Because He has experienced all our pains, afflictions, and infirmities, He knows how to help us rise above our daily difficulties.

The earth will never again be the same, as God will "gather together in one all things in Christ" (Ephesians 1:10).

Well today is the worst pain I've had so far since I was struck with this malady. I cannot walk without pain and I ask James to please go downstairs and get the walker. 

After scripture and prayer with James I make a grocery list for him and he goes into town to get the weekly groceries. He only called one or two times. Now he knows why it takes me three hours to drive, shop, and drive home. He did stop and get me a taco and a burrito supreme from Taco Bell.

James had planned on inviting Anthony and the missionaries over for biscuits and gravy tomorrow but if I am not better he will probably cancel.

I did absolutely nothing today that required any movement. I did read scriptures, study the "Come Follow Me" lesson and listen to a couple of conference talks. No indexing, blog, or walking. I was just too miserable. 

I watched "Christmas List" this evening again, the third time this year, starring Alicia Witt and Gabriel Hogan.

Sometimes the changes we need to make are associated with serious sin. But most often, we strive to refine our character to align ourselves with the attributes of Jesus Christ. Our daily choices will either help or hinder our progress. Small but steady, deliberate changes will help us improve. Do not become discouraged. Change is a lifelong process. I am grateful that in our struggles to change, the Lord is patient with us.

We gladly declare that the promised Restoration goes forward through continuing revelation.

I slept on the recliner again last night as I have for quite some time now. I get up in the morning to eat and take my meds and then I lie back down. 

I listen to conference talks, pray, read from the Book of Mormon and "Come Follow Me" with James. If it wasn't for the gospel I probably wouldn't accomplish anything positive when I feel like this. As my tramadol started to work I got up and James followed me in to the bathroom where he cut my hair. After the haircut I took a shower.

 James has a paper he needs notarized for the Quintans's regarding some land in Deming that they bought from us. There is no way around it, we tried to think of one, I have to go with him. Thank goodness our friend Tamara at the Vernon library is a notary. After getting the warranty deed notarized we went to the post office to mail it. We also mailed Anna's birthday card and her Barnes & Noble gift card. 

Today is Anthony's birthday and Tildy Grapp's birthday. Tildy is nine, I'm not sure how old Anthony is but he is a little younger than we are. I have a gift bag for Tildy and we dropped it off. Their gate was locked but Liana and Benson were outside and came to the gate and picked up the bag for us. I am sorry I did not feel like going in to visit.

I talked James in to going in to Show Low for lunch and read to him from "Baked Alaskan" on the way. First we went to Taco Bell for a taco and a burrito. We ate our lunch out in the parking lot. Then it was on to Circle K for gas and a drink. On the way back in to town we stopped at McDonald's for an ice cream cone. What used to be 79 cents, plus tax, is no $1.59. Inflation is alive and well.

Back at home this afternoon I walked, blogged and indexed. I checked my Chase app to see if Mario's check was still deposited but it was not. They returned it and charged us $12.00.

I'm thinking this family of 4 might have too many clothes.

There is a thing that sometimes happens that is hard to achieve and hard to define. It's called "swing." It happens only when all are towing in such perfect unison that not a single action is out of sync. Rowers must rein in their fierce independence and at the same time hold true to their individual capabilities. Races are not won by clones. Good crews are good blends - someone to lead the charge, someone to hold something in reserve, someone to fight the fight, someone to make peace. No rower is more valuable than another, all are assets to the boat, but if they are to row well together, each must adjust to the needs and capabilities of the others-the shorter-armed person reaching a little farther, the longer-armed person pulling in just a bit.

Differences can be turned to advantage instead of disadvantage. Only then will it feel as if the boat is moving on its own. Only then does pain entirely give way to exultation. Good "swing" feels like poetry.

Against towering obstacles, this team found perfect swing and won. The Olympic gold was exhilarating, but the unity each rower experienced that day was a holy moment that stayed with them all their lives.

Millions throughout the world have embraced a knowledge of these prophesied events.

I am so miserable today. I finally got up from a prone position around noon and make snickerdoodle cookies for the missionaries who are coming to help on the fence. After making cookies I was going to go shopping but my leg and sciatic nerve was bothering me too much. It's hard to make plans when I never know how I am going to feel.

Four elders came to help James on the fence. They liked the cookies.

When James came in this evening he made venison gravy. I baked the biscuits. It was so delicious and I am afraid I had more than I should have. I wonder when my new diet is going to start. Maybe when I start feeling better and don't require comfort food.

Think of Joseph Smith the Prophet while imprisoned in LIberty Jail, how he pled for relief for the suffering Saints. He must have wondered how Zion could be established in those circumstances. But the Lord spoke peace to him, and the glorious revelation that followed brought peace to the Saints - and it continues to bring peace to you and me.

Two hundred years have now elapsed since this Restoration was initiated by God the Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

I indexed some Massachusetts marriage records today and then I paid some bills. I rested on my rear most of the day. I watched Hallmark's "Bridal Wave" where Jaclyn Smith is the snobby, grumpy mother of the groom. 

I paid Owen's Energy, our propane bill, Dishnetwork, and tithing. The check of Mario Chacon's that James accidentally signed looks like it went through the bank but we won't know for sure for a few more days.

My indexing total was 15 for today. I figure if I do 15 records a day I will meet the 309 monthly quota. I did two blog posts and walked 12,000 steps. I'm on course. 

I got my purple Book of Mormon today. It's cute but not sure it's worth $50.

James went to town but he didn't get me tacos. He felt bad and told me I should have asked. I guess I should have.

Jean is in the hospital today. They won't let Tom in so he is waiting outside. She called and said she is worried that they are doing surgery on Tom. I tried to calm her down and told her that we should both say a prayer. That seemed to help. Jean has high blood pressure and they are trying to get it to come down. Tom is worried because she is not eating. When they got home he said he finally got her to eat some fruit. After talking to Jean on the phone she told me that she felt better just hearing my voice.

I listened to two "Come Follow Me" podcasts today, Jared Halverson on "Unshaken", and "Don't Miss This."
