As with all gifts the Father so willingly offers, seeing deeply requires us to ask Him - and then act. Ask to see others as He does - as His true sons and daughters with infinite and divine potential. Then act by loving, serving, and affirming their worth and potential as prompted. As this becomes the pattern of our lives, we will find ourselves becoming "true followers of . . . Jesus Christ."
Others will be able to trust our hearts with theirs. And in this pattern we will also discover our own true identity and purpose.

Restoration Proclamation
P5 S4
As a companion scripture to the Bible, the Book of Mormon testifies that all human beings are sons and daughters of a loving Father in Heaven, that He has a divine plan for our lives, and that His Son, Jesus Christ, speaks today as well as in days of old.

I have a bad pain this morning in my sciatic nerve. I took tramadol and food at 4 a.m. It was still hurting when I started to blog at 6 a.m.
Between four and six I slept and then sat on my heating pad and listened to an article from the Ensign. I like this statement from the article I read in the Ensign:
Forgiveness is not earned, it is only received as a gift from the Savior.

We are still praying that our friend Tom will be able to get off the ventilator the hospital has him on and come home. His vital signs are strong but he refuses to wear an oxygen mask so that's why he is on the ventilator.

As James was getting ready to go to the valley I was sitting at my computer in the bedroom working on my blog. I had my day all planned out. This afternoon I was going grocery shopping. As I thought about going to the Show Low Walmart I got a funny feeling in my stomach. I thought about all of the nice grocery stores in the Chandler/Gilbert area and made the decision to go with James. He told me he would make sure I got to go grocery shopping. It took me about 15 minutes to get ready to go. Such a simple thing made James so happy! We left in the truck around 7:30 a.m. pulling the trailer with the Cat on it. We stopped at the Burger King in Show Low for our croissant breakfast sandwiches. James got ham and I got bacon.

Of course if it's James's choice which way we go we are going to go through Salt River Canyon and Globe. We listened to Brother Halverson and when we got to the canyon I took a little nap.

The gas in Show Low is around $2.43 a gallon. In Globe it was $2.19, so we filled up. When we got to the valley we went straight to Konkle's on Mai Lane off Ocotillo and 156th street, which is right next to Perry High School. This is the high school that Sheri wanted Evan to go to but Joshua insists on going to Chandler so I guess that's where they are both going.

James parked the truck in the back of the house and unloaded the Cat and unhitched the trailer from the truck. It's lunch time so we headed to Olive Garden since we still have lots of Olive Garden gift cards.
This time we went to the one on Gilbert and Germann and they had James's chicken marsala, which he ordered. I got the same thing I did the other day with Sheri, soup, salad and breadsticks with the chicken gnocchi soup. I also ordered one of their mini desserts, strawberries, whipped cream and white cake. Very tiny but just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth.

James had a meeting with Armando back at the job. He dropped me off at the Fry's on Gilbert and Ocotillo before meeting Armando. Oh how I love shopping at a nice store with a full produce department!
I have three main meal recipes to fix this week and that is what I focused on. I also have two salads I am fixing. Funny how I shopped for the perishable food first and then forgot some of my non-food items.

James arrived before I was finished and began checking out while I went to grab a couple of more items. He went through the self-checkout but one of the clerk's must have been bored because she came over and started checking and bagging for him. I needed to use the restroom which was clear down on the other side of the store by Starbuck's. (Is Starbuck's in every grocery store?) I was not even tempted to buy a pink drink because I knew I was going to ask James to take me to Swig's to get one and theirs don't have caffeine.

When we were loading the groceries in the truck I realized I didn't have my phone. James called it and the information came up on his truck's bluetooth, but still no phone. I realized I had been carrying it in the back pocket of my pants and I may have lost it in the bathroom stall. I hurried back into the store, this time I forgot my mask so I put my hand over my mouth. Luckily I didn't get caught and sure enough, there on the floor in the bathroom stall was my phone. What a relief!

I guided James to Swig's drive-thru on Market Street. I was tempted to buy one of their delicious sugar cookies, but I figured the drink was enough. It was strawberry and coconut, cost $3.39 for a large and we should have got two because James loved it as much as I did.

Since we were closer to Highway 60 than the 202 I told James we could go home through Globe even though he had said we would go through Payson. Today in the valley it was around 80 degrees. I guess it was around 60 at home although it did rain some. It's always nice to be home and of course Luna was waiting to be fed. That's the first thing James did.

I walked and watched a movie while James indexed before going to bed.  Oh, I forgot one thing, Becca and Tim had a baby girl today. They named her Alice. When James called to congratulate Gail he said it was his 21st grandchild. We have 22 and 1 great so he's getting close.

Christlike attributes are gifts from a loving Heavenly Father to bless us and those around us. Accordingly, our efforts to obtain these attributes will require heartfelt pleas for His divine assistance. If we seek these gifts to better serve others, He will bless us in our efforts. Selfishly pursuing a gift from God will end in disappointment and frustration.
By focusing deeply on one needed attribute, as you progress in obtaining that attribute, other attributes begin to accrue to you. Can someone who is focusing deeply on charity not increase in love and humility? Can someone who is focusing on obedience not gain greater diligence and hope? Your significant efforts to gain one attribute become the tide that raises all boats in the harbor.

Restoration Proclamation
P5 S3
It teaches of life's purpose and explains the doctrine of Christ, which is central to that purpose.

It is going to be 52 degrees today. That ought to melt some snow. Then, instead of snow, we will have mud.

I got up at six and was slow to get going. James is preparing to go to the valley tomorrow, taking down some equipment for the Konkle job. He has to get the Cat started and get the trailer down off the hill without getting stuck.

We heard that the Howard's have a broken water line so they had to turn their water off. Jerry Scott has been hauling water to them in 3-5 gallon containers. Why does this happen when they have a house full of company and with Tom in the hospital? I guess their son-in-law Jimmy is there and he can fix it.

It was after 3 this afternoon when James went to town to pick up the Razr because I read several chapters from "Rocky Road." I was going to go with him and go grocery shopping but I just wasn't feeling up to it. James said I should be able to take the car tomorrow without getting stuck so that's what I am planning on doing.

Kerri brought by Relief Society birthday cards for me to sign and then after I signed them she took them to Maxine. She didn't come inside because of my exposure to Jean H. who supposedly has Covid.

This evening I walked, blogged and indexed. I now have 615 indexed names for February.

President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
I pray that we as a people are using this unique time to grow spiritually. We are here on earth to be tested, to see if we will choose to follow Jesus Christ, to repent regularly, to learn, and to progress. Our spirits long to progress. And we do that best by staying firmly on the covenant path.

'We Will Prove Them Herewith'
Elder David A. Bednar
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Some Church members opine that emergency plans and supplies, food storage, and 72-hour kits must not be important anymore because the Brethren have not spoken recently and extensively about these and related topics in general conference. But repeated admonitions to prepare have been proclaimed by leaders of the Church for decades. The consistency of prophetic counsel over time creates a powerful concert of clarity and a warning volume far louder than solo performances can ever produce.
Just as challenging times reveal inadequacies in temporal preparedness, so too the maladies of spiritual casualness and complacency inflict their most detrimental effects during difficult trials. We learn, for example, in the parable of the ten virgins that procrastinating preparation leads to unsuccessful proving. Recall how the five foolish virgins failed to prepare appropriately for the examination given to them on the day of the bridegroom's coming.

I blogged, indexed, and walked today. My total indexing for February so far is 495 names. The ones I did yesterday counted for February instead of January.

We watched no TV today but I read a lot from "Rocky Road."

James worked inside on plans and indexing. He is starting the Konkle job this week and will be taking equipment down on Wednesday. I paid our line of credit, Verizon and tithing and fast offerings. I also ran off 15 pages of patient forms for my appointment at Sonoran Spine next Monday. Now I just have to fill them all out.

For "Come Follow Me" I listened to Brother Halverson. We were going to have our group meeting here tonight but everyone else cancelled. Brother Peeler told James we would have it next week. James forgot that we will be in the valley next Monday. Maybe we can have it Sunday afternoon.

Tom Howard tested positive for Covid and the word is so did Jean. I gave Jean a big hug on Saturday.

Trina was a little upset that this guy made money so
easily when she and Darrel have to work so hard for theirs.
