"Finding Refuge from the Storms of Life"
Elder Ricardo P. Gimenez
I know that we are all children of God, that He loves us, and that we are not alone. I invite you to come and see that He can lighten your burdens and be the refuge you are seeking. Come and help others find the refuge that they so year for. Come and stay with us in this refuge, which will help you resist the storms of life. There is no doubt in my heart that if you come, you will see, you will help, and you will stay.

The first thing James did this morning when he got up was bugle for elk. He got three or four elk answer him. This is his favorite time of year.

When it was time for Luna's breakfast she was outside by the front steps waiting for James to come out. She gets out of the fenced area by walking up the hill and going around where James stopped the fence.

Waiting for James to come out and
feed her breakfast.

James made a trip in to town to look at counter tops at Home Depot. He also went to Walmart where he got a garbage can with wheels at my request. He also stopped at the post office and picked up our mail. The last time we picked up mail was a week ago on Wednesday.

Mail for the last week.

James and I finished our first Josi S. Kilpack book in the Culinary Mystery series, "Lemon Tart." I like the cover.

The next book in the series is called, "English Trifle."

I had a presidency meeting at the church this evening. The first one we have had in months. I went early so I could go by the Grapp's to give Liana her birthday card and cash. I parked my car outside the fence and walked up to the house. There was a big black spider on the front porch that freaked me out. When Tildy opened the front door I pointed out the spider to her. She didn't even flinch. She knew it was there and acted like it was normal. Creepy.

I could tell I came at dinner time so I didn't want to stay long. Leland stood by me and was looking up to see if I had anything for him. I asked him if he would take Liana her card. He took it and ran across the room and gave it to Liana. He is the cutest little two year old boy!

Liana gave me and hug and thanked me and then showed me her English riding pants which was what she asked for for her birthday.

Not what I thought English riding pants looked like. I guess I am too old-fashioned.

On to my meeting. Kerri and I were the first ones to arrive. The bishopric also had a meeting as well as the Young Women's presidency and the Primary presidency.

When Maxine and Tamara arrived we went to the Relief Society room and sat around the table. We talked about ministering, sewing medical masks as part of a stake service project, and the new people in our ward. I went home with 10 masks to sew and new people to call to let them know about sacrament meeting this Sunday. I also need to make all of my ministering calls before the end of the month.

James went riding tonight. When he started Luna loping she started bucking trying to throw him off. She bites on the bit so James can't pull back on the reins to stop her. He has to pull her head around to get her to stop. She did it twice. James thought about what would happen if he fell off with his brittle bones and although he was having fun, he made her stop. I told him this probably happned because she had not been ridden for so long.

Kerri told us in our meeting tonight that during the entire pandemic she and her mom had only taken the sacrament one time. That is so sad.
Also, the Miller's are moving and renting their house here. The Reynolds may rent from them.

I got my new silk pillow case and used it tonight. I also sleep with my glasses on to protect my eye lashes.

What's for dinner

Compared the first five books of the Old Testament with the first five books of the New Testament. Very interesting!!

"The Blessing of Continuing Revelation to Prophets and Personal Revelation to Guide Our Lives"
Elder Quentin L. Cook
Personal revelation is based on spiritual truths received from the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the revealer and testifier of all truth, especially that of the Savior. Without the Holy Ghost, we could not really know that Jesus is the Christ. His seminal role is to bear witness of the Father and the Son and Their titles and Their glory.

I got up early so I could see Addy and Rowan before they left for school. Addy had the devotional at seminary today and she looked extra nice with her hair down and curled and a cute outfit on. Rowan just had a regular day but he gave me a hug before he left.

Today is the first day of Fall. At Lola's school it was Crazy Hair day. This is what Lola looked like when she went to school:

This was so fun for her!

On my way to my infusion I dropped off doorknobs to James at Mario's. He forgot them this morning. The first thing I did when I got to AARA was to have a chest x-ray. It was quick and then I was directed right back to the infusion center. Tiffany weighed me and Ang got my infusion started. I was there for an hour and watched Kelly and Ryan on TV. Before leaving I showed Ang James's truck burning. She called Frances and Tiffany to come over and see. They were all pretty amazed. I'm not sure what the other patients in the room thought as they saw Tiffany and Frances's reactions to something they themselves couldn't see.

I touched base with James before going across the street to Costco. He was still working. Costco sent me a rewards check in the amount of $104.88, otherwise I would probably not be shopping here. One of the first things I wanted to buy was the orange chicken that Trina had. I thought it was better than any I have ever had, restaurants included.

I also got the chicken and veggies wontons that Trina had, fried rice, noodles with veggies, tortellini, tomato-basil soup, two jars of three bean salad and some dark chocolate almond snacks with pumpkin, sunflower, and chia seeds.

I bought a dog and drink for $1.50 and then ate lunch in the car with only ketchup and mustard on my hot dog because they no longer have relish, onions, or sauerkraut. Covid affects everything!

James said he was going to Home Depot and then he would meet me at Darrel's. When I got to Darrel's he and Trina were both there trying to do something on the computer for ShopWhirlygirl. Darrel helped me load the car and Trina was going over to dad's to help her with her computer tags because he is a computer expert. Darrel was waiting for James to bring back his truck so he could got look at guns for Rowan at Bass Pro Shop. I told Darrel we left some food and they should eat it while we are gone. I especially want Ruby to eat my Noosa yogurt with blueberries. The best!

I reminded James that we had a deal. If we came down the Salt River way we would go home through Payson. He didn't grumble too much. Chuck and Anya, his dog were at our place looking for Luna. She was not around so James took off on the Razr to find her. She started snorting and dancing around when she saw James. She really does love him!

We brought everything in from the car and put most of it away. I also did some walking. It is so good to be home!

Trina always wants to know when we get home. Here is what we said to each other in our texts:
Me: We made it home. Hos is Ruby doing? Luna is gone so James went out looking for her.
Trina: Ruby is ok, eating soft foods and playing with friends. Thanks for asking! Oh no about Luna! That's so sad. Keep us posted!
Me: James found her. She is ok.
Trina: Oh good! Where was she?
Me: She came back and was in the front yard. She got excited and danced around when she saw James. Thanks again for everything Trina!
Trina: "Oh really? That is so cute. Thank you again Karen, you did us a huge favor."
Me: It was a pleasure. Your kids are the best!
Trina: You are the best.
Me: Thanks Trina. I appreciate you so much.
Trina: You too.

Love the light!

Finishing touches to crazy hair
