"Hosanna and Hallelujah - The Living Jesus Christ: The Heart of Restoration and Easter"
Elder Gerrit W. Gong
With you, at this Easter season, I testify of God, our Eternal Father, and His Beloved Son, the living Jesus Christ. Mortal men were cruelly crucified and later resurrected. But only the living Jesus Christ in His perfect resurrected form still bears the marks of crucifixion in HIs hands, feet, and side. Only He can say, "I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands." Only He can say: "I am he who was lifted up. I am Jesus that was crucified. I am the Son of God."

James got us insurance for Nisa Ro (Nissan Rogue). He is taking her to the valley tomorrow. The insurance will be cheaper than it was for the Lexus which doesn't really make sense to me but James said that Lexy was a luxury vehicle and the parts were more expensive.

Stacy said she got really sick last night not because of what she ate but because she ate too much. Shipley is not feeling well either. We aren't sure if she did something to her leg or it is internal. Shipley has become my little buddy. She loves me, follows me, and when I sit down she sits by me and loves me to pet her. Paul gave her half an aspirin several times today so she felt a little better.

James went to help the Deatherage's with their final moving. They will be out today. Tamara and Kerri were there too. I couldn't go because I had committed to Stacy that she could do my lashes and I was not sure when that would be.

Stacy felt well enough this afternoon to go on another Razr ride with Paul and Joshua. They left the dogs here and they followed me around the table as I walked.

I repriced books today and one of the books I repriced was $136 and I repriced to $130. It sold today and I made $39!

Paul and Joshua went into town to Pizza Factory for dinner. They brought back pizza for Stacy. Stacy and I were doing my lashes. I was laying on our bed with my head at the foot of the bed in Stacy's pillow. She was sitting on the bench at the end of our bed and we brought over my table lamp. The first thing she has to do is tape belong my eyes. This is annoying.  Stacy said normally this takes about 3 hours and the person has to lay very still on their back. I am not good at laying still, especially on my back. My eyes are taped and I am supposed to keep them closed but I had to use the restroom. Stacy was a little "put out." She said she wasn't going to put on the lashes as thick as she normally would. She wants me to get used to them and she doesn't think I can last 3 hours. She was right. I last 1 1/2 hours. The lashes look good, James likes them! I have to do maintenance and she has to look at them again when I come down to the valley on the 17th.

I had a piece of the pizza Paul brought home for my dinner. I made James some baked squash with onions, olive oil, Prego sauce and parmesan cheese. He loved it. He made me a brownie in a cup in return.

This evening Stacy and Paul watched "Back to the Future" while Stacy worked on a puzzle. Joshua was upstairs playing online video games and talking to his online friends. I tease him and call them his "imaginary friends." I walked around the high table and James was at the dining room table working on finalizing our taxes. His computer is so messed up and I have to keep stopping and going over to help him. I also read Elder Gong's conference talk this evening. James went to bed around 9:30. He is getting up at 4 to go to the valley. I took a shower and then I was ready for bed.

Review Helaman 13-16 with Stacy, Paul, Joshua, and James
Lambson Study Group
Saturday Afternoon Session
April 2020 General Conference

I was running some things off for our "Come Follow Me" lesson only to find out that the color is not working on our printer. It took me about two hours to finally fix it. I went to hp technical assistance online and the virtual bot told me to uninstall and reinstall the printer, which I did. Finally color!

"Drawn In" with David Bowman was only 15 minutes long today. I was going to use it for part of the lesson but didn't end up doing so.
We started our Sunday meetings at 10:30 as we normally do. For the opening song we sang, "Lead Kindly Light." Stacy said the opening prayer and then we had the sacrament song, "Jesus Once of Humble Birth." James blessed the bread, Paul blessed the water, and Joshua passed both of them.

This week's lesson was Helaman 13-16 "Glad Tidings of Great Joy", the story of Samuel the Lamanite. We went through the personal scripture study section of the lesson, each person reading a section and the scriptures listed in that section. We got in to some good discussion and I handed out a paper listing the things that will happen before the Second Coming. Many of them have already happened. I also shared with everyone the list of things President Nelson asked us to do in the last conference. Here is an outline of what we discussed:
I.   Helaman 13 The Lord gives warnings through His prophets.
II.  Helaman 13-15 The Lord is merciful to those who repent.
III. Helaman 14; 16:13-23 Signs and wonders can strengthen the faith of those who do not harden their hearts.

After our meeting some took naps, James heated up some chili beans and I watched the conference talks we will be discussing today in our Lambson group study from the Saturday afternoon session of General Conference.
"The Coming Forth of the Book of Mormon"
Elder Ulisses Soares

"Come unto Christ-Living as Latter-day Saints
Elder John A. McCune

"A Living Witness of the Living Christ"
Bishop Gerald Causse

"Consider the Goodness and Greatness of God"
Elder Dale G. Renlund

"The Power of the Book of Mormon in Conversion"
Elder Benjamin M.Z. Tai

"A Good Foundation against the Time to Come"
Elder Gary E. Stevenson

Much of our discussion centered on the truths taught in the Book of Mormon and the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and the goodness and mercy of both Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We also talked about how strong our spiritual foundation needs to be to face the future. We discussed the promises President Nelson gave as we read and study, and PONDER the truths taught in the Book of Mormon. The teachings of the gospel can TRANSFORM us. The two capitalized words were ones that were used several times in many of these talks.

At the beginning of our Zoom call Charlie started singing "The Wiseman Built His House Upon a Rock". She was so shy she didn't finish the song but Jared says she knows all of the words. I didn't realize until later when we were talking about Elder Stevenson's talk, "A Good Foundation Against the Time to Come," how appropriate this song was. I'm sure Kacey knew and that's why she had her sing it.

James started around 3 o'clock to prepare the meat for our venison gravy. As soon as we were finished with our gospel discussion he began cooking the meat with the gravy. I put the biscuits in. Paul cooked bacon and eggs and before 5:30 we were ready to eat.
James and I ate quickly and then left for the Grapp's for Malea's baby blessing and Emsley's 7th birthday. The Grapp's are also serving dinner but we did not stay for dinner.

James in an apron his mom made is
the head chef today.

Brother Grapp invited all Melchizedek priesthood holders up to help bless the baby. He gave a very sweet blessings. Malea fussed a little. She has a bit of a rash on her face and I think maybe she was uncomfortable and the rash is why she did not have on her white blessing dress.

After the baby blessing we let Emsley open her gift from us. Her mom and told me that she loves Calico Critters. So that's what I got her along with a book. I think she liked the critters better than the book.

Emsley turned 7 today

Besides family there were several people from our ward who
attended this blessing/birthdayparty/dinner.
The Gillespies, the two sister Halcombs, the Peelers, the Goodmans, and the Morrison family. I got to see Amaron who just turned 11. He is growing up!

We left after Emsley opened her gift. When we got home there were cows all over our property. They are Brother Gillespie's cows. Stacy, Paul, and Joshua were on a Razr ride so James just went outside and yelled at them. He chased one bunch off and then another one came. While he was chasing the second bunch off, the first one returned. The cows are getting to be a nightmare. The break out of their field which has a big pond of water and then when they get thirsty they come over and drink Luna's water. They aren't too smart. When the Razr returned he had to chase them again.

Shipley is my new friend. She loves me. I was laying down on the bed when James opened the door to the bedroom while Stacy and Paul were gone and Shipley jumped up in bed right beside me. Vader tried to but he had a little harder time. James was upset because he doesn't want dogs on his bed so he called for them to come with him. He took them outside and almost lost Shipley. Stacy got back and she was pretty upset but calmed down quickly when Shipley came running off the hill when she called.

What a Sabbath this was, packed with lots of activities. One of the highlights of our Sabbath is always seeing pictures of Charlie. This time Molly was in the pictures too. I am embarrassed to say that we totally forgot that this was Fast Sunday. How embarrassing!

Jesus Christ, Lord
Ether 3:6
And it came to pass that when the brother of Jared had said these words, behold, the Lord stretched forth his hand and touched the stones one by one with his finger. And the veil was taken from off the eyes of the brother of Jared, and he saw the finger of the Lord; and it was as the finger of a man, like unto flesh and blood; and the brother of Jared fell down before the Lord, for he was struck with fear.

Helaman 16 - The Nephites who believe Samuel are baptized by Nephi - Samuel cannot be slain with the arrows and stones of the unrepentant Nephites - Some harden their hearts, and others see angels - The unbelievers say it is not reasonable to believe in Christ and His coming in Jerusalem. "A Good Foundation Against the Time to Come"

I think of countless other members of the Church, warriors like this sister, who walk each day in faith, striving to be true and undaunted disciples of our Savior, Jesus Christ. They learn of Christ. They preach of Christ. They strive to emulate Him. Whether the days of their lives face steady or unstable ground, their spiritual foundation is strong and immovable.

Who can find a virtuous woman?

Happy 42nd Birthday Darrel! Trina asked me if I knew how to make a Mexican wedding cake. I said no but I loved Mexican wedding cookies. Maybe you could just make a pile of cookies and call it a cake. Darrel said he remembered Grandmother Lambson making them but I looked in her cookbook and I could not find a recipe. I did not remember her making a Mexican wedding cake. The cake I remember is the Italian creme cake. I sent Trina a recipe I found on the internet but she didn't end up making it. They got a bundt cake from Safeway with strawberries and whipped cream. That's what I had for my birthday. I guess Darrel and I have a lot of the same tastes. Trina said she only ate chocolate growing up.  I told her that chocolate was good too. I ate both and you can tell the difference.
I asked Trina to send me a birthday picture of Darrel and this is what she sent:
Darrel started celebrating early with
a rice cake. He looks like he doesn't
feel well. Happy Birthday Darrel!

Stacy was going to put my lashes on today but she said she had an allergic reaction to the glue and she thought I might be allergic too. She put some small lashes on the outer edges of my eyes and then we will see how I do. If I don't have a reaction, she will do the complete set on Monday.

I took Paul, Stacy, Joshua, Shipley, and Vader over to the ghost Ranch. Stacy had to stop and look inside one of the cabins. We talked about fixing one or two up to let the kids stay in. jk
We saw where there had been hookups for electricity and water. At one time this was quite an operation. I'm just wondering why the Church didn't buy it and use it for girls camp. I still can't believe that all of this has been over here and I never knew about it.

The dogs and I came in the house and Paul, Stacy, and Joshua went on a Razr ride up on the forest. They were gone over an hour. They got to Green's Peak and were going to go up but noticed they were almost out of gas so they came back. They said there were so many ATV's and campers. It's always like that on a holiday weekend.

The Hunsaker's and the Wood's went up to camp at Green's Peak. I guess Brother Woods had a wreck on his ATV. Thank goodness Bishop Hunsaker was there to help him.

James worked on the fence during the day today and our taxes in the evening. He's been doing Lambson Construction taxes and the taxes for my book business for 2019. I did the math for 2020 only to find out that I have not really been making any money. Most of the money I have made has gone to buying more books. I am going to finish out the year and see where I am at and then make a decision as to what I should do. I work about three hours a day and if I'm not making any money that time could be put to better use.

Tonight we did dinner with Stacy and Paul. I made mashed potatoes and Stacy made asparagus and we each had our own steaks. Stacy cooked their steaks inside in a cast iron skillet and I cooked ours outside on the grill. Our steaks were fillets and they were delicious. Stacy was worried about Paul's steak because it had so much fat on it, but she bought him a ribeye and they are marbled with fat. He did not complain about it. Everything I ate tasted really good.

After dinner we decided to split the $30 it costs to watch the new Mulan movie on Disney Plus. Stacy and Paul have a subscription. Paul made the payment and then we could not get the internet to stream the movie. It might be too slow. I told Paul maybe they could watch it when they got home.

We watched a couple of episodes of "Call the Midwife", I walked until I got my 10,000 steps and then went to bed.

Our friends, the Jensen's, who live in
Chandler, found this on their front porch.
