Christ through prayer. He went on a mission. He learned how to pray, and how to listen to the Spirit. He prayed to know if he should marry his wife. He proposed to her at the Mesa temple because it was a significant place for both of them. He shared how he felt about his family. He said, "Come unto Christ, but don't come alone." ( Sis. Cordon's conference talk).

The reason that we wanted to attend Kim's ward is because she is teaching gospel doctrine today. She did an excellent job! Here are some notes that I took:
"The family proclamation is the Lord's reemphasis of the gospel truths we need to sustain us through current challenges to the family." Dallin H. Oaks
The apostle James taught that friendship of the world is enmity with God. ((James 4:4). Those opposing the wisdom of the world: Paul (1 Cor. 3:19) and (Colo. 2:8).
President Monson: "We must reject anything that does not conform to our standards, Eternal Life in the kingdom of God."
President Nelson: "Salvation is an individual matter, but exaltation is a family matter."
We grow spiritually by choosing to obey God's commandments in a succession of right choices.
The gospel plan each family should follow to prepare for eternal life and exaltation is outlined in the Church's 1995 family proclamation.
We are different from the world. Here are where our differences are most evident.
World:
Cohabitation w/o marriage
Same sex marriage
We are all children of our Heavenly Father. We need to feel His love to remember that we all agreed to His plan in the premortal life.
God wants all of His children to be exalted.
His gospel is a gospel of Redemption.

When we got back to Darrel & Trina's Trina and the girls were all ready for church. Darrel is at work and Rowan is already at the church. I took a picture of the three girls. I wish I had included Trina so I tried to take one of her too.

Smart, kind, and beautiful.

James and I grabbed a bite to eat and then got ready to go home. We got all the way passed Payson and were starting up the rim when Trina called and said we left several things on the front porch. I remembered telling James I was putting my computer and a bag on the porch for him to get and he said he would, but evidently he forgot. My computer, a calendar, and the poster of Addy. James said we would get it when we come back next week but I insisted that I needed my computer. I'm already behind on my blog and I can't afford to go a week without making a post. Trina offered to come to Payson. We immediately turned around and started back towards Payson. We didn't want Trina to have to come all the way to Payson. We ended up meeting her in Sunflower, using mileposts to tell her when to get off the highway.

Trina was so kind to do this for us. When we remember Jared's talk, and Kim's lesson on this Sabbath day, we will also remember Trina's willingness to serve us. Thank you Trina.

As soon as we got home James went out immediately to feed Luna. He came back in and said Luna had been in the back yard. Where there is a will, there is a way, and she definitely has the will.

After putting everything away I sat down to watch, "When Hope Calls" the Christmas special. I loved it and loved seeing Lori Loughlin. Abigail Stanton was always my favorite character on "When Calls the Heart."

Happy Birthday Michael!
