Restoration Proclamation
P5 S4
As a companion scripture to the Bible, the Book of Mormon testifies that all human beings are sons and daughters of a loving Father in Heaven, that He has a divine plan for our lives and that His Son, Jesus Christ, speaks today as well as in day of old.

I had an appointment this morning with Brother Goodman who is a dentist. He is going to fix my chipped tooth. I arrived at 8 a.m. Pierce got right to work. He discovered that I have four cavities on the two front teeth. Wow! How did that happen? I thought, man, this is going to take forever! It didn't. He was done in an hour and he said, "You are a new woman." I looked at my tooth and agreed.
I told Pierce that I brought cash and he refused to take it. He said he would do a trade with James. What did we ever do before we had this great man in our lives. We love and appreciate the Goodman's so much because they are so loving and giving!

James was still in his pajamas when I got home, which is actually a good thing. He was trying to scan our 2019 tax return, yes we are late! He needed me and I was glad to help him. I sat down and watched "Dancing with the Stars" from last night. I'm not sure who was my favorite couple. This was 80's night and everyone looked a little ridiculous. James will not watch DWTS.

I made both James and I a Kodiak cake. They are pancakes with lots of protein made with whole grain and are quite delicious. I was surprised that James liked them as well as I did.

The swelling in James's knee goes down when he stays off it. He really tried to be good today. He spent a lot of time on the recliner in the family room. We watched quite a bit of TV this evening, something we don't normally do. First we watched the last half of Brother Halverson's "Come Follow Me" lesson. It did not disappoint. We also watched two Hallmark movies. One was called "Follow Your Heart" about a girl going back to her Amish background, and the other was a western that I had already seen, "The JL Family Ranch." This last one had quite a few Hollywood names starring in it: Jon Voight, Bo Derek, and James Caan. We loved both of these movies.

James was encouraged with how his knee looked when we went to bed. I'm wondering if he will be this good about staying off of it tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Kevin!

It teaches of life's purpose and explains the doctrine of Christ, which is central to that purpose.

One of the first books I bought when I first began selling books was a book called, "Noddy Bedtime Stories." It was published in England. I actually had two copies and I just sold the last one, merchant fulfilled. I probably didn't make any/much money but I sold it! If you didn't see the word Noddy, you might think it was naughty, but this is a children's book!

I am in the process of getting a book shipment ready. I keep my boxes outside in the garage, folded up. I went out and got a box out and opened it up. There was a bad odor and as I looked into the box I saw a squished mouse smashed on the side. I freaked out and yelled for James. He "took care of the mouse" and washed the side of the box and wanted me to use it. I looked inside and it stilled smelled bad. I couldn't use it. I had to get another box. I left the box in the garage to "air out."

James and I are enjoying our book, "Devil's Food Cake, A Culinary Mystery." It's one thing we do together that we really look forward to.

James went to see Dr. Moffat today. The doctor asked him how many steps he takes in a day. James told him between 10,000 - 12,000. Dr. Moffat said, "I want you to take less that 1,000 steps a day. Lay down, elevate your knee and put heat on it. Heat will help to heal. Do not use ice. I'm not looking forward to trying to keep James at 1,000 steps a day.

This evening we went to the Goodman's for "Come Follow Me." It was us, the Peeler's, and the Goodman's. The Crane's did not come because Chuck had a procedure done on his big toe today and was not feeling well. They really missed out. Instead of using the manual and reading the lesson we watched a YouTube video. Let me back up just a minute. When I walked in Brother Peeler seemed very happy to see me. He said I was one of the best Book of Mormon scholars he knew. (I was flattered, but did not feel worthy).

Sister Goodman discovered a new source of a "Come Follow Me" supplement. She asked us if we had ever heard of Brother Jared Halverson. None of us had. She said he was the best she had ever heard and very thorough, discussing every verse. This caught our interest and we all wanted to watch the video. She warned us that it was two parts, each about 1 hour and 45 minutes. We said we wanted to give it a try. We enjoyed it so much we watched the entire first part, which was a little less than two hours. James said he felt like a spiritual pygmy after listening to Brother Halverson. We were both excited to watch the next part of the lesson though. Barbara and Pierce served us apple or cherry turnovers they bought at Sam's Club. It was such an enjoyable evening and we are so excited about learning more from Brother Halverson.

I hope I can still listen to this

P5 S2
Pages of this sacred text include an account of the personal ministry of Jesus Christ among people in the Western Hemisphere soon after His Resurrection.

I worked on my Sunday journal this morning before sacrament meeting. Stacy and Joshua did not go to church with us because they both forgot to bring their Sunday clothes. They stayed home and watched a conference talk.

Judy Hunter was the speaker in our meeting today and today is her birthday. She said she was asked back in March to speak but then the meetings were shut down and she thought she would get out of speaking but Brother Goodman reminded her that he had asked her to speak. She spoke about the importance of the "Come Follow Me" program.

It seems funny sitting every other row, seeing people wearing masks, (I didn't wear one), and not singing. Also there was a closing prayer after Judy's talk and then we had the sacrament. I guess they do it that way so they can Zoom record everything except the sacrament.

I spoke with Sister Halcomb and Anne Miller after the meeting. Anne said they are still trying to sell their house. The do not want to rent it. Someone looked at it yesterday and she had her fingers crossed. They may not move until December. It will be nice to have them here a little longer. Their daughter Andyn is one of my most favorite people in the entire ward.

When we got home from church James took a nap and I worked on my blog. A little later we went to town to pick up prescriptions for him. His x-ray came back clean which means the infection did not get into the bone.

Stacy wanted biscuits and gravy so that's how we broke our fast. The steak I bought was a chuck steak and it was extremely tough but the taste of the gravy was delicious. Joshua decided he wanted to go home today so after we ate and Stacy worked on her (my) jigsaw puzzle for a while they got ready to go. Stacy's car wouldn't start so James used my jumper cable to help her get going. He also gave her some gas so she wouldn't have to stop. She made it as far as Ray and McQueen before she ran out of gas. I guess when her car says she has 20 miles left, she really doesn't have any. Paul came to her rescue.

We FaceTimed with Jared, Kacey and Charlie today. Of course the first thing Charlie wanted to do was see Luna so James took my phone outside. Jared mentioned that Charlie is potty trained and was ready to go to Disneyland. I told him we would give her a little more time and besides, Disneyland is not open right now. We are proud of Charlie for being potty trained though.

We had our Zoom family meeting with Jared, Kacey, and Kim and Brian. I guess Stacy and Sheri are not too interested in joining with us. We decided that some of the themes for conference were: Unity, Preparedness, and overcoming trials. I gave a brief report on Elder Christopher's talk, "Sustainable Societies."

James and I watched a Hallmark movie this evening, "Follow Your Heart". This one was about a girl who left her Amish community and then 10 years later came back when her father died and falls in love with her old boyfriend. We liked it.

I started out feeling this way today but after attending
Sacrament meeting I felt better.

In the other pictures I took Stacy had her eyes closed.
In this one Joshua does. Oh well.

I love the Sunday photos of
Charlie and Scarlett!

Restoration Proclamation
Paragraph 5 Sentence 1
We further witness that Joseph Smith was given the gift and power of God to translate an ancient record: the Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Luna is out of the field for the first time in over a week. She was at the front porch this morning. I've actually missed her doing that but now I am worried about her wandering off. I guess some elk knocked the fence down last night. James says there were tracks all over.

Stacy and I planned on going in to town today. She needed to do some shopping at Safeway. She wants James to make biscuits and gravy tomorrow so we got some steak and biscuits. Joshua went with us in James's truck. He wanted me to go by Horne Auto and pick up a wheel lock key for his tires. They didn't have one so he has to schedule an appointment with their service department to get the lock taken off the tires. It was a little difficult for me to get in and out of the truck. I took a stool with me but was finally able to do it by pulling up on the steering wheel.

We went through Culver's to get some lunch. Joshua wanted a hamburger ketchup only and an order of fries. Stacy and I both wanted pot roast sandwiches with au jus. First the girl said they didn't have any of "that." Stacy told her it was the juice from the meat and could she please just put it in a little container. When we got to the window to pay the girl read our order and said the hamburger was a double. We said we didn't order a double. She said, well it comes as a double unless you tell us otherwise. We asked her if she would please change it to a single. She did and we saved two dollars. Stacy asked for a larger half diet half regular Pepsi. When we got our order Stacy checked it. First, they gave her a medium drink with just regular Pepsi and they forgot Joshua's fries. Going through a drive-thru can be stressful!

Back at home I shared my sandwich with James before we started our fast.

This afternoon Stacy did my lashes. She removed the old and put in new. I layed on the bed while she did it. It is so hard for me to lie on my back for any amount of time. Maybe if she had a dentist chair I could do it. But lying flat is so hard. We didn't quite finish but Stacy said she would put in more on Monday. We rewarded ourselves by going on a Razr ride with Joshua.

I need to go on Razr rides more often because when I do I realize that this is one of the things I enjoy most about living here. Stacy has good eyes. She saw a deer that was standing still and looking at us. It started to get dark and cold before we got home. We also heard elk this evening, and Stacy was excited to see a squirrel and a rabbit. She also saw an elk when she came in last night.

Last week James had on a pair of pants with a hole in the knee. He was kneeling down on the rocks outside and got a cut just below his right knee. It looks like it is infected. Stacy and I both asked him several times today to either go to Urgent Care of to the emergency room at the hospital. He called Dr. Moffat to see if he would call him in a prescription. Dr. Moffat said he could not do that without seeing him. He also called Dr. Goodman (our dentist friend) for a prescription. He gave him keflex but that was not until this evening. His leg looks worse. Stacy and I finally talked him in to going to the hospital. I called a head and the girl I spoke with said there was no wait. James has got to be a little worried to even consider going in. Although there was no wait he was gone about four hours. They put him on an IV and took an X-ray. One of the doctors said he could have mersa because it is found in the soil in this area.

While James was gone Stacy and I watched one of her shows. It is a mystery show filmed in Australia and is called Dr. Blake. I liked it and asked Stacy to save it so James could watch it. Stacy is doing the puzzle that Dave and Laura got me for my birthday.

It was after 11 when I went to bed. James got home around 12:30.
